Horrible! A couple of years ago this place was great. Things have certainly changed. Had not been here in awhile so I don't know what has happened..new cook? Or just lost pride in putting out quality food. Ordered the sesame chicken, szechuan chicken and fried rice. Not a one was edible. Sesame chicken was dry and overcooked, the szechuan chicken was absolutely flavorless (spicy, really?) and the fried rice had so much of something that it was an extreme brown unappealing color, and had no egg, no vegetables period. My favorite fast food spot in the woodlands for when I crave Chinese. The prices are VERY reasonable. The portions are good. I feed a family of 5 with 3 dinner specials easy. BANNED! Because of a disagreement over a botched delivery and my request for a refund, the owner has banned me from using this restaurant. We have been using this store for about three years, ordering delivery or eating in once or twice per month. The food is decent standard Chinese fast food and was always delivered too hot to eat...that is, until last night's order. The two dinners we ordered were fine, but the crab rangoon were forgotten. My wife called and was told the rest of the order would be delivered. Over 45 minutes later, the crab rangoon arrived, old and cold. It was, apparently, the original order that was forgotten and sat on the counter for two hours. I called back to express my displeasure and the woman started shouting at me about how she's not the manager and all she could do was send another order. Well, by that time, dinner was long over and all I wanted was some empathy and customer satisfaction. I told her to tell the manager that I wanted a refund. About a half hour later, the manager called me back and said he would issue a refund but I was banned from using his restaurant ever again. That's OK, it's going to hurt him more than me. Came here for lunch, I wanted to try something different near my office. Food came out pretty fast and the portions are pretty big and I did like the little appetizers (fried chip things). Unfortunately, the food was extremely salty and the white rice was very chewy seemed like it had been cooked maybe the day before. Lunch specials continue till 330 which is nice but honestly it's not enough to make me come back for another try. It was pretty ordinary like other nearby places, nothing stood out. read more

Ordered delivery through DoorDash, and I must say, while I can't vouche for the restaurant atmosphere or dine-in experience, the food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! We ordered the dinner portion of beef pepper steak (came with fried rice and egg roll), sweet and sour chicken, and the house special lo mein. First off, everything came delivered STEAMING HOT. We couldn't eat it right away, it was literally that hot. Each dish was flavorful, fresh, and very, very filling. And there was so much food, we're gonna have leftovers for days! At first I was kind of scared to try this place out. It had great reviews but when I drove up I was like . My boyfriend and I sat in our truck for a minute debating on going because it's not the most appealing place to look at from the outside. Plus it didn't have many cars in the parking lot. However a lot of reviews stated that they ordered to go or delivery. Well obviously if I gave it a review we decided to give it a try. We ordered an order of crab Rangoon, delicious. My boyfriend loves them and he said they were the best he has ever had! We both got General Tso Chicken. It's what I usually order at Chinese places. It was really good, spicer than I've had them before but I love spicy food. We will definitely come back to this place. read more

Sub-par food and ridiculous customer service. I say this after literally being yelled at by the gentleman (and I use that word loosely) that delivered our food and then by the woman who claimed to be his manager who yelled more. We ordered 7 individual orders with 7 methods of payment (ya know... office lunch delivery) then, upon delivery, we were yelled at for having too many orders to be organized in a drop off and somehow it was our fault the driver didn't have change. The driver yelled (raised voice AND rude tone) at myself as well as two other customers. Crap service and horrible experience. There are WAY to many Chinese restaurants around for me to put up with that! read more

If you had asked me about this place 2 weeks ago, I would have given it a 4 stars. This was my go to Chinese place for delivery, pick-up, and dine in for YEARS. Fast delivery, quick service, great tasting food. Unfortunately, I found a black bug in my house fried rice 2 weeks ago as we were dining in. I went back and forth in my head about writing this review, but I'd want to know. I can never eat here again for this reason. My husband, kids, and I split the rice and unfortunately we were almost done when we noticed it. We brought it to managements and the server's attention who then picked up the bug by hand trying to figure it out what type of bug it was. Yuck. Maybe this should have been done behind closed doors. Sadly we were only given an apology and credited for that one dish and had to pay for the rest. read more

Staff was very friendly upon arrival. I admit to being a little hesitant of the strong fish odor inside, but I remained optimistic as this place had been pretty highly recommended. We were given a recommendation by the Holiday Inn Express desk clerk. She said it was really good. So we ordered a delivery, and they said it would take 45 minutes. Fifteen minutes later, they arrived at our door, with a bag, including to-go silverware. The packaging for a hotel order was excellent, as it separated the entree from the rice, and included a lid when we couldn't finish it all. We had the Shrimp with broccoli and Chicken with Mixed Vegetables, both Dinner Combos. This includes entree, pork fried rice (which we asked for a chicken fried rice substitution, which they did, gladly), and an eggroll. The package was delivered hot, almost too hot for my wife, as she had to stir it just to be able to eat, which is unusual for a delivery order. Both entrees were excellent, the shrimp was fresh, and the vegetables were wonderful. The chicken fried rice could have used a bit more seasoning, but was extremely tasty! Found this place on Yelp, so figured we would try it. Placed an order for pickup. I live in the woodlands, outside of delivery area. I picked up the order, even gave a $5 tip, and when I got home, noticed they didn't put in the House Fried Rice I paid for ($7.50), so I called figuring they would credit me back. Girl on the phone told me to come back and they would refund the cost. Before hanging up, she asked me to hold on, and I could hear her telling the owner I would be coming back and she wanted to make sure they would refund the cost. Owner would not answer her, so she put me on phone with him, he asked if I would come back to pick it up. 20 min ride, but figured why not. When I got there, it was clear the owner didn't want to talk to me or refund, girl looked embarrassed. After a few mins of the owner ignoring me, girl grabs the bag and says can you just take it and go. At this point I didn't want to cause the young girl any more embarrassment, so I took it and left. What bothers me is not the money, but the rude way I was treated for their mistake. They could have offered to deliver it, or refund the cost, or even offered a discount on my next order, but the owner clearly doesn't know how to deal with customers. Well, I guess that will be my first and last experience at Golden China. Very disappointing. Mistakes happen, I get that, but deal with them in a professional manner, and people will respect you. FYI, food was average, not bad, but not great either. Too many other Chinese takeout places to return to this one that is really difficult to get to anyway. read more

THIS PLACE IS A KEEPER - if it wasn't for yelp reviews and many of them (not just 4 or 5 ) we would never have come in Restaurant is clean inside and reasonable amount of seating. Pleasant staff and quick service. One silly thing that is important to me that i noticed INSTANTLY is flooring is NOT sticky and seating and tables are CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. We LOVED our meals - big portions plenty for leftovers to take home. Easy to split a meal for the average eaters. Meal was fresh and i am pretty picky and apprehensive with Chinese and Mexican restaurants. I liked that with my chicken cashew that the carrots and celery were diced smaller than most Chinese !! I think if I could leave 0 stars that would be a more accurate rating. The young lady I left my order for wasn't really pleasant which isn't a big deal. I get it. But it was when I took a second to pull out my credit card and said, "I'm ready when you are" and her response was, "I've been ready." This should have been my first clue to order somewhere else. Order was $23 and change. This and the quick, friendly delivery driver are the only things earning golden china a star at all. Upon receiving my order I open the bag and notice two issues, one bigger than the other. First, they forgot the hot mustard I asked for; no biggie. I had some in the fridge. The big one was my general tso's chicken. I ordered the one off of the 'chefs specialties' not the dinner specials because, due to dietary restraints, am unable to have the pork fried rice so I was ordering an item that came with white rice and a size able portion difference. I called back and the young lady I ordered from answered. After explaining the issue she informed me that she was the one that took the order, she knows what I said, she knows what she repeated and there was nothing I could do. I know what I ordered. After arguing with me and my fiancée for 10 minutes I asked for a manager. She told me that he was making deliveries but that he would say the same thing. I ended up leaving a number for a call back which probably won't happen. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. Awful AWFUL service and employees. read more

Do not eat here: Ordered over the phone for delivery. The person who delivered our food refused to go through the gate and deliver our food to the door. We had to meet him in front of the gate, even though gate access was open. Two long strands of hair was found in our pork fried rice. They forgot our white rice when came with a meal. The spring roll had more filler material then actual vegetables. First and last time to order from here. read more
