Can't beat this place for consistency. Food is also very good and not overpriced! Portions are good size on lunch menu. You will not leave here hungry and broke!

Absolutely amazing service I haven't been here in years used to go all the time when I was younger. Absolutely nothing has changed still the cutest little shop and the food is still great as always! If I was in town more often this would be a stable spot for me again. They are always super nice and understanding! Love this place!

My wife Kaity & I have loved this place since we left NY in 2013. These people are the best! The food is fresh & tasty, Best prices too.

Want a NY style Chinese restaurant? This is it!!! I have been going there for 10 plus years now. Best lunch specials, always consistent food quality. The soups are wonderful, tasty. Fast service & a friendly staff who work hard. Try the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, or the General's Chicken. I LOVE THIS LITTLE PLACE!

    My full order.

It's really *good.* Full disclosure, I'm from New Orleans born and raised. So my palate is probably more discerning than most... After months of delay, I placed my order over the phone, and the lady was quite friendly. Yet to find the boneless spare ribs that adorn most Chinese menus back home, as well as Shrimp Fried Rice that sweeps me off my feet (except for one other restaurant), I decided to give Hoi Yin a try. I placed my order about an hour before closing, picking it up from the drive-thru twenty minutes later. I ordered the Shrimp Fried Rice and the BBQ Pork; the spare ribs were bone-in, and I wasn't looking for beef sticks. There were no photos of the BBQ Pork on Yelp, so I took a shot in the dark. The nice aroma filling my truck, I eagerly fled home to give my food a try... To their credit, the portions from Hoi Yin were large, the price was fair ($15 total) and the food tasted pretty good. Okay--I didn't finish my food because it did absolutely nothing for me. Most of the Shrimp Fried Rice I've tasted since moving to the Houston area has been fairly bland. Plus I came up short when it came to the ribs I'm seeking. So for a *local* standard, my meal from Hoi Yin was really good. However, I'm still searching for fried rice and boneless ribs akin to anything I'm used to back home. Unfortunately, I haven't found that yet.

Cozy little place for some good Chinese food. Best General Tso chicken I've had in town. Good service. Egg rolls are good and the price is on point. Especially their lunch specials. Lots of good tasting food for the price. Egg drop soup is delicious.

    Kung pao three meat delight

So the food was bland, honestly tasted like frozen stir fry. Order the beef fried rice spicy no veggies (with no spice) and kung pao three meat delight (no shrimp, extra beef) which is twelve ninty-five just for it to be bland and a plate full of vegetables. The person I was with asked for mandrian spicy chicken and walnut shrimp just for the chicken to not have flavor or spice and guess what the walnut shrimp, you guessed it a tin pan full a vegetables and 5 shrimp, yes we counted, 4 since one fell. Totally disappointed to have had spent $40 plus dollars. The picture is the tin pan FILLED With veggies compared to meat that comes in it.

    Yeah!!! Great crab rangoon

We went in as they unlocked the doors for the day to place a to go order. We have not been in the building itself in years. We usually call in and drive through pick up. The floors were dirty, the tables and chairs had crumbs and dried food, cobwebs were hanging from the doors jambs. We were the second order placed. Three orders were delivered to those that came and placed their order after us. Never a comment to let us know ours was coming up, or soon, or just a moment or anything. Good commuication goes a long way. Thirty-five minutes later, over cooked, soggy, gummy, Lo Mein. Under cooked, lumpy Egg Foo Young gravy. Saving grace, great crab rangoon. We have been coming here for years, since they changed over the building from the Pilgrims Cleaners. We think it is important to support small businesses. Unfortunately, after todays service, we will now be looking for a new place.

At my most recent visit, our server, Jennifer, had such a great attitude. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, and gave helpful suggestions without being pushy at all. Though Jinya is known for their ramen, I actually prefer to order their rice bowls! The Pork Chashu is my favorite item here, and their Tokyo Curry Rice is amazing too. I got the black tonkotsu ramen ($17). The price was okay, the portion was okay, and the ramen was okay. The whole thing was mid. Later, my friend told me that Jinya the "McDonalds" of ramen shops and I should have gone elsewhere LMAO The "black" means that it had black garlic oil in it, but for some reason, there was not enough of that garlic flavor for me to justify calling it a "black" ramen. I don't know if the chopped garlic wasn't toasted enough or whether the amount of the black garlic oil was too little, but it wasn't garlicky enough. The broth was mild in flavor. It looked creamy enough, but maybe it was diluted down to stretch it more? I have a feeling that if you stuck the broth in the fridge, it wouldn't solidify (which is a clear indication that it's either been diluted down or the pork bones to make it weren't cooked long enough). We're in Houston, there are SO many good ramen places, so I wouldn't come back here again. Not awful, but not great, just meh.

The food was very good!…read more I was hesitant at first because some of the menu seemed to be fusion items. In a place like Houston, where you can get authentic Vietnamese food, this can be a luck draw if the fusion pays off. However, when I tried the food, it was a very flavorful and worth every cent I spent. Everything was very tasty. The wings were flavorful and crisp. It had a combination of crispy skin seasoned with a rich sauce. The meat was also moist. For a party of two, it was also very shareable because they gave six pieces -both drums and wings. I will say that you really gotta to get in there get your hands and face dirty though! (They did provide a hand wipe!) For the main dishes, the won tonic soup was very flavorful with sweet-and-sour elements with egg noodles that soaked up all this good flavor. The wontons inside were very standard. And the onion was added to provide some balance. Everything was very hardy and filling. My friend had gotten the vermicelli. Which came with crunchy egg rolls, shredded veggies, noodles, and shrimp topped with a fish sauce. It felt very light and refreshing with a balance of textures and savory elements'. Highly recommend as the number one and two selling dishes - it would just depend on if you're in a soup or dry noodle sort of mood. Service was overall fast and friendly. You have to pay by going to the counter. We had a newer waiter though, and it took him a long time to get our orders correctly and he had to get some help. Hopefully they're doing well, but overall, it's a very cute Homie little establishment. Seating fits around 30 around booths and tables.

We spent about $60, and unfortunately... this was one of the most disappointing meals we've had in a while. The food tasted old across the board. The egg rolls were burnt, the sweet and sour chicken was dry and flavorless, and the General Tso's chicken was soggy and overly sweet. The only things even remotely edible were the lo mein and fried rice. To make things worse, the service didn't match the price point. For a $60 order, we were given just four soy sauce packets, no plasticware, and no fortune cookies. When I asked for more soy sauce, sriracha, and duck sauce, I was initially given barely anything had to ask again and explain I had a full meal to feed. They eventually brought more, but still no fortune cookies. My husband and I eat out often because of our schedules, and we don't mind spending money on good food but this was not it. I had really high hopes because it's hard to find solid Chinese food in the Spring area, and I was hoping this could become a go-to spot. Unfortunately, it won't be. If I weren't so tired, I would've called back to complain but I just didn't have the energy. Chalking this one up as a loss and doing better next time.
