She also, gave a wonderful Birthday shout out to all the people that were celebrating their Birthdays including my husband who really appreciated it. Went to Golden Corral and boy was it fire! The food was just like grandmas!!! Felt like I was back home again visiting! They have a lil bit of everything. The mash potatoes were to die for! I tried breakfast there with my coworkers last week. It smells bad in there. Maybe it's the carpet. Most of the plates were dirty as well as the silverware. I had to pick through it all to find clean items. The food looked nasty. The eggs had green stuff on some of them. I only ate a piece of a pastry because I was afraid to eat the food there. What do you say about a place that offers so many food selections from fried chicken to make your own tacos to broiled or fried fish. They offer a nice sized salad bar with all the fixings and their soft serve ice cream and cookies are a nice ending to a never ending all you can eat buffet. The man asked if I was taking out and he went to get me a take out box. I got a few things and weighed it and it cost about $9. I paid and left. When I dug in the mash potatoes and rice was good. The kids were not impressed at all. With 6 in the party, and a $86 bill I was not pleased. Though shrimp would be on the line. Love this Golden Corral location. It seem to be the only one in the Tri-Cities area and also overlaps with the Southeastern Richmond/Chesterfield region too. It's a quick move off of I-95 and is on the edge of Southpark Mall which has a lot of stores, restaurants, and other establishments in/around it as well. The actual location is decently sized and I've found the food to always be well-replenished/with a large variety and the service always to be courteous, delightful, and try to help as much as they can. It was my first time at a Golden Corral. I left satisfied but not over the top impressed. Good meats, good sides. I was able to try a hush puppy for the first time. I made myself a bbq sandwich with slaw. Had some tasty mac n cheese. As usual, my eyes go to everything in the buffet causing me to crave everything in sight. All the desserts looked amazing. I went for some blueberry pie and a mini chocolate lava cake. Devine. The best part of the night? Cotton candy. I've never been to a buffet that offered that. 2012 update. There are lot of good things to say about this Golden Corral. It must be popular with the locals, because it is always busy. I also notice that the staff seems to be a lot friendlier and interactive with the customers. Seems like many customers and employees are on a first name basis. Reviewing this location vs the newer Golden Corral concept is a different story. This is probably the oldest facility I have seen still being operated as a GC. I am guessing that the place really hasn't been updated since you went through the line and were able to order a steak (it is an all buffet chain now). They have the salad bar, desserts, and main buffet jammed tightly into the available space, and they do have a pretty good variety of foods, However, Golden Corral as a chain now boasts the stations concept, and this location does not offer the larger variety of food choices now available at most locations. So go for the friendly staff and the basic buffet goodies, but don't go if you are expecting to find the newer Golden Corral concept. read more

I had my granddaughters with me on Saturday June 27, 2020 and they wanted Golden Corral Buffett and grill. The social distance was their top priority and I was highly pleased with it. I noticed how one server in the desert section used the same gloves that she used to bring something out of the kitchen to the desert section and serve the family that was in front of me. I asked for some gummy bears and without changing the gloves she picked up the spoon and scooped up the gummy bears with one hand and the hand with the contaminated glove to scoop them into the dish. I was so floored by her action that I couldn't accept them from her and I ended up leaving there and going to a store to purchase some that were not contaminated. The establishment was clean, the food was fresh and service was good but I wanted to share my experience so others can be vigilant about the cross contamination that could cause others to become ill. read more

The food was horrible, chicken was old, taste like it was cooked the day before and put it back out there for the next day to be served and the fries taste like they were cooked in fish oil, poor selection of desserts, banana pudding nothing but vanilla cream and no bananas and vanilla wafers, all I have to say is that this place has gone down, it is not like it use to be, about 2 years ago the food was good, I do not know who is preparing this food now, but they need some cooks that know how to cook and make the food tasty and not having it taste old, the impression I am getting is that you all are serving food that is left over from the previous day and also when I come in there for breakfast the bacon be so hard and tough as if it had been microwaved and put out from the previous day, all the food sucks in there now. read more
