I took advantage of the online 'join the waitlist'. I definitely recommend this anytime you go to cracker barrel. I was able to be seated immediately after checking in. I went on Thursday so I was got to try their turkey n dressing dinner option. It came with mashed sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce and an additional side. I also tried their new sugar plum tea. I was a little disappointed that the meal came with one slice of turkey and that it was luke warm. All in all, I enjoy going to cracker barrel but do not recommend this meal. read more

The sausage gravy was like wall paper paste and cold. Eggs were Luke warm. The shrimp dinner was great but a side order of chicken dumplins was requested and a huge bowl of unseasoned chicken dumplings was served Luke warm. I was surprised this place wasn't packed on a Sunday. I was able to walk right in and was greeted with a smile. The waist came quickly and took our order and gave us some recommendations as well. The biscuit beignet was sweet and above flavor to it. A nice appetizer to try. The pancakes was nice and fluffy and the syrup was DELICIOUS!! I never had syrup like this before. We used to order weekly however no more! During Covid, we ordered at least weekly. As our orders were missing elements or just not quite right, we went to monthly. The online ordering system is glitchy at best. It is too frustrating to bother anymore. Most of the time it doesn't work well and we tried multiple devices as well as tried the app. When I called to place an order, I was hung up on twice. I should have seen that as an omen. That can be understandable, but what isn't understandable is not bringing some items back. There are petitions going around too! Remember the foil-wrapped "Campfire Meals"? How about "Red Eye Gravy"? Fried Chicken livers"? I counted at least ten items! Guess what guys? Covid isn't a biggie now- why not please your old customers and surprise the new ones?? It was void of moisture and sorry looking. Even the gravy and onions could make it pretty. The side were cold & Luke warm. My wife did enjoy her fried shrimp. I'm not sure if it's this Cracker Barrel or all of them, but their quality of food has greatly decreased and I'm done with them. Their food used to be so flavorful and rich but now it's nothing special at all. The macaroni is watery and no different than what you might find at a cheap buffet, the green beans taste like they're straight out of a can, the chicken tenders are so thin now, about 1/3 of the thickness they used to be. Businesses like these are cutting quality and portions while raising prices and think we're all too stupid to notice. It's a terrible business plan. read more

I really wish my experience was better but ordered curbside, they did not even know what my order was despite checking in & saying my vehicle car and color. All my food was brought to me & advise the lady I also ordered a gallon sweet tea. She returned with 2 large cups saying they ran out of containers and this was equivalent to what I ordered. Ok no big deal but when going to eat my food..everything seemed old the grits were super watered down, eggs were old. Only thing salvageable was the bacon. Took a few bites and immediately got sick. The food has been disappointing the last 3 times my husband and I dined here. Each time I ordered the turkey dinner. The first was OK, the last two bombed. The slices I received were comprised of small edible pieces along with many pieces of skin, gristle and fat. The mashed potatoes were in no way mashed. We had a great experience here on Thanksgiving Day!! Our plans got cancelled last minute and we heard they were open. We were worried. But wow were we pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was Afton. She had a smile on her face the entire evening. She was quickly buzzing around being so friendly to everyone. She had helpful suggestions and served us very quickly. I absolutely love getting breakfast here You get so much food and it is so cheap! We got French toast, pancakes, bacon, eggs, hash browns, toast, and sausage. As you can see in the picture, it was a lot of food! Every time we've gone for breakfast it has been quick service and the food is consistently good. The warm bottles of maple syrup are my favorite part. I usually go for breakfast on a weekday morning as to avoid the crowds and long waits. Been in this location twice and both time, we were super satisfied! Not only the food was delicious, the servers were super nice! I usually go with the country fried steak and alternate the 3 sides that come with. The best would be the Brussels sprouts & kale salad with pecans (YUM!). Fried okra was interesting but pretty plain in flavor but still good to eat as a side. Our waitress gave us both corn muffin and biscuits without asking which we preferred, she knows us customers too well. ALSO, she brought us extra gravy (LOVE THIS SERVICE) without us asking. The fried chicken breakfast platter is a nice switch if you're feeling more chicken than steak, their over easy eggs are to die for, fluffy and nicely poached! Scam-like approach to delivery fees. Their original order screen does not include a delivery fee when it list other costs and fees. Giving you the impression it's "free delivery". BUT, after you put in credit card info, a $5.99 delivery fee appears at bottom of screen - you would have to scroll to see it. Most people would miss it. Not ethical. Not cool Cracker Barrel! AND... I get a digital receipt from door dash (who I assume Cracker Barrel subcontracts) and it only shows the cost of food and my driver tip. NO MENTION THAT I PAID $5.99 DELIVERY !!! My wife ordered shrimp and hush puppies (well not sure exactly how it was listed on menu but she got that with french fries) *however* when it arrived, there was 3 maybe 4 pieces of shrimp. That's it. I get you might be low on items but if that's the case don't let the staff sell it or something. I ordered my old time stand by classic - the country fried steak with gravy and mashed potatoes. To be honest, I get it because I've (so far) seen them screw it up... It's always been good! Now the chicken fried chicken .... Not nearly as good but that's another story. I should note that we also ordered to go the one dessert that can be taken to go (rest had ice cream we thought) - cinnamon covered beignets with I think a caramel dipping sauce. My wife and I stopped coming to Cracker Barrel at 4720 Craig Rath Blvd Midlothian, VA., because the service and the food delivery times we lacking quality. Nevertheless, we decided after a whole year to give this location another chance.... The food- order delivery time is still lacking attention... but to our surprise, our Serve, a young lady called Isabel, a new server, did an amazing job, we even took some of her recommendation, to include dessert which is something that we normally do not do with my wife. We are willing to come again, as along as they continue to have motivated and kind sergeants like this young lady.... The time we had been here before today, we waited for a table for almost an hour before the hostess called everyone who was waiting over to tell them they had to close the restaurant at noon. Today however was a reinforcement that we will not be coming back. Waitress was sweet but everything we ordered was cold and flavorless. Meatloaf, cold. roast beef with gravy, cold. Fried chicken, cold. The waitress brought out small plates for the appetizers and one had someone else's food remnants on it which was stomach turning on its own. The cold food was the final straw. The food had not been sitting, I was in eyeshot of the cooks and saw our waitress was handed our plates and they were brought immediately out. This means the food the cooks are serving is cold to lukewarm. Imagine biting into lukewarm mashed potatoes and finding a cold lump mixed in. If I wasn't a nice guy I would have asked not to pay, but I paid, tipped (not the waitresses fault), and got out of there with my only solace knowing I will never again return. Haven't been to this location in a couple of years and sadly it's gone downhill. I was looking forward to the fried filet of turkey that's on their menu and was told they have that anymore. Their menu and their online menu are different. The waitress brought out some room temperature dry biscuits and ice cold butter with the extra cost apple butter. Ordered their chicken fried chicken and the gravy was like pudding the only reason I gave two stars was the waitress was so friendly. Sadly it seems Cracker Barrel demise is imminent. read more
