The other day I was using the restroom while a kind older lady came in to mop the floor when suddenly a man comes into the women's restroom to yell at her for moping the floor while I was in there and that made me uncomfortable a man should not be allowed in the women's restroom bathroom when another person is in there even if he is a manager it was extremely unprofessional especially way he spoke to her it was just downright rude and disrespectful and he was aware of me being in there and chose to continue yelling at her in front of a customer in the women's restroom it shook me it's extremely unexpected and inappropriate. read more

Golden Corral was founded in 1971 by James Maynard and William F. Carl. The first Golden Corral Family Steak House opened in 1973 in Fayetteville North Carolina. The early Golden Corrals were steak restaurants, not all you can eat buffets. In the 1980's Golden Corral rebranded and expanded to include a buffet with 160 hot and cold items. During this time the restaurant added the Brass Bell Bakery. A brass bell used to ring every 15 minutes when the hot rolls were ready. Those fresh rolls are still my favorite bakery item. The Company is privately owned and in 2015 Lance Trenary was appointed CEO. As other all you can eat buffets saw their sales declined, Golden Corral operated on a 100 year plan for the company making their decisions for the long term instead of cutting corners for a quick profit. Golden Corral began instituting a remodel that has been shown to generate better sales for the company. The new design makes the buffet area more attractive and shows an open kitchen. 30 of the 489 locations received the updates in 2018. Obviously Golden Corral was struck hard by the Covid Pandemic. The restaurants near me still have not reopened. It is sad to see the weeds overtaking the abandoned building in Pompano. I had so many good memories there of family meals. It seems like the Golden Corrals north of me and in the center of the state have managed to survive. At first they all shut down and then in August of last year they started reopening as take out and a cafeteria style restaurant but this model was not sustainable in the long run because they couldn't turn a profit with the number of workers needed to serve the food. As I was heading to Orlando I saw that this Golden Corral was open and decided to stop in to relive some pre pandemic memories. Ten dollars nets you a week day lunch which is a pretty good value. First impressions was that the restaurant looks spotless. Everything looked super clean and the buffet looked pretty much like it did before Covid. There are gloves offered but I didn't see anyone using them. The restaurant is huge so it was easy to social distance away from everyone else. I saw everyone have a mask on when they did take food. Food selections look pretty much the same as they have always been. You have a large salad bar, hot foods including meat and vegetables, a carving station, and the dessert bar complete with chocolate fountain. The food is not gourmet but it is filling. Expect to find fried chicken, pot roast, fish, ham, sweet potatoes, sausage and peppers, a taco bar, meatloaf and broccoli, cornbread, and bourbon chicken. It is economical for a family and everyone can find something they will eat. It was pure nostalgia for me taking a bite of their chocolate cake. It is nice to see that ultimately Covid couldn't kill the gluttony of the all you can eat buffet. read more

Not all Golden Corrals are the same. This one owned by a nice guy named Scott and managed by Kirvens is supreme. Very clean place, just payed out new carpet. Food is great. Nice place. As you might be aware, the price for g.c.'s buffet has increased considerably. 15.99 for a buffet..if you're a senior, 60 and above, it will cost 15.49. Not much of a discount. We came here for a quick lunch to eat. The parking on the side was enough for us. The lunch crowd was starting to get busy. We made it just in time. When you walk in, it's a order and the front sit down at your own risk kinda place. A lot of tables to choose from. I ordered the Cuban sandwich with fries and a drink. Food was good. I went to Golden Corral 10 years ago and thought it was disgusting and never went back until this past year in Orlando and absolutely loved it. Yesterday August 7th we went to the one in Fort Pierce. I took notice how the manager treated his staff with such respect and letting them know he appreciates them. I hardly ever see management act like that to their employees like Kervans did. The place was very well kept up with. Clean food nice and hot and kept full. Management and staff do an excellent job at the Fort Pierce location. I also let the management and staff know they're doing a good job and it's noticed. read more

This one in Fort Pierce has been closed due to remodeling(needed). So this is our first time coming back here since it reopened the place is awesome looks great the only problem I have is the people behind the counters talking to each other instead of filling the dishes as they should be and then you have a constant crowd of four to five people hanging around the managers office laughing and cutting up instead of doing their job. If they were to come out of the office stop talking to each other so much the bar would look as awesome as the inside of the golden coral, and there would be enough food to accommodate the constant customers they have flowing in. read more

Hard to find a parking place but when you do, it's quick to your table and quick to eat. Unless you get there just before 4pm. That's when early bird special ends and the steaks are dropped on the grill. You see, the stradegy here is to get there and pay before 4pm. Wait until a couple of minutes after 4pm before eating. That way, you get steak and only pay the early bird price. Great dessert bar for kids. You can get em' all sugared up on the way back to there respective parent. I have no complaint about the food they have a large selection and the food is good and their prices are reasonable. What I will complain about is management! I was sitting at a table right across where the food was displayed when I observed this sick small child with his parents', and the child was coughing up a lung coughing on the food. The father noticed me looking in their direction and asked the child's mom to take him to their table. Mom did, but a little while later, the child was again by the food and coughing mouth uncovered. I got up and talked to a manager, telling her what I observed and asked if the child parents could be asked not to bring their child by the food as he was contaminating the food. Per management, the restaurant is a public place, and they would not address the matter, but they would remove and replace the food the child coughed on. So management is risking contaminated food and making the public sick instead of addressing the issue. Golden Corral does give back to the public but in the wrong way!!! Then their was an incident where a young man came stopped by the cashier to tell them he was with the large party in the Party Room the cashier told the young man that t h e party has been there more then 2 hours which was lunch and that he would have to pay the dinner rate. The gentleman asked if he could pay the difference he was told he would have to pay the full amount at this point. He was frustrated and paid the full amount. We came here because we saw that Golden Corral supported the Patriot Awards on Fox and we appreciate that. Everything was excellent. Good variety, well cooked, good food temperature and cleanliness. The Fort Pierce location was a terrible disappointment after having been to the Port St. Lucie location previously. Twice asked the only person in the carving station for Pizza waited 25 minutes then asked for different ham slices as the ham was at an end and as he tried to slice it it just broke apart Mashed potatoes were empty for ten minutes meatloaf and pot roast were almost empty and crumbled All the while watching two employees engaged in conversation with a young girl and one employee on the phone. GOLDEN Corral Okeechobee BLV, Ft Pierce is our favorite eating buffet with fresh, home cooked, ingredients. This establishment is well staffed and the management is seen onsite not only directing staff but stepping in to "serve up the perfect steak". The consistency of food keeps us coming back even when inflation in our country is disabling our society. We appreciate the terrific prices that are being offered at this site and we leave a tip to reflect the hard work of waitstaff. Sunday afternoon we observed many families enjoying the food and socializing, it was busy and we all had our table with space to feel the room. This newly renovated GC is doing pretty good. It's just average food though. Hit or miss really. The first small steaks we received from the grill were almost non edible. So much fat and gristle I could hardly cut it with my knife. Then I gave them another try. My next steak was rare like I ordered it. It melted in my mouth. I spoke to the young cook and expressed how good the 2nd steak was. He smiled and said thank you. I can tell he was trying very hard. I just think he needs to cut more fat and not cook the bad steaks. I'm sure it's not the cooks fault though. Some other foods was good and other no so good. Its worth the $13.99 though. The drink is surely not worth $2.49. We drank water trying to save money. I would say it's an ok place with an ok price. Ok, now I'm good for another few years. read more

The Prime Rib is a fav of mines with the garlic aujus which is excellent paired with the jumbo shrimp that has a sweet and spicy flavor. Stopped in to have lunch. First the chicken was so dry you could hardly swallow it. The staff was very attentive- the had just re opened- BUT- we Paid 2.29 for a tea.
