(Denny'a store at 230 NW PEACOCK BLVD, Port St. Lucie Florida) Long overdue review. About 5 months ago, my buddy and I gave the Denny's on Peacok a try randomly on a Sunday morning. For a long time we would go to IHOP or Rise and Grind Cafe on Sunday's which are closer to our homes. But we gave this Denny's a try because we were in the area randomly one morning. Wow, we have yet to go back to the other places and since then we start our Sunday mornings each week bright and early at the counter. While the food has never let us down, no doubt the primary reason we made the switch is because of the service from counter waitresses (Rachel and Gabrielle) . They treat us and the others like the only customer in the store and the overall atmosphere they create is so welcoming. I now sometimes come alone on other days. These two know what we eat, they have coffee ready before we reach our seat, and they treat us like more than a customer. You can't easily find that just anywhere. They are that good !!!! The only complaint I would have is not with the store but with Denny's Corporate App and the Self Check out option that prints on the bottom of the check. If you self pay at the table, you don't get your rewards points put on your Rewards profile, even if the waitress adds your rewards information to the check before printing it for you. The self pay does not seem to link and getting in touch with Corporate Rewards is not very easy. You have to email them and wait. Overall, we really enjoy this place as you can tell. I just hope these two never leave cause if they do and stay local, we may follow them, haha. I rarely post reviews of anything but given my background in Restaurant Management (Marriott) I have a great appreciation for how difficult these jobs are so when I see someone masters the "Service" skill in a busy envoronment, I kinda feel obligated to applaud them. I make the Denny's on Peacock Blvd in St. Lucie West my Sunday meal day. The staff is very competent and very accommodating. The food is always good, sometimes it's a good while to wait, due to Sunday activity. It's always clean and comfortable. I look forward to Sundays every week. read more

I've been to a lot of Denny's Restaurants and most have crap services along with below-par food. So, what a surprise this Denny's turned out to be. The furnishings and décor are all modern and up to date, eye-pleasing. It's also spotlessly clean with a top-notch professional wait staff. My partner ordered their "Patty Melt," of which he's had many in the past. But, to his disappointing surprise, was told that the "Patty Melt" was no longer. It had been discontinued and removed from the menu. But, to hide good luck our waitress said that, though she couldn't give him a "Patty Melt," she could construct a special order for something very similar, which my partner asked her to do. Then within a few minutes, our waitress came out with what he said was nearly identical. Talk about great service! I merely had one of the "Over 55" specials, a Country Fried Steak which was fork-cutting tender and delicious. So, this is one Denny's I can recommend. read more

went to the Dennys in port saint lucie on South US Hwy 1 and me and my son ordered a Appitizer and it came with two sliders and two other appitizers so we ordered fries and chicken tenders and the chicken tenders were not cooked all the way thru which is nasty and a health hazard and we told the waitress and i asked if she could take it off our bill or give us onion rings instead she went and talked to her manager and they did nothing they refused our bill was almost 23.00 awful customer service the only thing that was decent were the sliders and the fries and my sons shake and the water that is all i can say . Saturday morning and there was a wait, which was expected. The Server we had was polite and kept up with our table pretty well. If you are a coffee lover, go ahead and skip it here. The coffee was disgusting. My daughter got the Beetlejuice pancakes. She was disappointed, no sprinkles like the picture showed. I ordered the french toast. It arrived cold. We came for breakfast as it's been years since we were in a Denny's. After being seated the waitress was right there and asked us what we want to drink. Coffee was given right away. It was delicious and we were asked what kind of cream we preferred. Love that we were asked. Son ordered cinnamon pancakes with eggs bacon and sausage. I ordered bacon and eggs over easy. The restaurant was full and well staffed. People were busy eating without shouting and kept their volume low. Exceptional behavior which was appreciated!!!! Diner Denny's - that place that everyone has hit at least once in their life for some breakfast, lunch or dinner. I like them for breakfast and have never really tried them for any other meal times, so this is pretty much a breakfast review. This location looks to be a little larger than some I have visited across the country and since it was just me, I took a seat over at the counter area. Waitress working the counter was also doing double duty in the dining room but she was quick and efficient and got me some coffee and a menu in no time flat. The menu is on the larger side with plenty of brekkie options as well as the aforementioned lunch and dinner items. I was in the mood for some grain pancakes and ended up with the full-on "slam" breakfast where you get a little of everything. Food appeared in the right amount of time: eggs were done right, pancakes were good and bacon / hash-browns were as requested. Coffee was hot and fresh and they were quick with the refills - a pet peeve of mine. Overall a very solid showing. Prices were decent considering the cost of everything these days and there were plenty of leftovers. Give them a shot if you are in need of a solid breakfast to get your day rolling. Was there for breakfast after morning rush on a Wednesday. Only about 5 other tables, 2 servers. Waitress came over, took our drink order ( 2 coffee, 2 water). Came back with coffee and said she'd be right back with water. Never saw her again. No water. Meanwhile she was taking care of 2 other tables and BSing and joking with ppl behind us. Took their orders, brought their food. 15min go by and nothing. Still had our menus. Finally made eye contact while she was BSing with other server, told her about 15min waiting. She rolled her eyes at other server and eventually came over. We were so annoyed we just left and went to First Watch. Horrible service. read more

I gave 5 stars because the price for their "specials" are good, like the everyday slam, hamburger and fries. The regular menu is too high priced. The servers are very nice especially Chase. This morning I had a very nice young man wait on me but he was one of 2 waiting on customers and it was very busy. I had to wait a long time for my everyday slam but he brought me hash browns extra, which was nice but everything was cold. The eggs, pancakes, bacon - COLD. The only thing that was warm was the hash browns. This isn't the first time I got cold food from Denny's but I usually just keep my mouth shut and eat it but today I told the waiter that my eggs were cold, he was so sweet about it and didn't charge me for the breakfast that I just couldn't eat. I'll go back and next time I'm going to ask if I could possibly get hot food. read more

Wow ! When me and my family enter it was pretty empty . No greetings just a "it will be a wait" as if they wanted us to leave .No problem we will wait . A family comes in 10 mins later and they get a greeting and a "it's a family of 7 in front of you" was that necessary to say ? After we are seated still no greeting , Waiter didn't introduce herself just straight up asked what we want to drink ! The family after us got a lovely introduction from the same waiter ! Idk what's going on but we felt targeted. Half way done with our meal the waiter brings the receipt??? We didn't ask for it we were still eating ! We felt unwelcome and rushed to leave the establishment. Won't be returning and I hope no one else have this experience. read more

I am only giving 2 stars because the restaurant was clean. Let's move on. The server finally came by and asked what I would like, I said a menu. It took 7 minutes to get my soda then to order Superbird without tomato. I also asked for the onion rings to be well done. What an epic failure! The bread was covered in butter that made my hand so slippery, it wasn't toasted at all. The onion rings were under cooked. A complete waste of my time and then to have to ask 2 people for the check? Sat at the bar and ordered the Grand Slam, which was on special for $5 dollars and change. Had a couple cups of coffee with that. The food arrived in a timely fashion, and most importantly, was hot and delicious. Joe, my server was friendly and very helpful having recommended the breakfast special right away. New location and a modern design. I love the Hightower tables near the kitchen. As this is a new spot its clean and well maintained. They have postings for hiring as well, and the staff is friendly and quick to serve. They did forget silverware and a water for me, but they did well to have my substitution requests in my omelet. coffee, delicious spinach, mushroom, and bacon omelet, and hashbrowns are crispy. 4 star for doing a job well done! read more

I am a retired Public Health Registered Nurse. I observed the manager stand in from of the counter where the food was placed for the waitress to pick up; talking over food to the cooks in the back. she was handling trays with food, put butter In cups etc. Without gloves on and she didn't have on the restaurants shirt. I observed her wiping her hands on the sides of her pants at one time she ficked her nose with her finger. Her name is Machelle. I don't ever want to eat there again! Did door dash. Denny's was the only place close by that actually had onion rings as a side so we tried it. It took about 45 minutes which was fine but by the time the food got there it was cold. The french fries were hard some were burned they gave you less than a handful at that. The onion rings about six of them small burnt cold. Upon arrival myself and my grandson were seated fast. Two families came in five minutes later and they were waited on before us. They were talking their orders,I called the waiter over and advised him and he said that he wasn't our server. I told him that doesn't matter we were here first, he agreed. Coffee and our breakfast came fast before the other families. Coffee was not very good. I got the grand slam eggs and pancakes were good and the sausages were cold in the center. Grandsons chocolate chip pancakes were not to his liking. The place was getting busy and they seemed to be way under staffed and confused at times. Waiter never came back to ask how things were. We will never go back there. We went to McDonald's right away so my grandson could have a better breakfast and I could have a better coffee. read more

I'll start upon entering. There was no line. I was the first in line, or at least I thought so. I didn't realize by there was an elderly couple sitting by the entrance waiting to be seated. There was another party of 4 by the video games also waiting to be seated. I was puzzled because the entire counter was empty and there must have been at least 6 or more tables and booths empty and clean. ( Again, I just entered) two people right in front of me, at the register. No greeting. No eyes contact. A guy at the counter. No eye contact. Oh, here comes a waitress. No eye contact. No greeting. It's been about 5 minutes now. An elderly couple who came in about a minute after me turns and asks me, "did they take your name or anything?" I say " no, just waiting my turn". My little son had of from school, so really wanted to have breakfast at DENNYS. ( That just opened up, mind you) another 5 min go by when a woman with a clip board comes and finally asks "ok, who came first?" The older couple that was sitting on the benches stood up and said they've been waiting a long time. They were seated. The party of 4 were also seated. I was next. So I thought. Clip board lady came back and took my name and 4 other parties behind me. (Again, there were many seats available, everyone on line was puzzled by the wait and the ignoring. It's been 15 minutes plus by now. I want to say longer, but let's just say, out of kindness 15 min. One couple decided to say " can we sit at the counter?" And a very young looking man says " sure, let me get you a setting". There happens to be a basket of settings right at the entrance line where me and my son are standing. We were leaning against the wall i believe, i can't remember. But as the guy was getting the settings , he tells me and my son, "Can you step back and away from this table?" . The couple behind me made the first comment by saying " omg! Everyone's been waiting here patiently without questioning what's going on with the lack of service, and the person decides to be this rude?!" I turn to the waiter or host, whatever he was, and reply " sure. I think I'll back right out the door. I take my son's hand and apologizes to him and say " cmon little buddy, let's go to the IHOP down the street". The couple say to " you're really going to leave after waiting over 20 min?!" I said to her " i sure am. They just opened up and have an attitude like this? They won't last". And we had a great time at Ihop. We'll also enjoy the WAFFEL HOUSE that is opening right across the 95 by TRADITION. Or even the Berry Fresh cafe right across the street from the Dennys . I don't know what is the saddest part of this. The experience of going thru this. Writing about this incident, or when someone reads it. Such a shame. Someone created this amazing brand name. That lasted for decades. And People like the people working in the Dennys, comes along and ruins all that dedication and hard work in a matter of minutes. read more
