OMG DO NOT GO HERE! Disgusting! The bathrooms were more disgusting than an outhouse. The food was terrible! A lot of the food was completely out the entire time we were there which was probably a blessing. I think the big sign at the cash register that says NO REFUNDS should have been enough of a red flag to stop us from going on in. I've never seen a no refunds sign at a buffet. read more

I mean, it is Golden Carol so they're not always the best for having consistently good food and it is a hit or miss but what drops my review is the absolutely awful service from the manager at the register, her name rang up as Andrea on the ticket. From the moment we walked up and spoke she was being incredibly rude and short with us and snappy. Her attitude almost had us leaving and avoiding the place entirely. When you're up front you're the first thing customers encounter, don't make us want to turn away entirely. Waitors/Waitress tend to be unresponsive to tables and don't check in too often but that doesn't bother me as I know how it feels to not get to everyone due to other tasks in the kitchen/drink stations. What we were not impressed with is one of the manager ladies reprimanding the baker lady, while she was working, where all the guests could hear. Stopped by on a road trip so that we could all get something different to eat. As far as the food goes, they had a good variety. I like the BBQ section (pulled pork, different sauces, and text toast) and the salad bar best. The fired chicken was average (more flavor needed), the tots were excellent, and the mashed potatoes were really bland, so I'd skip those in the future. Unfortunately I cannot give no stars which is what this golden corral needs. Angie was very unfriendly. We had to look for our server constantly for more drinks. It was obvious by Angie's attitude that the food was not at the proper temperature or cooked correctly. When we first arrived the restrooms were closed while they were being cleaned. Once they were finished we went to the restrooms to find they weren't cleaned very well with feces on the outer bowl of the toilets. I wouldn't recommend this Golden Corral and will not he returning. read more

Traveling across the state, my husband and I decided to stop in for some dinner. We were both highly disappointed. Pretty much all the meat was extremely dry. The Garlic Parmesan Wings were flavorless and dry. The ribs were so tuff to eat, it hurt my jaw. I gave up. The rice was hard and not cooked all the way. Not even sure where to begin. No straws, napkins, refills, three piles of dirty dishes on the table when I had to plead with a passing server to please take them because we had no idea who our server even was until about 7 minutes before we left. We asked for rolls because there were none out and were told we have to ask our server, but that he (another passing server) would get us some. There were 5 of us and he brought 3 rolls. The men's bathroom was so disgusting that my husband had to send my son into the ladies room to use it. Almost all the dessert toppings were empty. When we are ready to leave I see the manager to let him know what went on and the excuse I got was that it was the 1st of the month and they always get busy on the 1st of the month. As long as you know that you are walking into a chain restaurant that is a buffet, this place is ok. No expectations for 5 star meal. So, in Gallup, I have found two salad bars. One of those salad bars is here at Golden Corral. I was happy to be able to make a big plate of salad with the choice of so many toppings. I also tried a piece of steak and some veggies. I would not of gone here if it wasn't my father's favorite place. My father is by no means a cuisine connoisseur, he's a simple man with simple pleasures and Golden Corral is his choice. I have one rule in life - - I do not eat at buffets. Not only because of the uncleanliness but I also don't eat that much. We were in line to get our plates and utensils. The plates were being touched by everyone who were moving them around to find a plate that looked decent enough to eat off and every utensil I picked out had some kind of food stain on it. I cringed a little but didn't want to say anything in front of my father since he was paying. I had a salad, the fried chicken was decent, steaks were a little overdone, but the pot roast was really good. The fried shrimp tasted old and fishy. We didn't even try the dessert bar except for the Jello-O. All in all, I don't think I'll be visiting this restaurant unless my father wants to eat dinner together again. read more

Went there today around 11 for lunch....we were the ONLY customers....we should have just left.....all the food bins were full but stuff looked dried out....I saw several employees adding liquid's to dried out food instead of changing it out..... My boy friend ate some crab salad and immediately had to go to restroom.... A employee that served us water started cleaning stuff while we were trying to keep the spoiled food down, with a nasty rag......who cleans in front of diners? After my boyfriend made his second trip to the loo, it hit me too.....we left and made it to another bathroom just in time.....we will never go back EVER.....they don't care..... Just look at the outside of their building and see the back side, its filthy, I don't want to think on what the kitchen looks like. The owner has no pride.
