I was hesitant to stop at this location because of all the negative reviews.... BUT, I didn't want to miss my lotaburger while driving from Colorado to AZ. I'm glad I didn't listen to the reviews and miss my favorite hamburger! I ordered online ahead of time while we were pumping gas- the earliest pick up was in 30 minutes but, they had it ready about 10 minutes early when we got there! I tried my husband's plain hamburger and it was good BUT, I gotta have my green chili cheeseburger! It did not disappoint and neither did the onion rings- it was all hot and fresh! It was lunch time on a holiday weekend and they had plenty of friendly staff working hard and serving a busy crowd in the drive through and inside too! read more

Blake's is kind of the In and Out Burger of New Mexico. We popped into Gallup and Twyla was so excited to go here; she loves Blake's! As is par for the course in N.M., we went after the green chili cheeseburger. I actually thought that it was rather good! The flavor profile was awesome! The chile added just the right amount of heat and the flavor that Hatch Chili's are known for. It is all counter service. Th are many offerings on the menu and my onion rings were mighty tasty. While in town and driving down the strip this place caught my attention. My first thought is do I really want a burger and fries? My second thought was why not try it anyway? To my delight my burger was cooked perfectly and tasted fresh. The chili cheese fries I had showed a bit of a kick which was just enough to make it tasty without being spicy. When you walk in you are taken back a bit by the appearance but don't judge this book by the cover. This has to be my new favorite burger joint. I had the Lotaburger with green chili's and cheese and Blake's sauce and am in love. It's just spicy enough. My daughter never eats burgers and devoured it. read more

The Lotaburger I ordered was good but my wife's order was not correct, she press the Pepsi and it gave her Dr Pepper and both restrooms needed to be cleaned up a little and there was annoying fly bugging us as we sat and ate other than that the food was great read more

I LOVE Blake's bacon breakfast burrito. It's been a while since I went to this location in Gallup, but when I come here, I'm never disappointed. Their customer service is always good, and they make really good burritos. It also appears they remodeled this location. The entrance to their bathroom door is really nice and the tabletops are nice as well. read more

I visited this location on a road trip and I was very impressed. I got the Lotaburger with green chili and cheese. The restaurant was clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and my food was cooked just right. The fries were crispy, and the soda was very good. On my next trip through NM I'll definitely be stopping by again. Thanks for the great experience guys! read more

It was satisfying and probably the best burger in town. That combined with the sleepy service forced me to give this place an A-OK. One of the best burger places around. Period. I have been to many burger joints and fast food places in my life, and Blake's is like no other around. Although you'd think it's a fast food place, it isn't. The burgers are made to order, so they aren't served almost instantly, and this goes for every item on the menu. Everything is made after ordering...so be prepared to wait, but the wait is worth it. I've gone to Blake's for breakfast, lunch and supper on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. I can highly recommend the burgers and the burritos...I've not had the hot dogs, so I won't say anything about those. My favorite is the double meat Lotaburger with green chile, cheese and bacon. The burger comes standard with lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles. The customer has the option of adding ketchup and mustard after getting the burger. The burgers are always well-cooked...never half raw or cold, but always hot. This is far better than many McDonald's, Burger Kings or Sonics that I've been to. The green chile is usually a good bright green and is fresh. It's never too hot or too mild and adds just the right kick to the burger. The fries, seasoned fries and onion rings are also VERY well done, and any one of them makes a great side to a good bacon green chile double cheeseburger. For breakfast, the burritos are beyond compare. Simply put, they are the best hand-held burritos in this part of New Mexico. I recommend the Number One (bacon) with red chile...I realize everyone says that green chile is what we eat in New Mexico, and we do...LOTS of it...but the flavor of red combines better with that of the bacon than green does. Green, however, is best with the Number Two (sausage) burrito, again, just my opinion. Blake's also makes a great carne adovada burrito...truthfully, you can't go wrong with anything you order at Blake's. If you're passing through New Mexico, you really should stop at a Blake's...it's a New Mexico icon, and worth trying. The food is well prepared, the prices are reasonable, and you'll probably find yourself wanting to come back again. Anytime I leave New Mexico, I find myself missing Blake's, and when I get back home, I usually head into town for a bacon green chile double Lotaburger when I have the chance. This has always been a family favorite, but today was a terrible car trip food experience! The food took over 30 minutes to come out (two kids and two adults) the burgers were cold and the buns were stale. They forgot to make drinks and then overfilled the shakes so much that they spilled all over the place down the sides. They double charged us for one item and then acted indignant when asked to correct it. The food sat at the counter for ten minutes because they forgot to make a side and when I asked to just take what was ready (for my 3 and 5 year old) but they said it would be just one more minute and made us wait until the whole order as ready (again ALL the food but the onion rings was cold)!! Overall it was totally subpar and has changed how I feel about the Blake's as a whole. Very very disappointed! read more
