They have an array of delicious salads and the fried chicken was pretty good. We also had a delicious array of desserts.

The person who served us asked for the receipt--for no apparent reason--after we had already paid, and did not bring us the correct drinks. They never refilled our sodas, yet they were asking everyone else for their receipts--to the point where some customers even had to go back and pay again. Food is plentiful from many buffet tables in a large restaurant. Breakfast was available briefly. Check the schedule. Lunch at 11 replaced the breakfast on two Saturdays i attended parties in the party room. Hot food was good enough, not marvelous. It had to be quick with high turnover for a buffet restaurant. So flavor was largely lacking. I had sausage with fresh omelets to order for breakfast For lunch, I took small servings if meats, pulled chicken, vegetables and rolls. Pie, cake and soft serve ice cream for dessert. Others with my party favored fried chicken or tacos. There's more than I could try. Many happy customers lingered. Wait staff service refilled drinks, ciearing plates, vysses emity tables. Party room service varied a lot. One was great, quiet, efficient. A+ On my second visit service was scarce, dirty dishes not removed. So I don't know the standards. Use the party room for a large group. No reservations. Haven't tried for dunner yet. When we were seated, I noticed a nasty smell immediately. Was it the carpet? The booth? Another customer heard me mention it to my husband and he said he was wondering what the smell was. Food was mediocre. Staff were nice. To the person on here who said people are overreacting and need to realize they're not at a 5-star restaurant needs to understand this. When people go into a restaurant, be it 5-star or not, we expect a clean atmosphere, good service, clean tables, salt and pepper shakers that don't stick to your hand when picking them up, sticky bathroom floors and no soap, the place not to smell moldy and no dried food on "clean" plates and silverware. My father & brother went to this location on January 7 2020 after his doctor's appointment. They have not sat down in a restaurant in awhile due to Covid so they decided to go sit & have a nice meal. They did not know what to expect since a buffet could not be offered due to safety restrictions. Once they sat food was brought out to them but once both of them started to eat; did not enjoy the taste & was not pleasing at all. Our father was not feeling well so my brother told the cashier that the food was not good & she said no refunds are given; then he asked to speak w/ a manger which came from the back from cooking & said it's nothing he can do very rudely & left. So -really I would do a solid 3.5. We don't stay if we can see it is crazy busy and trust me it gets CRAY there. People are lined out the door and outside. Nope- not doin that. But, when it is calm and quiet like today because we were both off- we went to lunch. It's $10 a piece without a drink. Well $9.49 plus tax. We had a nice server Alma- who kept an eye on us , took plates, brought more water and chatted friendly vibes. The food is good. They have a smoke house area of meats a nice salad bar and soups and desserts and lots of choices. Kids and adults will be happy. But, I'm only happy when it is not slamming busy. I can't take the amount of people and chaos that comes with that. The price is a bit higher, but you don't leave hungry that's for sure. Overall a solid 3.5. It's not fine dining- so don't expect fine dining. Just go and enjoy a menagerie of foods and take an antacid before hand. You'll have lots of fun choices and do tiny amounts so you can try it all. This is the type of place who think a lot of crappy food is better than an average amount of good. There was a roach on the wall when I was eating my okra. I was very terrified because my food was in danger cause the roach was looking like it would pounce on me at any moment. I saw a fat rat in the driveway and it greeted me by running over my shoes. I was very scared at this point and when I got to my car a homeless man walked to the window and asked for a dollar, not considering the no loitering sign on my car window!! Stopped here to see how they were operating currently. Like most restaurants they seem to be short on staff. A woman that I assume must be a manager was the cashier. After she rang people up she was going to look for a spot to seat them. Each time she returned to the register, another employee would stop her to address some issue or concern. Then she would take the people to their seats. Again as she would return to the register another employee would stop her or she would grab a broom and dustpan and start sweeping. I understand they are limited seating and social distancing people, but this was maddening to watch. She also was apparently the only person that could answer the phone as she was trying to speak to someone on the phone as she was ringing us up on the register! Not impressed with this level of customer service at all!! They are still requiring masks to enter. The soda machines are all disabled and your server brings the drinks. When you go up to get any food you have to put plastic gloves on both hands and wear a mask. I appreciate their efforts as I understand the buffet style is highly endangered because of the pandemic. However, there were people stepping over the chain barriers, cross contaminating foods, not wearing masks/gloves, etc.. I heard employees telling people that they must have gloves/masks on, but I am sure it is an endless battle! As far as the food, I just don't feel any of it is that special to justify the prices they charge. As I said there was cross contaminating of some foods (the ranch dressing was almost orange because of people spilling the French dressing into it) as well as other instances. There were several tables with dirty dishes piled up on them still. The floor had food crumbs and bits and pieces scattered about. I was just not impressed and will not ever return. The star is for the waiter. He really was great, friendly and attentive. We walked in and waited upfront for 5 minutes. Place wasn't busy. There was no line. So obviously the register person is nowhere to be found.... We proceeded to go sit, planning on asking the waitstaff to get someone to ring us out. Instead the trashy female comes around the corner yells across the restaurant that we need to pay. I walked upfront and as she continues to finish whatever she was eating, I tell her we were going to sit and ask for someone to ring us out. She says "all you had to do was sit here and wait" as she continues to chew whatever she's chewing. I proceed to pay when she says with a shitty attitude "can't you see I'm multitasking?" Very noisy. Young 4 to 8 yr old children where running unsupervised in food corridors used by adult/senior customers. Fried chicken was very good. Buffet was 19.85 for Seniors so was expensive. Had no desert left. Entrance doors are extremely difficult to open due to high fan air discharge rate. Had to get help. I generally love Golden Corral. Visited many in Indian, Minnesota, & the location near Appleton. All positive experiences with great food. We were extremely excited to have a Golden Corral a mere 5 minute drive from our house. Unfortunately, this location was underwhelming, to say the least. Decided to go on the eve of our 8 year anniversary for lunch. $20 for both of us to eat was a great deal, especially a buffet. While picking our table I noticed empty dishes everywhere on tables and food stains on the carpet. I could tell the wait staff was overwhelmed. Now onto the food. Green bean casserole: nearly cold Meatloaf: tough Bourbon chicken: extremely salty Pulled pork: dry Corn : never had worse in my life Steamed broccoli: not steamed, hard Fried chicken: not bad! Pancakes: not cooked, still had batter in the middle The dessert section was solid enough. Banana pudding and cremé brule were my favorites. Aside from the fact that I knew it would be awful based on reviews here, I stayed neutral, I was with people who were impossible to please with a menu. Firstly, I had the distinct pleasure of walking around piles of vomit before I had even paid for my meal (first mistake). Secondly, I was the only customer with enough heart and grace to thank the poor young man who got bitched at to come clean it up, I was livid. After all this greatnesses I was greeted by a toilet covered in half dried on pee (second and final mistake). WHERE IS THE STAFFING! What can I say about Golden Corral that hasn't already been said about Afghanistan? I kid, I'm a kidder. Having never been to a Golden Corral previously, I can only base my expectations on rumour, hearsay, and bad internet memes. I have been to their competitor only once (OCB), so I assumed that the GC would be on par with that. I must admit that the food was probably better that the OCB. Maybe because it was this location's opening week, or maybe because GC cares more about their product. Was I impressed? I wouldn't go that far. The selection was large (as you would expect), but the choices were all very "safe". There was a large salad bar (virtually untouched by anyone) and a large dessert selection (as you would expect). In between was all of your comfort food favorites. I had the pot roast, fried chicken, smoked chicken, pork steak, ravioli, corn, and mashed potatoes and gravy - yes, all in one meal, and no, I'm not proud. I left full, and full of regret, which met my expectations. What I was most blown away by was the thruput that they are able to accomplish here. Every seat had a butt in it, and some butts filled two seats. Lines moved quickly and plates were cleared as quickly as they were pushed away. My server was quicker to clear a plate than she was to refill my beverage, but she was always moving so I can't slight her for that. I will be curious to see what this location looks like in 6 months. It was very clean upon my visit, but it was the first week; everything was still new. I walked in with my 7 year old son. The lady working charged us for the lady behind us in line. She completely lost herself and could not figure out the refund or how to give me my money back. She screamed at me in front of my child as a patiently waited. I made one request after standing in there for 10mins and the line forming out of the door, to speak to her manager. She kept screaming at me she included profanities and was incredibly rude and beligriant. I called back after I finally received my money and left very peacefully (the cashier was still yelling and causing a seen). The woman who was so awful answered the phone (I believe her name was Alicia) and refused to let me speak to a manager and hung up the phone on me. This is the absolute worst customer service ever!!!! She scared my 7 year old son and frankly me as well. What a nightmare!!!! read more

Prices went up commensurate with lack of quality. You didn't really have that wiggle room, Golden Corral. My guests were brought on my suggestion around 630pm today. The salad bar which is 1 of my main draws had evidently reached its limit of ranch dressing, boiled eggs n general upkeep for the day, the only appealing meats were not refilled in the hour we dined and even their trademark yeast rolls were hard to come by. We wont be back readily and def not late day. Our server/attendant was fantastic. I'm so embarrassed to have been the reason my party was there.
