Parking isn't too difficult to get here and the decor is what you'd expect out of a diner. The food was prepared hot and to expectation with the usual set of butter and syrup. My sister and I were out late and decided to stop for dinner at 2:40am on 7/25/26. I usually love the service and food at the Howell Ave GW, but it was a very poor experience. There were 3 women behind the grill and a man waiting tables. We put our order in at 2:45. I ordered a hamburger with a few fried onions, french fries and pickles on the side. My sister ordered a bowl of chili. She was asked if she wanted onions and sour cream to which she said yes. There were several tables with customers and one at the counter, along with a Door Dash. It was 3am and we had not received our food so my sister asked if our order was almost ready. The man at the counter was also asking when his food was going to be ready. The waiter said oh, I'll check; then didn't come back for several minutes until he saw my sister looking at him. He said they were finishing up my fries. He brought the plate and then questioned again what my sister wanted on the chili. My hamburger was barely lukewarm, the fries weren't done, and the pickles were on the hamburger. My sister's chili was room temperature (something wrong with the soup warmer?) and the onions were big chunks rather than being diced. I don't know if training was being done but this was not up to the usual excellent service and food I normally enjoy. I was hoping merely to avoid catastrophe when I pulled up on what seemed at first glance a climate challenged house of waffles boasting 24-hour food service and a no refund policy... really? why and how does that get posted in the store? I had to pick someone up from the airport in the wee hours of the morning after their flight was delayed multiple times. Milwaukee was having bad weather, so I left much earlier than I apparently needed to because I got to the area with an hour to spare. Given the lack of places open after midnight by the airport, I chose to stop at George Webb's and get a couple of things to help pass the time. I ordered mozzarella sticks and a bowl of chicken flavored noodles. The mozzarella sticks were Italian breaded, which I like, but they were still cold on the inner most part. Not sure why that's hard to screw up, but ok. Chicken flavored noodles is George Webb's take on chicken noodle soup, but literally with just a neon yellow chicken flavored broth and noodles. I shouldn't have expected much given the disdain I had for Webb's before this stop, but my god this soup is just lazy. If you don't want to include bits of chicken in it, at least add some carrots and celery. Pathetic. read more

I went back on my first night after moving back to Milwaukee following a 12 year absence. The cheeseburgers and fries tasted the same. I enjoyed my meal and the food helped absorb the Rehorst Vodka. The servers who work at this location are always so kind and courteous. Their customer service skills exceed what anyones expectations might ever be. As I'm not a "regular", I don't honestly know what to get. Each time I've been here (this is my 3rd experience) the servers have helped me out. I've had the pleasure of being helped by 2 different people in these trips. Both ladies were top notch! Tonight's server is Angie, and I've had her twice. Angie is one of the best servers I've ever seen. Polite, helpful, and not just to me- but every customer I watched her greet and serve. The aroma of good food at a great price wafts in the air. Same delicious food that was the staple of my existence after High School 28 years ago. Come for the coffee and chili but stayed for the show. Breakfast for dinner. Dinner for breakfast this place is INSANELY GOOD!! They're open 23 hrs and 59 minutes a day 365 days of the year and if you don't know what time it is, they have two clocks. George Webb turned away, in a very dehumanizing way, a homeless man who was brought in but a paying customer for a warm meal during a big, freezing winter storm. They were rude and flat out mean. When I called to ask about this, the corporate location assured me this was not policy and they felt as deeply concerned about this as I did. Then I received text messages from another number that said they don't allow undesirable behavior, the man was only sitting down waiting to order, not bothering anyone.
