This visit was for Thanksgiving. I was really shocked to see how many people were here waiting to eat. The line went out the door. I was really surprised the line moved pretty fast considering how many people were there. We didn't have to wait long after we paid either. Got a table pretty fast. The line to get turkey and ham was long but I give props to the workers they did an amazing job getting everything out as fast as they could. Well organized and definitely impressed that it went as smooth as it did. The food was pretty good too.I am not big turkey eater I'd rather have the fried Chicken it is really good and moist and it did not disappoint. Our waitress was very friendly and on top of plates and dishes and. Checking on us. The manager was present checking on tables and staff making sure everything went smoothly. When food ran out the employees refilled pretty fast. There were 4 of us and we all were very happy with this visit. If I could give this location zero stars I would please for your own safety don't eat here my mother ended up getting food poisoning from this location when I called to report the issue the manager told me he had received 4 other complaints about under cooked chicken, he ended up transferring me to a different manager that started to argue with me I simply asked to take better food safety precautions which he replied that he would but who knows if he will unless you like staying in bed all day vomiting, diarrhea and feeling like death do not eat here. read more

This has been the best Golden Corral experience yet. The employees were very friendly from the minute we walked in. The restaurant was very clean as well. The food selections were very good and fresh. My husband and I are seniors so we get the senior discount as well. Our server, Kalana was a lot of fun and she kept coming back to our table to make sure we had everything we needed. You can tell when someone loves their job, and she does. We both left very full and satisfied. Thank you to each of you, including the singing cook who makes the fried chicken. Love your positive outlook. We will return soon! Been to several Golden Corrals and this food was horrible! The desserts were limited and bad also!

Went here over the weekend to eat when we first entered the register person wasn't friendly at all or welcoming continued to the table and got our drinks went to the buffet then sat down to eat too a bite of the "baked" chicken just to find out it was raw and requested a manager when they arrived they asked if we were local didn't give us time to respond then went to "check the chicken" then never come back. Horrible experience and won't be back worst $40 spent. Don't go here. read more

My husband and I had lunch today here. I had cravings for potatoes and this place satisfied me with all the choices they offered. Steak Fries, bake potatoes, mashed potatoes, so delicious!! The salt wasn't overpowering the taste of the food and the sugar was appropriate. Thank you so much. I was able to enjoy my meal. I loved that as soon as they opened the employees were happy to comply with the masks! Someone stated: Does everyone has their masks ready? It gave me a confortable feeling of safety :) They sanitize, had gloves, and an assistant to handle the dishes. It was harmonious, the customers kept their distance and everyone that I saw had a mask, employees and customers alike. The food was so good, I was so thankful that it is open; I will be back with my family. Ps/ If you have Brandy for your waitress, you are in luck, she is very professional, she is aware of your drinks, your dishes and any questions you might have. I wish I could give a negative number of stars. Had breakfast here and it was terrible. This location has never been great, and I hoped that the new location would have had some more improvements. Not the case at ALL!! The food was awful. The service nonexistent. The space is much smaller and loud. Watched the manager walk through asking large tables how their food was, didn't bother asking tables with 1 or 2 people. Wish he had asked me. This is disgusting . Ants in my drink' and all over the fountain for juice . When I got my burger there was a fly on the bread. . When I saw the steaks they were green! This place has really gone down the toilet. The food is sub par. I know that it is cafeteria cooking but a little seasoning here and there would make it better. The cleanliness of the salad bar is horrible. Don't go. Not to say anything of the customers. At least put a CLEAN t shirt on before you go out. Also, you might not know it but you can go back and get more instead of having a plate so full of food, it's falling off the sides. read more

If i could give this -5 stars i would. I called a week ago to "book the party room". When i called i was told the party had to be 25 or more to reserve the room. I was having around 30-35 people come. So me and the manager Rob booked the room for 2/28/2019 from 6:30-8:30. I called the day of the party to ask if it was okay that i arrive at 6:15 to set up the balloons and banners, i was told that was perfectly fine and wouldn't be a problem.. the room wasn't booked for anyone else before hand. When my party arrived we were told the room wasn't ready.. we waited 20 minutes to get back to our "party room". When we finally got to go back the room was PACKED with other customers and we hve 2 tables that sat 24 people. That was all the tables we had at the time of arriving. I spoke with the so called manager Rob.. again. He informed me that they weren't allowed to hold party rooms and didn't have a designated party room. I asked him why i wasn't told that over the phone and his reply was we will reserve some tables after people finish leaving. I was very disappointed in our first experience at this new Golden Corral. My family has always loved going here and this was just the worse experience for a surprise party. It was a complete disaster. I would like to thank the 2 servers that assisted us this evening. Took my son here after school. We sat got our first plate, ate that, went back for seconds starting eating that when a baby roach crawled across our table. I immediately showed the waitress she says "oh no ill go get the manager just keep it there dont let it get away" what!?!? I worked as a bakery attendant at this location this past year. I loved my job as I made 2,196 yeast rolls per day, pizza dough balls, loaves of bread, cakes, pies, served hand dipped ice cream, made cotton candy, and decorated assorted treats for display. O also made pizzas and with the dpigj i made. Excellent experience and I learned a lot about the food service to add on to what o already know. Now to be honest this was the worst management team I ever worked for in my life. My job consist of seeing what it oa like working for an unorganized establishment. The cooks are all black guys, the bakery is ran by Marlene the Mexican lady who does all the work.Mexican cooks and black cooks. White waitresses. If you see a black waitress it's only 1. Or 2. I applies to be a server and the managers and assistant managers put me where they wanted me. I begged to be a waitress and the manager jack kept yelling me to clock in do what he wanted me to do and go home. I kept trying to talk to him but he wouldn't ever listen and he actually just told me February 28 2015 at 7 pm to clock out just go home and come pick up my last check. I was very hurt because I loved,the job, customers loved me, & I was nothing more than criticized and over worked. I never took a break there. I worked double shifts some days. I was discriminated against. Jack and Tina vasques gave me hell. Tina Vasquez is and was having sexual affairs with the black men at golden corral. Her husband roman Garcia is a cook there. Tina was very rude to me and I did not respect her because she was a pathetic manager. Her sister in law was a bakery attendant along side me Claudia Garcia and she was nasty and rude. Jack just hires Mexican and black cooks. The Mexicans can't cook worth a damn, they don't know how to season shit and I know because I worked my ass off there pretty much I seen the truth. The black guys can cook well! The Mexicans are just fast. Jack circles around his workers just to make sure they are doing nothing more than working. He is a non confrontational weak manager. His cooks take and 1 of his managers are partnering up taking his meat and food items right out selling it and cooking it and giving it away. And jack wonders why food cost is up. I've never worked for such a bad place. They stressed me out so bad I had to go to the hospital. I hate I let that place stress me. I walked to work there in the ice and snow from my hotel living on the edge trying to pay for a hotel and they really really over worked me and jack is racist. He loves his white servers though. Black's are slaves to him Mexicans make it faster. The taco meat is leftover meatloaf chopped up. That's what they were doing when I worked there the BOH IS A COMPLETE MESS. FOOD THROWN EVERY WHERE IN THE COOLER AND SINKS. YOUR BEST BET WOULD BE THE SALAD BAR AND SOMETHING GRILLED TO ORDER. THE CAKES ARE PATHETIC.... THE BREAD PUDDING IS MADE FROM OLD LEFTOVER YEAST ROLLS THAT SET OUT ALL DAY AND THEY ARE CHOPPED INTO SMALL PIECES FOR THE BREAD PUDDING. THE COOKS ARE CARELESS AND ALSO THE DISHWASHERS WERE ALL BLACK GUYS. I DON'T KNOW WHY I WORKED THERE BUT I GAINED KNOWLEDGE OF MAKING DOUGH HOMEMADE YEAST ROLLS GOLDEN CORRAL WAY PIZZA FROM SCRATCH PIZZA DOUGH I MADE PLENTY COTTON CANDY I HAD THE PLEASURE OF BREAKING DOWN THE CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN AND SETTING OUT BEAUTIFUL STRAWBERRIES AND TREATS. Classic example of what not to do. Food was way below average, even when being transitioned from breakfast to lunch. Seems they have gotten lazy since the breakfast all day promo started, burnt bacon swimming in grease, grits so thick you would have to cut with a knife. Advertise omelettes and fresh cooked eggs being available after 11am, which is not the case, pulled out and soups put in the cooking station. Management seems afflicted with a could care less attitude, actually had to wait for a slice of ham to be cut while the asst. manager is on his phone checking sports scores. Have voiced complaints to wait staff and never once had management even check on the problem. Actually wish ratings could be negative to give a proper one. read more

It's been the worst Golden Coral (Shelby, NC) breakfast experience. Our family used to like this restaurant, but after today we are very disappointed, and will never come back again. There was not many selection as it used to be and they can't even keep up with bacon, eggs and biscuits. Two of the customers were complaining about it, there is no food for breakfast, trays were empty so decided to leave and ask for their refund. We should have done the same thing, but we waited patiently, and just grab what's available. We had chicken steak, pork sausage that were hard and dry. Who serve a fried pork rind that's as hard as a rock? Pork rind should be crispy, don't serve it if you don't know how to cook it. The pancakes were burned and we had to stand up in front of the bar waiting for French toast. The salad bar and Mexican food selection is full, but no one is interested to eat this for breakfast. We expect the simple stuff like some bacon, eggs, sausages or ham. And the place stinks too! Our waiter was nice, that's the only good thing, this will be our last visit unfortunately. Golden Coral lost customers today, a family of 6 and the 2 other customers who left complaining about the restaurant. read more
