When I finally asked about my order and how much longer? told it had it happened to be sitting behind the counter ready the entire time, which was frustrating. The food quality was disappointing as well. The smoked wings were only room temperature and Sauce all over them when I asked for it on the side. The hot items were packed in the same bag as a two salads, leaving the lettuce wilted and warm Unfortunately, I didn't have time to wait for a fresh remake since I was already running late. This is my second time eating at Shanes Rib Shack. The ribs were good The grilled chicken strips/tenders were flavorful, especially with the barbecue sauce. The pulled chicken was good too, but the coleslaw was bland. I think I like KFC's coleslaw better. And the okra was cooked well, but it lacked seasoning. I don't eat a lot of salt, but it needed some. The service was great and the atmosphere was country cozy. It was completely empty upon arrival. My friend and I gave them the benefit of the doubt with it being 5PM on a Tuesday. We both ordered the two meat combo with ribs, wings, mac-and-cheese, and fried okra. It was $27 and some change with a drink (to-go cups and they do not refill it for you). Ribs were so dry that we struggled cutting into it with a knife. Chicken was cold, old, and dry. Seasoning and sauce were fine (lemon-pepper & buffalo). Chicken wings and beans were like they had been sitting out all day shortly after eating I started having issues with my stomach to add to it the bathroom was so disgusting we ended up changing our babies diaper on our tailgate vs inside we felt the tailgate was more sanitary will not dine again even if it were free the owners need to do a major re-evaluation of this specific restaurant. I had an online pickup order. I had my niece pick up the order for me. Once the order got to my house I noticed there wasn't a drink which was included in my combo order. I contacted the store and spoke to Madison, the manager on duty. During our phone conversation she kept having a snappy reply to my concern. I asked for corporate's number and she told me "we don't have a corporate, we just have an owner". So I return to my kitchen and noticed that I had 2 extra dinner trays in my bag so I decided to take the bag back to the restaurant to give a visual of the importance of checking the receipt before sending orders out of the door and not relying on customers to ask for cups for a drink which is included with the combo or just being ordered. When there Madison still displayed poor customer service. She ripped the bag open to check the contents and then put my order back in the ripped bag and I had to ask for a new bag. Then I asked for a cup since I had to remind her of the fact she told me on the phone that she couldn't give me money just for the drink. So she gives me the cup and places on the counter with force and I go to get my peach tea which I ordered for there to be no peach tea in the self service area. Then I ask about it. Nate the cashier and person who is giving out pick up orders (got confirmation from my niece who picked up the order), goes to the back and ask about the tea and comes back out with a smile and chuckle and say "we are out of peach tea and not making anymore". Now I realize I'm dealing with people who care nothing about thw customer or the position they hold I request my money. Madison comes back out and process the refund and everything is still a big joke and Nate is looking out the window laughing which I took a picture of which I will be forwarding to Beverly and corporate. read more

I give it 1/2 star thr ribs wre mostly hard and burnt. Did not get the sides I ordered. The baked beans were terrible Even the peach cobbler was nasty. That was a wasted 79 dollars plus change I will never eat there again and would not recommend it to anyone. Came here a few days ago. A server came out to our vehicle and asked if we had ordered yet, we said we were doing it currently online and she went on her way. Order was supposed to be ready at 7:30. I put in the special instructions which vehicle we were in (which was right in front of the doors, i might add)... 7:45 rolls around and we are wondering where our food was. It seems someone brought it out and sat in on the table under the tent outside 15 minutes prior. No one apologized and our food was cold. And adding on, the ribs were not great. Being from Philly i wanted a better taste and selection than i was presented with however they were nice and the food was sub par for a southern spot. Portions were cool however the mac an cheese was velveeta and macaroni, period. The green beans were good. The sweet potato fries were cold. This place was not quite what I was expecting. When I go for barbecue, I like local, individually owned places best and this is a chain. They are from Georgia so they do things a bit differently from local NC places. I wanted ribs, but the just have baby backs and I like St. Louis style ribs, so I did not order them. I really enjoy this place. The bbq actually resembles real meat! If you've ever been to city bbq it's like that, just slightly cheaper (in price and quality). Blown away by the shack potato, I get mine with pork on top. SO. GOOD. Their bbq pork is great, hush puppies are good and the atmosphere is nice. This is my second time eating here and the food is great!!! My favorite is the big dad sandwich. It's BBQ on Texas Toast. You get one side with it. So far I've tried the fries and okra. Both are really good, but the okra is my favorite. If you like peach cobbler you HAVE to order some!!! It's sooooooooo good!!!!!! The inside of the restaurant is super cute. You order your food at the counter, and then they bring the food out to you. Dearrrrrr lord this is great food. And I'm from Texas. This is what I grew up on. I've tried everything in gastonia Lowell as I'm here for work and this is by far the biggest win. But one thing was very annoying. The green beans, they were blisteringly hot. I mean, SCALDING hot. And I poured all the juice out of the styrofoam cup and still. No hope. I couldn't eat them. My new favorite BBQ in the area. One word! FANTASTIC! I had lunch there with two other people and we all three raved about their food. I had Baby Back Ribs with green beans and fries. I had read one review that the green beans were too hot, I assume they meant as in spicy. They were very good, I couldn't detect any spiciness in them other than a little black pepper which the proprietor said they use in cooking them. Stopped at this location because of the great experience we had at the location in Charlotte. Terribly disappointed with the meal! My husband and I ordered the smoked wing lunch basket and it tasted nothing like the other location. The wings were cold and looked as if the grill marks had been colored on. There was nothing smoked about them! I ordered Mac and Cheese as my side and an overwhelming smell of bleach like cleaning chemicals permeated from them that was extremely off putting. They keep up with the orders in a timely manner. I ordered the grilled chicken salad as usual and it was excellent. This place is gimmicky, it's a small place loaded with stuff all over the walls. Order, and sit. Our waitress lady was really nice, came back to check on us often asking how everything was. I got the chicken plate, it was alright. I really liked the sauce. I wasn't like loving it, but I didn't hate it. The Cole slaw was terrible, like, "oooo hell no don't eat that nasty shit" then slap the fork out of your hand nasty. At least to me, you may dig it idk. The fried okra, and those hush puppies were soooooo sooo good. We came here when they first opened, and I wasn't that impressed then.
