Went there on Nov 1st for the Senior Breakfast Buffet to find the Price jumped to $13.49 from $10 and change two weeks ago.Is this a Holiday Bump in Price ? Came here for breakfast since we had a large party and it was a horrible idea. When you walk in you can smell the sewer. When we attempted to to get food there was black stuff at the bottom of eggs from The pan not being fully clean. Majority of the food appeared overcooked and dried out from the sauage, hashbrowns, bacon etc. just wasn't appetizing. Then on top of that we observed one of the cooks preparing waffles tub his forehead and then touch ready to eat food which is a major sanitation issue. My friend who just got married yesterday who is a health inspector attempted to suggest to him that he shouldn't be doing that and he started arguing w her and her husband like they were wrong by addressing his behavior. His manager was right there and saw this interaction he had going back and forth w a patron which is completely unacceptable and unprofessional as well. They were kindly telling him and he exploded. My brother and sister and I brought our families here for dinner with our parents. We waited 10minutes in line to be told that everyone would have to pay in cash because the machine was broken. So my dad - wanting to take his whole family out to dinner for this yearly occasion - has to pay in cash and spend every single dollar bill he has. Next- no steak, no regular bbq meat except on rack of ribs that looked like it had been sitting awhile. EVERYTHING was almost gone. Only thing anyone could really eat and have enough of was fried chicken. The fried shrimp was so tiny that it was basically just tiny chunks of breading with little bit of shrimp and they were fried rock hard ...like pebbles. The sides were all gone and mixed together. No desert plates. The ice cream machine was not working . No chocolate fountain. No special deserts- these were just basic basic. The server was attentive at least to us but I'm not sure who was in charge of stocking the buffet because we were there 2hrs and most items never were replenished . It was so disappointing . The bathroom smelled like human waste and all the toilet paper was gone except a half used roll in the middle of the bathroom floor . She helped me complain to the manager about the dried up food and the missing server other things had either a few pieces or none. The food selection was rather expansive. My first plate has mac and cheese, green beans, cheeseburger, mashed potatoes and brown gravy, and 3 deviled eggs. All but the cheeseburger was good. I didn't prefer the deviled eggs, but they weren't bad, just not my preference! My second plate had fried chicken breast, 2 pieces of pineapple, corn, 2 hush puppies, broccoli, and more mac and cheese. I liked it all! My friends enjoyed the ham and fish as well. You can't go wrong with desserts but the ice cream machine was broken. Service was great. Our waitress was extremely tentative about grabbing our plates! We have eaten at this establishment before when passing through for an event and have been very pleased and satisfied. However it has been a couple of years. I can honestly say I will never stop here again. It is obvious that the owners and managers (if there are any) do not care. We stopped on a Saturday around 3:30ish. I had to find someone to work the checkout. He was pleasant once I found him. During the meal, we had to refill our own drinks. There was no waiter/waitress/other who attended to the used dishes which piled up on the tables. There was spilled food all around the bins. Some of the bins were empty. No one helped to assist when there was a spill of a drink. It seemed the staff walked around aimlessly at times. Then the bathrooms....wow! For the price of the mediocre food you would think you could clean up the bathrooms and repair the toilet paper holders and other broken things. How about an hourly bathroom check to clean them? This place was filthy. It worked, you got our money this time. But never ever again. Nor will I ever recommend this place. Next time we will go down the street to Cracker Barrel. Totally disgusted. I am an over-the-road truck driver and I've eaten at Golden Corral's all over the midwest and east coast. I've never encountered a bad buffet and feel sorry for those of you who have. You cant beat a $8.95 senior rate for a Sunday breakfast. The same goes for the senior rate at lunch (generally $9.50 with drink across the country. Again pls note I said generally, but not always). Just like everyone else in the food business staffing has become such an issue the majority of Golden Corrals no longer have Friday and Saturday breakfast. Its sad staffing issues have caused this but I also say to look at it in terms of reality and that reality is $15 an hour is no longer a living wage. And when you are asked to be part time and on call when needed it gets even harder to get people to stick around. read more

I'm not one to leave negative reviews. I've worked in various customer service positions over nearly 20 years. Even if service is good but not great, I leave 5 stars or 10/10 or whatever the equivalent is because I don't want to mess up anyone's metrics over trivial things. However, the general manager, Elizabeth, was extremely unprofessional. My wife and I came for my nephew's 13th birthday party and had no intention of eating. There were 30 people in our party and the 2 of us asked if we could just pay for drinks. She said "No, this isn't banquet hall." She could have just said "no" or "no, it's against our policy." Instead, she chose to be childish and snide. The cashier and the woman who made our initial drinks were both friendly and welcoming. Our waitress, Brittany, was very friendly and efficient. She saw that we weren't eating and offered to get us a refund because she sees receipts that say "not eating" (or something to that effect) all the time. Brittany came back to our table, apologized, and said the GM said that that was only allowed on weekdays. And again, she could have left it at that. Instead, she said "I already told them it's not a banquet hall. They can't just come get shit for free." Not knowing my sister-in-law had gone to get food and heard the exchange. Again, I've worked in customer facing positions most of my career. I have been a manager. I don't understand how a person becomes a general manager with such an attitude. We were polite. We asked. We didn't sneak in. We didn't eat. She had no reason to act the way she did. Personally, I don't understand why the day of the week matters and I'm not sure when Friday stopped being a weekday. I do understand policy, though. I understand that policies must be followed. If she had just said "no" I would have been annoyed but I would have understood. We chose not to engage. We didn't cause a scene. We didn't walk out. We paid $36 for 2 sodas. We tipped our waitress for our sodas and for being so friendly and hospitable - especially to such a large group. Elizabeth made me feel like a criminal and acted as though we were somehow inferior just for asking a question? It was completely uncalled for. The only things available was the omelette maker (which packed it up at 1045hrs) 8 sausages and a small amount of hash browns. The only reason this gets two stars is because the food was kept fresh and was cooked well. Aside from speaking with the person who rang us up, we never had another employee speak to us. We never had a server speak to or acknowledge us, even though we were sitting in the middle of the restaurant. They walked around us and assisted other tables, but never did anything with us. The manager (Jeff?) was seen speaking with a woman in the center of the floor multiple times beside us but never spoke with us. After leaving, we did the satisfaction survey. Jeff called us the next day and after speaking with him it was clear he didn't think they were at fault and told us multiple times, "If you needed something you could've asked us." I was not quite feeling up to eating lunch, but I wanted to make an appearance and celebrate my brother-in-law on his retirement from the Air Force. The group had reserved the party room in back for this occasion. That being said, I only ordered a drink. The only reason I'm not giving this place a 1 star is because of the awesome waiter we had. He was attentive and polite. We stopped by on our way back home from our vacation. We walked in and received no silverware. Most of the food options were gone. We had burnt pork steaks as they don't serve steak until after 4 pm. We had salads, broccoli and rice. Dinner rolls were hard. The dessert bar was far from impressive as there was minimal to choose from. I've never been to a Golden Corral but by kids (adult kids) insisted we go. I have to say for a self serve buffet restaurant this place was very good. The staff not only was very nice but they came by frequently to clear our used plates. The food wasn't dried out, which is a big problem at most buffets due to sitting under heat lamps but they didn't have this problem. But those warm, fresh buttery dinner rolls...good lord they are sooo good!! I think my only quirk at Golden Corral the dirty carpet and the beverage area being behind the register as you walk in. I would like to be able to serve my own drinks as I'm already serving my own food. Plus when it came to dessert I would've liked to have a cup of coffee without asking permission to do so at a self serve buffet. Having to wait in line to ask for a refill with people coming in also was a bit annoying and an issue servers shouldn't have to deal with while ringing up guests. The carpet well that mostly because some have messy little eaters and I know that's not too much of a problem because children are the corporates haha. P.S...we tip, I know the staff gets paid hourly but when your service is more than you expect from a server...it's nice to show them appreciation for being timely and courteous to their guests!! Took my dad out for his birthday. he chose golden corral. It is a buffet. It is no different than any other Golden Corral except for 2 items. The people care. It is kept cleaner than a lot of places I have eaten. They are very polite here as well as helpful. The second point of differentiation is that some items are good. The hot wings this evening would compete with hooters. And gc is a lot cheaper than hooters. Also I enjoy the seafood salad, salad bar, and sometimes the seafood. It is not always consistent. My children like the dessert bar. I think it kinda depends on the day you go though. Also, I have never tried the breakfast. read more
