I very much appreciated this Cracker Barrel accommodating a catering order for 220. (It was a marching band competition weekend in nearby St. Louis.) Our order was so big, they had to send me up the food chain to make sure they could prepare it. Unfortunately, they did not have a catering van to bring it to the band, but I was happy to pick it up just to get their food. We did the Momma's pancake breakfast for a 8:50a meal. The pancakes were delicious, the eggs cooked well (no stabilizers that added gluten!), and the bacon was delicious. The butter was still frozen, but the tiny glass bottles of syrup delighted everyone in the room. Kids and adults ate up almost everything. 10/10 would order from them again!

We came in looking for some late-evening noms, and we got them! We were seated quickly, and our waitress was fast and accurate! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place feels like an old-time vacation--I always feel like I'm on vacation for some reason when I dine inside Cracker Barrel![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was great as well. It's hard to go wrong when donning at with this place!

Had a great dinner date with the hubby at Cracker Barrel in Troy. The service was wonderful - we got seated right away and our server was very attentive. We enjoy going to Cracker Barrel during this time of year because they offer the country fried turkey which is AMAZING! It comes with 2 sides of your choice, biscuits and cranberry relish (which they forgot - ). Come hungry because it's a large portion or take home leftovers for another meal later. They have other great food options as well and the prices are reasonable. They also have prepackaged $6 Take Home Meals available. We got 2 for dinner the next night - grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and meatloaf with mac & cheese. The manager was friendly, greeted us and inquired of our experiences. I was so full, I didn't mention they forgot the cranberry relish, haha. The highlight of the restaurant is all the merchandise. I love the nostalgic candies and unique gifts. I'll be going back soon and often. This place is a winner winner, grilled chicken dinner.

Decided to give cracker barrel one more try after staying away after the whole logo kerfuffle. Fwiw. I was more upset about the upcoming chain-wide interior remodels than I was the logo. But....in the course of that whole debacle, I, like millions of other Cracker Barrel regulars, learned about not only all the woke and lgbtqrstuv stuff, but also about the food. And I mean WHY the food isn't as good anymore....the fact that stuff is no longer made fresh. It's made ahead of time and warmed up. This explains why the last few times I had the meatloaf it was pretty bad (and this is many many mkt ha before the whole logo imbrolio). I remember thinking "well, I must've gotten here before the next mestloaf is done and this must be the last remaining bit of the last loaf. No biggie. I'll eat it and hope it's better next time". Nope. Like two or three in a row it was bad. Hadn't ordered it since. So back to breakfast....got my usual mommas pancake breakfast. For one...I usually order an extra egg in the scrambled eggs....but even then the eggs are so tiny it's a paltry amount of scrambled eggs. So I didn't bother. Asked for the bacon "not crispy". Someone didn't get the memo it didn't care to make the effort to give me special cooked bacon. The pancakes.....I used to think they had the best pancakes ever. Not so anymore. They're always tough....ive always thought maybe because someone has over mixed the batter. Now....i think k they just make them ahead and freeze them too. That's what they taste like. So....im basically done. I mean look at this sorry breakfast! Fwiw....from now on (when I'm Home and not working out of state) when I crave pancakes I'll drive 45 minutes to a local diner type place on rt66 that's been there forever and just discovered their pancakes. Lordie are the amazing.

It is time to stop going to Cracker Barrel when they advertise home style green beans and it is clear that they came straight out of a can.

The staff was welcoming and patient while explaining the menu to us. Service was just as good as the food, it seemed everyone was in a good mood and that goes straight back to management. The burnt ends were the star of the show, so juicy! My brisket was a tad dry. They also put the sauce in the fridge so it's cold, but there might not be a way to avoid that food-safety wise. Their wings are also really good. The mac-n-cheese side is good. You order at the counter and they give you a number and bring your food out to you. The only other thing I don't love is there's two rooms, the main room and a room off to the side, and especially if you are in the side room, it feels like you are crammed in there with a ton of other people and sometimes it gets really loud. When it's nice enough, we prefer to sit outside as they have a few picnic benches off to the side that are covered.

I like Gouda Cheese and it's not offered on a burger at many places, so I took advantage of this opportunity. Adding bacon to a burger is a no brainer, so the pairing was a winner. For a side, I went premium and enjoyed a side of house-made onion rings. OMG! These rings easily make my top three onion rings. They were huge, sliced thick, the onion still had a snap and the seasoning on the breading was super peppery, which I like. They offer a good variety of draft beers and we all know a cold beer goes well with a smash burger. My bartender was friendly and attentive. She was hustling serving the bar and tables in the bar area. She made everyone feel welcomed. When in Collinsville, I'll be sure to stop by again. They're adding pizza to the menu and I'll have to give it a try.

We ordered our food. Asked for a side of strawberries for our grandson. It was on the menu. It was only 2 berries cut up. Really! My wife ordered the Tom's Sole. Her favorite dish. It came out still half done, soggy in the middle and cold from probably being frozen. It also wasn't crunchy on top like usual either. So she asked politely to the server to have it done more. Upon return a manager brought it over and said that it had originally been done to spec in the kitchen. We were surprised that he was saying this since we didn't make any kind of scene. The burgers are large, the fries come in huge portions, and you definitely won't leave hungry. That said, size isn't everything. For me, the weakest part of the burger is the bun. A great burger starts with a great bun, especially when it's lightly toasted, and Five Guys just misses the mark here. The beef is decent, but the flavor never really stands out or leaves me wanting another bite. Considering the price, I expect more. I would rank Five Guys behind In-N-Out, Shake Shack, and Whataburger without hesitation. I'd even put Steak 'n Shake and Red Robin ahead of it based on flavor alone. If you're looking for a massive serving of fries and a filling meal, Five Guys delivers. But if you're looking for the best-tasting burger, I think there are several better options for less money. For me, it's simply average, and not worth the premium price.
