Mixed bag. My salmon, broccoli, and sushi rice (with GF tamari) were excellent. The fish was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Luckily for me, I am staying next door to Drakes, so our group of hungry travelers walked over and were welcomed with a great atmosphere and some good food. The hardest choice was deciding what to try. I decided to go with the BBQ Burger and it was delicious. The Jalepeno BBQ sauce on it has a surprisingly smoky flavor. The Mac-n-cheese as a side, wasn't bad, but seemed like a traditional Krafts shells, so I'll pick something of different next time. read more

Took our family of 5 to a Sunday after game experience Here in O'Fallon. Both Front and rear dining rooms were moderately busy yet our server seemed overly stressed. Drink service (No alcohol) was reasonably swift. No coasters or napkins are provided for drinks and during our time the table was pooled in water from condensation on the drinks. This was simply annoying. No water was served or offered. Being first time dining experience it took longer for our group to make decisions on choices. This seemed to stress our server more than she appeared. Se was polite throughout. Appetizer was prompt and all liked the Fried Pickles. However when served no additional plates or napkins were provided. They appeared as we were finishing as we believe that someone overheard or comments. The food selections were disappointing. My hamburger was ordered with everything plus extra onions. I got no lettuce or tomatoes, the onions was simply a singe serving. Had I known all there burgers were Smash-burgers, I would have ordered chicken. The volume of ketchup and mustard was excessive and very messy. The fries were okay but I did not see what made them "Drakes" fries. Refills on drinks were offered and they were brought without removing the empty glasses. Just adding to the congestion and the additional water on the table surface. Unfortunately as the head of the table I was not brought my refill that was requested. We were offered drinks to go when we did leave. We had quesadillas and a selection of burgers. The waffle fried sweet potatoes fries were actually the high point or our dining experience. Three of the Five requested take out boxes. Overall grade by all was 50/50. It took what appeared to be longer than usual to get our bill. To be honest the value of the food vs. the level of service and the quality of the food seemed excessive. We spent $150 for supporting our local business. For the record we are not the type that shorts the staff when tipping unless there is something that is grossly egregious. We believe that this atmosphere was not the best for a casual family experience as it was suited more like a sports bar with heavy emphasis on the bars. We appreciate this business for supporting our local schools but we will take our family to more suitable and enjoyable surroundings in the future. read more

After a few trips this year, I had come to expect dissapointment in the places I went to eat at. This time, however, It didn't happen. Thank you Drakes..... I stopped in by myself for a quick bite after flying in. I saw on the online menu that they had a dish that took me right back to 12 years old, so I knew I had to go there. I sat at the bar and was immediately acknowledged by the bartender Kylie (I hope I git that right) as she took my drink and food order. She got my strawberry lemonade immediately. I don't know what kind it was, but it was very refreshing. It didn't have that overpowering artificial sourness one might normally get; no, this one was light and refreshing. About 10 minutes later, my meal arrived. I ordered the fried bologna sandwich. That's the first time I'd seen it on a menu, so I had to order it. It did not dissapoint. I thought it was delicious !! The fries were nicely cooked as well and came with a big fat pickle wedge. Overall, the food was great. The place seemed very clean, and the bar was nice and tidy. It was our first time here and we will definitely be back. We'll also be bringing friends! This place is awesome. When we sat down, there were huge green lounge chairs at one of the tables that we could have chosen to sit in, which really set the vibe for the place. There are huge TVs everywhere, a big selection on the menu, and even a dedicated zero proof section on the drink menu, which I really appreciated. I wouldn't go here for sushi or burgers since they are not the best compared to a place that specializes in sushi or burgers and fries, but whatever, everyone needs a niche right? The Queso burger so good especially if you like spicy such good flavor and fried jalapeños and cheese and seasoning and fresh. This wasn't a frozen burger either. Driving through the Midwest? What a find! Friday night brought us to a bustling restaurant with only bar seats available, so make your reservations! The fresh fish used for the creatively curated sushi rolls and offered Gluten Free options of rolls. What to get? Pretzel bites with beer cheese, although the pretzels were a bit over cooked on the outside, and were brought out with the sushi.. we ate it all. The edamame was nicely steamed with a tinge of spice and sesame seed. The Sushi Rolls were not the best, I expected a bigger representation for the NY roll, and the tuna lovers roll was pretty plain and too much rice. This place needs Bar Rescue help. There were two staff that could actually pour beer from draft.. this one staff kept pouring, and scooping all of the foam head off with a spoon. And then refilled with over spillage. Two customers actually asked for napkins to wipe the glass dry. I will try to upload the video. The second issue while sitting at the bar, the used glasses were placed on the upward stream for rinsing, and not wiped down, when placed for reuse. That's when I thought Managment should be aware. We tried to get the "red shirt" managers, and they were too busy covering tables and the bar. Perhaps they were short staffed this visit? All of the staff was friendly, checked in.. and the main complaint was bringing the appetizer out with dinner, and the waste observed and cleanliness factor was lacking. read more

Service is normally excellent and friendly, as well. My only wish is that there was more proper and additional seating by the fireplace in the cooler months - sitting there eating is wonderful. BLTs and Club Sandwiches are my go-to here, but their BLT salad is hard to pass up! Great place to take the family, the team after a sports event, or even for a date in the evening. Lot's of televisions tuned to all the sports if you want that, too. Came here for the first time today with my coworkers for a going away. Was extremely excited since the menu looks amazing. The booth seats are setup weird but it is what it is, I had only gotten fried pickles since I had already eaten lunch. My coworker got the salad, as she was eating it she said she thought it tasted funny. All of a sudden her fork stop instantaneously like she hit a brick wall, well close enough as she hit a block of ice at the middle, and it was white like it was soap water from the dishwasher that got frozen. When I asked the waitress if it was supposed to be in the salad, her eyes got wide and her jaw DROPPED because it was not supposed to be in the salad.
