Golden Croissant is a small mom and pop shop located in Nederland,Texas. They are owned by a Vietnamese family and offer a variety of croissants, sandwiches, cookies, and drinks. The inside has been renovated pretty recently, and it is a small and quaint shop. The staff is always nice, and everything is priced at an affordable level. I usually come here for lunch. When you order a sandwich, you also get chips, as well. I also like to try their soup of the days, and my favorite is the cream of broccoli. Their cookies are my favorite thing they have to offer. I believe it is their specialty. They are really consistent, made fresh, and soft in the inside. I have tried almost every single flavor and each one has been good. I have also tried their cà phê sữa đá (Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk) a few times, and personally it is not my favorite. It is very dark even with the condensed milk, and I feel like there is something missing. I have had better cà phê sữa đá and prefer the ones my aunt makes at home more. Overall, Golden Croissant is a cute place to grab a small lunch. I think it is one of my favorite places in this small town and has a lot to offer for a good price. I definitely recommmed getting a sprinkle cookie or two when coming here! read more

It's a clever pun which took me a while to get (Golden Crescent), so well done to them for basically out-me-ing me. I prefer my croissants to be a light brown colour rather than golden, but I'll give them a free pass. Excellent bakery to which I was going to give 4 stars for their delicious goods, croissants especially, which are some of the better ones I've had in the United States. But when you consider that it's in a little town and not at all where you would expect to find a good Bakery, it's remarkable, and I have no choice but to award five stars. read more

We ordered a large mixed sandwich tray, a fruit and veggie tray, & 2 dozen cookies for an anniversary party. We arrived a little early and within 10 minutes were walking out the door with all of the beautifully prepared food. (Sorry no pics I was busy setting up for party). All trays were beautifully presented with fresh tasty items. The croissant sandwiches were perfect! And those cookies...wow, so good. I hadn't been here in 10+ years and decided to stop in with my husband when we were in town. It's undergone a very cute renovation, seems like it would be a nice place for breakfast/lunch or even to study during the day! We had an apple danish and lemon croissant, warmed up and both were tasty! They had run out of a few items by mid morning, but still had plenty of other croissants left. It was an okay sandwich place with a lot of basic sandwiches like BLT, Ham&Cheese, etc. Their croissant was the only reason I came to this place and now that I got to taste them, I don't think I'll be back. Don't get me wrong, the sandwiches tasted delicious especially the shrimp salad one but they didn't taste that wonderful for me to come back. They did have some yummy looking desserts like cake pieces and cookies though. Last week, ordered a shrimp salad....a favorite of mine. Never disappointed. However this particular time, I received something other than customary. The salad had lettuce, 2 cherry tomatoes and the shrimp salad. Included were 3 Ritz crackers. NO celery, No carrots, I was in the drive thru, so didn't check my order until I had driven away. I checked the bag at the red traffic light and turned around and went straight back. I asked for a couple more crackers. The same young lady took my salad in the bag and placed it on the counter. She opened the bag and container....adding what a thought was more crackers. Yes....ONE more. Closed the lid, placed it back in the bag.....with the fork placed in the dressing (all over the fork). I had to search for the 2 small cherry tomatoes. Terrible service from this young lady. Bad presentation. Totally out of the ordinary for the service at Golden Croissant. Today, I tried again. Ordered the same....shrimp salad. It was beautiful! Nicely displayed with at least 6 cherry tomatoes, lettuce, celery, carrots, and 6 Ritz crackers! Delicious! I have to say this! Me and my bestie came in at 6:45 this great morning after working out and decided we really wanted some good coffee and some breakfast! I walked in and saw nothing but smiles and was greeted with a happy Goodmorning and I have to say it made my day. The lady at the counter and young man are always extremely kind and welcoming and extremely fast. I've only been here one or two times and always been a great experience!! My first trip here was because my wife purchased a discounted made to order cake that someone turned out didnt need. So when i went in to pick it up i was able to see all they have available. Staff were supper friendly place was clean. What i enjoyed the most about it was the regular cookies were both cheaper and tasted better then great american cookie. read more

This bakery has been around since I was a kid (a long damn time!). I went today and grabbed one of my favorites that is still on their menu--Shrimp Croissant. It's just as delicious as I remember. I picked up almond, peach, strawberry cream cheese and a chocolate croissant, plus some plain because my Pops is a huge fan. They look fresh and smell outstanding! Working on a construction site there is a lot of give and take and sometimes you owe people favors. Get your mind out of the gutter! Favors like a box of kolaches. Another co-worker brought in a box of kolaches from here one day and after eating several, I knew when it was my turn to buy the goods, Golden Croissant would be the place to go. The opened at 6:00 am sharp already for business. I was slightly worried that I would have to wait for the kolaches to finish baking, but that wasn't the case. I ordered a dozen kolaches and a dozen ham & cheese rolls. Upon first inspection they are huge! No mini kolaches here, they take an entire hand to hold. Secondly, they weight a ton. A combination of the pound of butter and a pound of ingredients must account for all of their bulk. I nearly needed a backpack to carry 2 dozen to my car. I wasn't exactly sure how much they would cost until the end, but a simple gesture of appreciation like this is priceless. While some may have gawked at the price of $2.30 per kolache, they were worth it. read more

Of particular note are the almond croissants which are robust, flaky, and natural tasting. The Golden Croissant tends to be more subtle than say Rao's, which in my experience makes me feel near diabetic at times. My family and I visited for our first time and we liked it. The environment was pleasant, and the girls were very nice. We had some pastries and breakfast croissants. Our only complaint would be the breakfast bacon egg and cheese and ham were very cold. Not sure why the food was cold it was kind of weird. The pastries were delicious and were heated up for us which is a plus. Overall nice place, can't say we'd make it our go to spot but we'd definitely be back if we were feeling some croissants. P.s.
