**Disclaimer i don't write many reviews, never hating on a business, but... when there's a business that deserves a good review, I'm not shy to lay one down. First of all, and possibly the best part of the experience, is the amazing smiles that you're always graded with when you walk in the door. A very nice Cambodian family owns this little donut shop. Super polite, super friendly, and I was even given discount today- 3 donuts for the price of two... there's currently road construction going on the main street so it's tricky to get into the donut shop so the owner felt like he wanted to reward me for making the extra effort. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So the ambience is there, the service is perfect and spot on ....[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But how is the DONUT??? Not even joking it's probably one of the better donuts you can find. You're not gonna find a ton of foo foo glitter/fruity pebbles with unicorns leaping out of the center.. not to say they dont have probably over 30 different donut styles/selections, one does have real bacon ontop the maple glaze, another chocolate bar is par with real peanut butter and theres fritters and nut ontop of chocolate etc super light crispy donuts (they must clean their frying oil everyday!!) and creamy, textured, flavorful glazes/dips etc. the flavors and quality are World Class. Not even joking. I've probably never been in there earlier than 8 AM so I could only imagine what it taste like straight out of the dragons belly!!!! (The oven) so I'm not gonna hate on a lot of other donut shops or call anybody out, but sometimes you get a doughnut and it taste like it. It's been sitting there for three days even though they baked it that morning. Other places if you get it right then and there fresh out of the oven it's a decent donut... the donuts are golden donuts though are special.... I got a dozen donuts in the morning a few weeks ago. I gave a few out at work, ate a few of them, and took the rest home to my family. Later that night, my wife was blown away and asked where I got the donut from because she took A Bite. I told her the story and filled her in and we still had a donut left over the next day. two days later after it been sitting in a box while traveled, and somewhat neglected, this little Donut still had a lot of love and life left, unbelievable.... It was still fresh. it tasted better than some donuts I had bought and eaten by 7 AM. That is the end of this boring, but hopefully informative review . You cannot go wrong with golden donuts. The lady who runs this store is super welcoming and refreshing. I come in every now and then in the morning and she's always very nice and engaging. Not only that but the donuts are always fresh (and super fluffy which is my personal favorite). Although the donuts are higher priced then regular I think it's worth it every time. read more

Great little donut shop right off of Auburn in citrus heights is the perfect stop for a morning time breakfast treat! They have the most delicious maple bar donuts at a very reasonable price! Based on my experience back in 2022, the couple who run this coffee and baked goods shop are only kind and hospitable if you enter their business with money to spend on them. One time before my job opened in the bank across the street, I sat inside the business to be cozy and safe while waiting for Wells Fargo to open and just listened to YouTube music on my cell phone. When the bakery owners asked me to turn down the music volume, I honored their request by doing so but that was not good enough for them. They demanded that I buy something and when I told them I could not afford to that day they kicked me out of their baked good and coffee shop by saying they do not welcome me if I was not there to buy things. How disgusting, I will never return regardless of how tasty their coffee and food is. The people who run Golden Donuts on Auburn do not mean the same and anyone has my permission to tell them that I said that. read more

You guys must come here! The donuts here are so beautiful and delicious! I haven't been here in so long and I'm so happy to see it is still here. These donuts can be doused in sugary glaze and topped generously with sprinkles, but the dough itself wasn't too sweet -- it's just yeasty and soft and pillowy and perfect. This wonderful woman seemed so happy when my daughter and I walked in. She loved talking. I asked if they had any custard filed, and guess what? She went and filled it for me, no hesitation! And it was beautiful! My daughter got a chocolate round. She said she doesn't ever want to go anywhere else! Our donuts tasted like perfection! I will definitely be back. It's a donut shop. It is what I remember donut shops to be like when I was a kid. Glass case with a variety of different types. The old fashion, the jelly filled, the custard filled, the bear claws, and the apple fritters. I didn't catch the name of the woman behind the counter.. She was pleasant all the same. You could tell that the people inside sitting at the tables were more than likely regular customers who had a daily routine that included mornings at this donut shop. I was happy with the donuts I got which were bear claws one of which had sweet crumbs all over it. I didn't hang out to experience the rest of the shop I was pretty much just in and out but I would suggest it to those in the area wanting a fresh donut in the morning. read more

Their donuts are good, pretty typical for a little donut shop. But this place is shady. Two separate visits they've over charged me, in multiple ways. First time they added a donut without my knowledge until after I left, probably while I was helping my kid find a juice. This time today, the lady threw a fritter in without my knowledge, again while I was helping my kids get juice. I didn't check the bag before paying. Rang up to 9.25 for two sunny d, two donuts, and a dozen donut holes. Blew me away until I saw the fritter. Even then, the math didnt add up. I'm sure she double charged me for the fritter i never asked for! It's only about $3, but that adds up over time! Wont be back for this shady service! read more

The staff was very sweet and friendly when I stopped by for a dozen donuts. I was pleasantly surprised of how fluffy and light their donuts were. I am not a huge donut fan but I am 99% sure that if my husband were presented with the option of saving my life or saving his maple bar- he would choose the maple bar. He likes this little shop. I have brought in donuts to the office from this place a few times and staff seem to like them as well. This donut shop also have HUGE donuts that are the size of a large saucer. I love this little donut shop!! The owner is the sweetest lady in the world and makes great donuts. Prices are not bad either. The regular round donuts are $0.80 and the bars are $0.90 I believe. Got a dollar? Get a donut. This shop also has amazing breakfast sandwiches which are to die for. Croissants with cheese, egg, and either ham or bacon in them. I live around the corner from this store and go once every few months. This has been the second time that they hardly have any selection. Grabbed a few donuts went to pay and the woman decides she wants to argue with me about running my debt card. She said that she had issues with credit union cards all morning and didn't want to even try to slide it. Final after her getting a line of people she tried, guess what it went through!! She just lost a customer, all because she didn't even want to try to run a debit card. Next time, try running a card first and see if it goes through or declines! read more

The donuts here are really good. I tried several different ones and they were all great. I think I found a new donut shop. For apple fritters and bear claws, I still think Alisa Donuts on Watt and Margaret is the best, but for the rest of the donuts, I think Golden is better.
