This place sure made a name for themselves. It was mentioned by a friend while we were waiting for our table for brunch. A pop in lead to an order of sweets. Right when you walk in, the sweet aroma of fresh baked sweets welcomed you in. There was a good crowd inside which we thought were waiting to order but found out they were waiting for the fresh baked sweet bread. A must if you ever try any. Just looking through the case of all the amazing creation. Basically fancy donuts. One after the other. They also had a few savory items included. Didn't get any but they looked amazing. We ended up going with the bad bundles. Half dozen donuts and 20 piece staxx. Found out that's what people were waiting for when we walked in. Everyone was waiting for them to come fresh out of the oven hence the long wait. It did take a while for us but we were offered a cookie to try while waiting. It was delicious, I do recommend the ube cookies. After what did take a long while, we tried our fresh HOT box of staxx. Let me say, wow they were amazing and of course hot. Straight from the oven. Nice moist bread with a nice sweet glaze. I can see what the hype was about with them. Everyone in line for them. We didn't get a chance to try the donuts right away. By the time we had them, it had been sitting for a while. Still good but better if they were fresh from the start. It was good regardless and this place was great. It can be pretty busy but the wait isn't terrible. Staff is always great. We usually go in the mornings so there are plenty of donuts and other items available. Their staxx are good like always. Nice and pillowy, and filled with melted sugar and butter. You can never go wrong with a box of them. The donuts I think can be hit or miss. It's as close to Starbread as you can get in my area. I've tried the donuts, mochi donuts, and cronuts, some come with syringes of filling (cute idea in three flavors, I think) but I really only come here for the staxxs (seniorita bread). Not a bad price and always a win for something to bring when I'm visiting someone or even potlucks! Went in around 9am on a Tuesday after hearing good things and left pretty disappointed. We bought 3 donuts and a milk, and the total was around $12, which felt pretty expensive considering the quality. None of the donuts were labeled, so it was hard to know what anything was. I asked if any of the donuts were filled and was told that none of them were. Later, I noticed a tray of filling syringes sitting out and realized you can apparently pay extra to have donuts filled, but that wasn't explained when I asked. It just felt like a strange interaction and missed opportunity to help a first time customer. Just tried a box of their ube staxx sold only fri-sun. Definitely yummy! My coworkers devoured it in seconds. The ube taste is not super strong but it does have a slight ube taste that makes the staxx even tastier. It does take some getting used to cause it looks very purple but tastes amazing.
