A great alternative to big chain shops [Sacramento CA] I finally made it back here for a TGTG pick up. Thank you so much for the generous surprise bag. This wasn't my first time here but my visits in the past were far and few in between the first time being almost nine years ago in 2016. Their donuts are fresh and pillowy soft and the best friendly customer service. So many variety to choose from... my youngest loves the sprinkled donuts and son-in-law enjoyed the maple bars. I'm not big on donuts, but I enjoy an occasional chocolate chocolate cake donut and typically I'm able to get some great Vietnamese coffee from places like this. The parking lot has plenty of space, and while the shop is small and doesn't have seating, it's perfect for grab and go service. They have a small fridge with milk and some other drinks in containers, but they make drinks like flavored lemonades, smoothies, milk teas, energy drinks and coffee. Something unique here is they have a lot of quick sandwich options, both breakfast sandwiches and lunchy items. A perfect quick meal. Of course they have donuts as well. Traditional options as well as some cute decorated once. They even added a little extra in with my order just to be nice. The area where the shop is, a bit sketchy. I went and got a variety of donuts around 9am. A small cute donut shop that gets a bit crowded and with no seating. I got a variety of what they had left. We wanted to get some glazed old fashions but sold out already! The donuts are light, airy and very soft. Our favorite was the Apple fritter! Soft and crispy edges and I like the apple chucks! We love donut time. We have been going here since my boys attended CCAA when they were 9 and 7. They are now 21 and 19! We used to go every Thursday before school for a treat. They had simple chocolate frosting with sprinkles, decorated for Halloween. The flavor was good, with no weird aftertaste like some donut places. I ate two right away! There were a lot of people there--it's definitely a high-traffic spot on the weekends. I didn't have to wait long, though. I saw a post about Donut Time on Instagram that was showing off the Sanrio character specialty donuts. I knew I had to take my girls here for a treat. I stopped by on a weekday morning and the shop was tiny but filled with customers. We were lucky that both Sanrio and Bluey specialty donuts were available that day so my little picked out a Bluey donut for herself and we got a My Melody for my older daughter. What time is it? It's Donut Time! We were in the area and the cravings hit....just needed something quick to sustain us running errands. I saw that Donut Time also had croissant sandwiches and my husband will never say no to donuts, so we checked them out. They had Hello Kitty and other character-decorated donuts, all the usual donut suspects, croissant and bagel sandwiches, and boba drinks and lemonades. We got a ham & cheese croissant sandwich, a bacon and egg croissant sandwich, a raised glazed, a hazelnut cold brew, and a blueberry lemonade. $26 later...they also threw in a peanut butter filled donut for free. My husband had to have them make his lemonade over again because they used soda water, and he doesn't do carbonation. They apologized and made his lemonade over. I loved my cold brew. Strong and just sweetened enough with the hazelnut syrup, no cream. I was a little disappointed in my sandwich. It needed something. My husband loved his breakfast sandwich. They were not skimpy with the crispy bacon and the folded egg was thick. I gobbled up the peanut butter donut. It only looked like it would be super sickly sweet, but it really wasn't. The staff/owners/family were awesome! So nice, friendly, and accommodating. Great service! That's the type of mom & pop shop I will always support, even if it's not the best I've had.
