Been driving by for years as it looked scuzzy from the outside. However, recent reviews were pretty good, so decided to give it a try. Walking in, we were the only customers. The place is old and can use modernization but the booths were in good shape. We ordered family plan A for 2 people. Comes with BBQ Pork, wonton soup, broccoli beef, sweet and sour chicken and pork fried rice. Overall the food was OK. Not big portions but plenty to get full. The soup broth tasted like it came out of a can. The broccoli beef was very salty. The fried rice was tasty. The sweet and sour was meh. Nothing here making me want to come back but serves the need if you have a Chinese food emergency! read more

From the outside, it was hard to tell if the restaurant was open due to the large artwork in the window blocking the view inside. I'm so glad that that did not stop us from checking the doors. Everything was fresh, crisp and hot. The food was so good! Even though it was traditional Chinese food you'll get served in restaurants, it had a 'this is how it's made at home' flavor. Decided we wanted some Chinese food and saw this place as we were driving by. I am really glad that we did. Started with potstickers and hot tea. Server was very polite and friendly. Our meal of sweet and sour pork, Mongolian beef and lo mein came out piping hot and absolutely delicious. If you're in the area this is a delicious option. read more

My first time eating here and I've lived in the Harbor my entire life. My husband and I came in for a date night and we got the build your own combo. My chicken was delicious and so tender. The cream cheese wontons were tasty and the tea was piping hot. The owner was so friendly and welcoming. We will definitely return and bring our son next time. read more

Went in for a late lunch. I was the only patron so service was excellent. The owner was there alone so she was the waiter and cook. Ordered the Mongolian Beef. Came out on a cast iron skillet and was sizzling hot which I loved. Nothing worse than lukewarm Chinese food. The flavor and spice level were on point, delicious! My only complaint was there was a ton of bell peppers and no green onions or crispy noodles. Not a traditional Mongolian Beef but still excellent. I also was disappointed to see that there was no Hot and Sour soup on the menu. Would definitely go back. read more

The food at Golden Dragon Cafe is wonderful. My husband and I had their potstickers. The owner, Kathy, has a special sauce for these delicate creatures that tastes incredible. As entrees, we also had the Mongolian Beef and the Sweet and Sour Chicken. Both dishes were delicious! We especially liked how tender the beef was. The interior atmosphere of the restaurant is so warm and inviting. We've done takeout twice, but will try being seated the next time we visit. Yummy, yummy, yummy!!! read more

I am eating their Szechuan Pork as I type this. Great flavor and eye appeal for take-out. I would like to go dine-in someday to try their other menu items. The only complaint I have is that there wasn't enough tiny (& I mean tiny!) pieces of pork in it to be called a pork dish. I could have fit all 7 of the tiny pieces into a tablespoon. The flavor though... is amazing! Just ordered the same today for lunch (with chicken). Totally happy with the meat content this time. asked for it to be hotter and it was made to perfection. Looks like a strip club when you drive past it with the darkened windows--I actually did this one time on an Olympic Peninsula trip (assumed it was like an opium den or whorehouse or something) and kept driving--which I shouldn't have, as I ended up eating McDonalds fries in Raymond that night. Ewwwww. Anyway, the second time, I decided to stop (possibly because there was a guy with me who was 6'6") and was.. Enormously pleasantly surprised. The food here is quite good and I enjoyed it, and the politeness with which we were served, considerably. I might even think about rating this place four stars but the fact that you can literally drive by and think that there's no way come hell or high water that it's a legitimate business makes that simply impossible. The food makes it worth risking the stop, though. As usual, and with the adventureousness of a third-world traveler, I mark off no points for cleanliness unless it's a place where I plan to order something raw, and I don't here. Americans complain too much about cleanliness of restaurants; it's the food that matters! And here they certainly deliver in that regard. read more

I have been to the Yelm Golden Dragon Many times and it is great so I thought this would be the same. IT IS NOT!! It was NASTY, dirty, the prawns were over cooked and weird batter like they were freezer burnt or something, the Sweet and Sour Pork was so hard I could barely bite into it. Usually when we go to a Chinese restaurant there are leftovers, the portions were so small I would have barely gotten full even if I had eaten all of it, which I didn't because it was nasty. I used to love this place 15 years ago or so, but not anymore. They must have gotten a new cook or something because the food is not only worse than before but now it's downright awful (some of it, not all). They can hardly get a to-go order right. (Make sure you ask for silverware or chop sticks and napkins or you'll be eating with your hands unless you take it home!) I say this because: I recently phoned in a take-out order for 5 people. One order of teriyaki chicken, one order of sweet & sour chicken, and 3 orders of their "poo poo platter" (an assortment of stuff). OMG, what a disgrace to Asian restaurants! My friend's wife picked up the order so she didn't know anything about this place or the orders. No chopsticks, no forks, nothing. But we were all shocked to find they combined the 3 platters into 1 container! The 3 people who ordered those had to sit around the same table and share out of one box. Then the sweet and sour chicken was dry and so hard it was hurting my teeth biting into it! It isn't cooked in the sauce, they give you a small cup of sauce and you have to dip each piece. Myself, I had to use a knife and cut each piece and pull the small piece of chicken out then dip it. I was amazed to find the chicken inside isn't even as big as the breaded thing you see. Not sure how that happens but I certainly don't like paying for air. For $8.25 you get like 8 pieces of chicken, a miniature cup of white rice and some sauce. The teriyaki chicken was actually just plain chicken breasts marinated in teriyaki sauce, not sliced up like 99.999% of the Asian places I've eaten. But with the teriyaki chicken you actually get fried rice and 1 egg roll with your 2 breasts, for $8.25. One guy mentioned "their food is always so different when you order to-go than when you eat there". Makes sense I guess, but I see no reason they don't put the chicken in the sweet & sour sauce when you order to-go but do when you eat there. Hmmm. Our bill for 5 people was $45+ after tax. Well, all 5 of us agreed it was the worst $45 we had ever spent. One friend joked "we should have just gone and eaten at the mission!". Like I said, they used to be pretty good. I've always liked their shrimp fried rice and their egg rolls, but I highly doubt I will ever eat here again! It was not my first choice of where to order, but we were all working around the corner so we didn't want to drive to Aberdeen or Cosi for Chinese food. I suppose it's all in your tastes, because I have other friends who love this place! But others hate it. One note: yes, like everyone else seems to agree, the lady who runs it is super nice and always friendly. But this place is always so slow she sits there most of the time in a booth on her laptop. (She wouldn't do this in Tacoma because the minute she walked back into the kitchen, some tweeker would grab it and run!). read more

The lady here is rude and Ive tried many times to like it but its easily the worst place in Grays Harbor to eat chinese and or anything else. Ordered it another time, same thing every time I ordered, Chicken chow mein, orange chicken, sweet and sour pork, pork fried rice. 2nd time was worse, was hoping it was a fluke. 3rd time I ordered it because family came into town and I had been raving about it after the first time so they wanted to try it. It was DISGUSTING!! portions were literally half they size they had been and everything was so dry it was inedible and the chicken chow mein had literally no noodles in it whatsoever. never going back there. If there was a zero star, i would give them zero stars. Food was salty. The beef had a stale, old smell. Couldn't tell whether if it was chicken or pork with one of my dishes. The chicken was undercooked. I went there to have a quiet meal but the waitress was loud and talked too much with the other customers about basically nothing. Poor service. It was my first time and my last time. The food was so salty that i almost lost my tongue. Stick to chinese tv dinners. Its 100% better than this restaurant read more

The food was awful. My family of four did our own specials. The fried rice was discolored and off smelling. It was soggy and had no veggies it was just soggy tab rice. The food took 40 min to come out and looked like it had been under a heat lamp for 4 or more hours. It was super dry and gross. The worst Chinese food I have eaten by far. I went in for the first time a couple of months ago and I will never go back. The food was pathetic, even for American "Chinese". I didn't see the waitress but once besides when she brought our food. The wonton soup was GROSS! Why would you put frozen mixed veggies in that? Sodden, mushy, flavorless wontons in flavorless broth. The meat was all greasy. I'd rather not get food poisoning so I'll be avoiding this place for the rest of eternity. I'd suggest you do the same. read more
