Today I ordered Mongolian Beef with upgraded pan fried noodles and A side of BBQ pork. The food was DELICIOUS! Service excellent and considering there was just one solo employee working I am really surprised. The beef in the dish was high quality and the flavors perfect. This place smelled amazing when I walked In.... I was super excited to get home and just chow down with my family ! We ordered the tofu and vegetable cashew with pan fried noodles spicy*, sweet and sour chicken, Kung pao shrimp spicy * and shrimp balls ( basically we're crab Rangoon but with shrimp only, they just called them cheese puffs) The portions were big which is a plus for our family of 7. The cheese puffs were mostly cream cheese with one or two salad shrimp In them or just kinda hollow. The sweet and sour chicken was pretty good! The Kung pao was not good it tasted like celery even after asking it to be spicy. There was no spice component what so ever. The shrimp were slightly over cooked as well. The tofu vegetable cashew tasted just like the Kung pao.. nothing . The tofu wasn't even seared or anything also after asking for this dish to be spicy as well it was not . The pan fried noodles were not fried in any sense the looked boiled ... pan fried should have some sort of caramelization. Overall if you go here get the sweet and sour it's great. After spending an extended weekend getaway at Olympic National Park, I had just left the Ruby Beach area of the peninsula and driven about 80 miles to here in Aberdeen, WA...this being one of the first major cities/towns I had come upon in sort of getting back to civilization. I was pretty hungry for dinner and was kind of craving some comforting Chinese food especially after hanging outside in the blustery and windy conditions over my final day at Olympic NP. I just wanted a simple, homely and casual place to grab a relaxing dinner. So...I Googled restaurants in Aberdeen that were open for dine-in during the pandemic and I came across this, Chinese Village. For a Sunday evening back over the summertime around 6pm, the restaurant was pretty deserted. I was questioning if they were even open as the parking lot had no cars in it. Oh well, here goes...I went inside to give this place a try. I was warmly welcomed and got seated right away. Obviously almost every table was empty and my initial impression was that they were unoccupied for a reason. But it's okay...how bad can they really mess up Chinese food? I ordered hot tea to start with before looking over the menu. Basically Chinese Village had everything on the menu you could ask for. Like most diners would do, I saw the Combination Dinners and simply chose one of those. For just 1 person (like myself) dining...they had 4 choices of Combination Dinners....Numbers 1 - 4. Prices for these ranged from $8.40 per person to $10.60 per person. If you're a party of 2 or more they featured 6 more Family Style Combination Dinners....Numbers 5 - 10. These prices ranged from $11.50 per person to $16.05 per person. I decided on Combination #3. For $9.40...I started with a cup of soup, then my entree plate was Almond Subgum Chow Mein, Sweet and Sour Ribs, 3 Fried Prawns and Fried Rice. Although this wasn't exactly the types of dishes I would have preferred for my meal...I was willing to "go with it" as it was good value and included hot soup which I longing for as well. Had I ordered everything separately it would have probably cost me $20...double the price of my Combo Dinner. My cup of soup came out immediately. When you see the picture of it...it was like just a hot broth with a chicken base stock. I'm not sure if it was a wonton type soup or egg drop. It had an opaque base to it like a murky/cloudy appearance and feel. It tasted okay but it was literally just a 1 note/tone broth. My Combo Dinner came out right afterwards. By this point actually a few other patrons came inside the restaurant so I was happy about that...that at least some locals frequent this place. I was getting worried there for a second. Well...for my meal...I've never really had Almond Subgum Chow Mein, but it was just a lot of vegetables with plenty of onions and celery mixed together with a few other elements. It tasted okay, but overall I wasn't too satisfied while eating it. This was my least favorite. I also got 3 fried prawns. They were decent. I liked them for the most part. I could tell they were just cooked fresh out of the fryer so they had a crispy bite to them. The fried rice was just a waste. It was more like brown rice. And...I ate a few mouthfuls before leaving that over. The best part of my Combo Dish was the Sweet and Sour Spare Ribs for sure. They were featured on a little side dish off of the main plate. I liked how they had a tangy and brownish sauce to them...it was quite tasty. The meat fell off the bones pretty easily and it was tender. Maybe I got like 5 or 6 pieces of small ribs (as you'll see by my picture). But definitely these sweet and sour ribs were the best highlight of the meal. And that was it. The hot tea was fine, I had no issues with it. I can't even remember if they charged me for the tea. If so it could have been $1. But with tax and tip I walked away paying $15. I could have carried a take-home container with me but after finishing off the sweet and sour ribs and the fried prawns....the chow mein and fried rice were not worth saving. If I actually lived in Aberdeen I guess I could return here in the future and try a few different items or combination dinners. Overall, this #3 that I selected was mediocre. As I departed Chinese Village I was somewhat (a little) satisfied and content with my meal. It could have been better. The chow mein really turned me off but overall I can't complain. In the end and during the Pandemic of 2020, I'm just glad I found a quiet place to have an easy going meal. That's all I really wanted. But right afterwards, since I had extra room in my tummy I couldn't help myself and stopped for a Dairy Queen blizzard for dessert, lol. read more

Ordered the Lemon Chicken and a couple other dishes. The chicken was nicely breaded and cooked well. Love that it was hot. The noodle dishes were bland and cold. This is our favorite Chinese Restaurant on the Harbor. Their fried items aren't heavily breaded, their portions are large, and the staff is very friendly. While they (like any other restaurant) would like to discourage substitutions, they'll gladly handle them for you if you ask nicely. I really enjoy their Shawn's Special Fried Noodles and my wife loves their egg foo young. Their General Tso's Chicken and their Sweet and Sour Pork are also very good. read more

Best chicken wings I've ever had. The chef does the wings in a lollipop fashion so each wing is easily held by hand. It comes with a sweet and sour sauce. The wings aren't too spicy and it's very easy to devour them. They take a long time to cook, though, because they're done fresh so before you order anything else, order the wings so they can prepare them. Cost is $9.50 for about 8 wings -- but they're huge. I don't really ever go out of my way for Chinese food. It seems pretty true that even if you eat a huge Chinese food meal, you will be hungry an hour later. The problem was, we were starving and the meal options on this part of the peninsula seem to be slim to none, so as soon as we saw the blinking sign, we decided to stop in. This place advertises itself as Chinese and American food. That means you can get chow mein or a hamburger. Possibly chow mein with a side of hamburger. Or the opposite way. Probably not though. We had the egg drop soup and pork pot stickers to start off. The soup was pretty colorless. I'm used to bright yellow egg drop, but this wasn't that. It almost looked like water with bits of egg and corn. Tasted better than it looked. The pot stickers were very good also. For our main dish we had the shrimp with bok choy which was in a white sauce. Came with a side of white rice. They didn't have brown rice. I still don't understand how places to this day don't offer brown rice. The shrimp were plentiful and the bok choy was nice and crispy. I don't know. The meal was fine for what it was. The sad part is, if there had been anything better along this part of 101 we would have stopped elsewhere. read more

Had a take out order of their Village Chowmein today. Their food has actually gotten much better over the last year. I will be ordering more frequently now. The dish was prepared perfectly and the meat to vegetables ratio was perfect. I added a little soy sauce. But tasted great even before adding the soy sauce. I give them a 5 star for taste and quality of ingredients Even the sliced carrots were decorations as they looked like small flowers. Great improvements here. read more

The cashew chicken was absolutely terrible. First, there was hardly any chicken, cashews, or water chestnuts in it. It was basically celery and onions. The cashew chicken also had pieces that were grey in color. We ate none of it and wanted to send it back. However, our server never came back until it was time to get the check. Highly recommended! It's my favorite place in Aberdeen to eat! Every time we come, my mom always orders their Egg Foo Young. This time, I ordered their Singapore Noodles and it's the best I've ever had. I'm from LA so that's a huge compliment! It wasn't oily and the spice level was just right. My mom likes hers spicier and they easily accommodated. It's a family owned restaurant and it's been around for over 36 years. The interior design is as traditional and authentic as it gets. I also love their placemats since it engages the customers in reading what their zodiac sign is. Didn't look like anything on the menu for lunch was spicy, and I love spicy! Fried rice was ok, egg rolls were little short ones, never seen them that short. And I don't remember if I got a fortune cookie or not. I no longer have an RV but for RV travelers, no room to park the RV unless there are no customers.
