Came to check out this place with a friend. I got there around 7pm, which happy hour had just ended. I was able to find bar seating. The bar was pretty full by this point on a Monday. It took some time for a bartendar to take our order. There were 2 working and they were both so nice! A DJ started playing music around 745pm. From classic hip hop songs from 1998 to Today. Crowd was probably mainly locals. The drinks were pretty bottom shelf, but also pretty strong. This would be a dope spot for a Friday when you wanted to get turnt. This place is Awful.. A few friends and myself went to this establishment on Saturday night. Our waitress was Destini, I hope I spelled her name right. Destini was AMAZING. So when it was time to order our food I explained to Destini that 1 of the ppl in our group has a Deadly Allergy to mushrooms. The reason why I stated that first to her was, because some of the food items have mushrooms in it. Long story short, we had to rush to get Benadryl because the person that was allergic to mushrooms started to feel sick. All is well now, Thankfully. When it was time to pay the bill, our party did half on card, half in cash. We all counted the money together before giving it to her, and upon reviewing the receipt for the transaction, it seemed as though the waitress happened to "lose" $20 of the cash that was given to her and charged extra on my card. When asked about it, she said we never gave her that amount. The manager eventually gave the money back and stated that they weren't petty enough to argue over $20. Jumbo shrimp in lobster sauce would be better without the protein cooked into shriveled rubber; meaty sauce included some egg. White rice is not very moist. Soup portions are reasonable; egg drop came without chicken, an abundance of fried wonton noodles, and was overly thickened-- rolling it around in the bowl created a centimeter-tall lip. Roast pork wonton was the least offensive dish, with red-roasted pork sticks, scallions, and a simple broth with overcooked wrappers. Plenty of parking in the attached lot, bathroom stalls were clean. Service was initially confused about who should take our orders, but otherwise fine. They faked me out with the legit tea cups placed on the tables, but when I asked for hot tea I got a tea bag in a coffee mug. I was the 1st customer for the day and was extremely disappointed when I found out that several of the items that I loved was no longer on the menu, such as the Hawaiian Chicken. The disappointments only got worse. I ordered the orange chicken, which was dry and flavorless. The shrimp and crab fried rice was also flavorless, until I added duck sauce. The beef broccoli, onions and mushrooms looked like slop and the gravy had a weird consistency to it and I believe that based on how mushy the broccoli was I suspect that this a leftovers. The girl sitting behind the window (1 of them) is on her phone and never even greeted as I'm standing there. I don't even know where to start... So last Sunday was the season opener for football. My wife and I decided to go watch the game and eat here. We had an absolute ball!!! Every touchdown they were passing out shots and snacks... there was a DJ... the bartenders and servers were really attentative... great time! We were told that this is what they will be doing every Sunday the Ravens play. We paid our bill and tipped well, went home and told our friends all about it. We decided to go back the next Sunday and we planned for 4 of our friends to meet us there. We got there and there was none of what we experienced the previous week. No celebrations, no DJ, and very underwhelming service. When we asked about the difference from the previous week, the answer we were given was "oh, we don't do all that when the GM aint here..." Our bartender started off great but, the entire time she, along with the other bar staff, were doing shots with every customer that offered to buy them a drink. So the more she drank, the worse the service became. At one point during the 3rd quarter, her and the other staff, along with the customers seated next to us, did another round of shots. The male customer that did the shots with the bartenders was clearly past his limit. I got up and went to the restroom. As I'm walking back, that same male customer tries to get up out of his seat and then falls across landing on my wife and knocking half of our food on to the bar. There was no bartender around to even notice. When the bartender finally came back and we informed her of what happened, she simply shrugged it off with a chuckle and said "oh I wasn't even here to see it..." So i just asked her for the check. After reviewing the check I noticed that there were things on the check that we didn't order and there was a 15% service charge. I asked her was the service charge an automatic gratuity to which she simply replied with "No, that's how they pay our paychecks." After hearing her slurred speech I decided to not debate the check or the items listed and simply pay and leave. As a lead bartender myself, inside one of the highest volume establishments in the city, I could not believe the multiple liqour board violations I saw happening in plain sight. I will never come back here and when the dozens of tourists that weekly come to my bar ask for recommendations, this will be a place highly discourage people from visiting. read more

This bar is clearly a local spot and the best thing about it is the personality of the bartenders. The food leaves much to be desired. I ordered the stuffed shrimp with broccoli and red potatoes. No pics (so sorry) The plate consisted of exactly two shrimp with a crab mixture that contained a lot of filling, seasoned looking baked potato wedges and perfectly steamed broccoli. The broccoli was the best thing on the plate. The shrimp was not butterflied at all. Two shrimp. Simply laid on the plate with the crab places on top. The sauce does not bode well under the heating lamps or broiler. They potatoes had all of the appearances of seasonings and none of the flavor. Everything lacked flavor. I came in from out of town and this was one of the few places around me still serving food and drinks that I was interested. Where I'm from- we don't have many Chinese restaurants that have a bar along with them so I was quite impressed; I can eat Chinese food and turn up all in one place! I had one drink called the YOLO and boy it only took one for me before I had to call a friend to pick me up- so strong. To eat, I had the shrimp egg rolls and sesame chicken with shrimp fried rice. Those were the biggest egg rolls I had ever seen - If i had known, i would've just ordered those to eat. The chicken and rice were also larger portions so two people can easily share one entree. The rice was cold and could've had a bit more seasoning but the sesame chicken made up for it. I don't think most places I've been to use white meat for their chicken and I was quite impressed with Golden Dragon's sesame chicken. I have been at least ten times and I always enjoy their happy hour It is really reasonable but on a regular night for a meal and a drink will cost you more than 30 bucks. The Gratuity of 18% is already added to your bill. My bartenders are always cool but I have seen some rude ones in the past. The music in the Golden Dragon is always on point. The only thing I suggest that if you are on a hot date and you're trying to get to know someone.. This is not the place to come. The music be so loud that you can't hear what the person next to you is saying. I guess this works for the introverts that don't feel like talking anyway. Visited the Golden Dragon on a Friday evening and enjoyed the vibe. For West Baltimore, it's a nice hangout. My friend and I ordered Old Bay wings and they were delicious and arrived hot. However, I can only give two stars (and should probably only give one) because the bartenders here are TERRIBLE. I've seen other reviews about the bartenders ignoring women and can definitely attest to this fact. After we ordered our wings, we never had the chance to get anything else. Our bartender (named Cali according to the receipt) was on her phone for the duration of our stay. She has headphones in both ears, disappeared for long periods of time and even when she was back pretending to do some work refused to make eye contact. Tacky, unprofessional and unnecessary. This is clearly a trend so I won't be coming back because I can't and shouldn't have to tolerate bad customer service. Do better, Golden Dragon. read more
