8/11/25 I ordered some take out from here as it was my first time trying this restaurant. But, unfortunately it was a big disappointment. I ordered the garlic habanero and spicy BBQ wings. They came with carrots and celery. Also, got some jalapeño poppers. The wings were extremely dry and lacked flavor, not what you'd expect from a wing spot. Honestly, the only thing worth eating were the jalapeño poppers. The service was absolutely wonderful, the staff were very friendly and helpful, but the food just was not it for me. Service was excellent and I love the decorations that are everywhere (wallpaper with wings is hilarious). Wings are just your standard wings, I was actually a little disappointed that the sauces seemed to be the star. Mountain Berry was my favorite sauce, a little sweet, mild heat. Now the chicken tenders are delicious, juicy and still yummy. Fries were pretty standard, they apparently have mac and cheese bites and deep fried guacamole, so I'll have to try those next time. We tried the churro with caramel and it definitely wasn't like a Disney churro. Also, $3.99 was pricey for the one order. The deep fried twinkle is supposed to be pretty good of anyone wants to try that. read more

We called ahead to ask questions about gluten free/celiac safe options and staff was knowledge and friendly. We ordered the boneless and bone-in wings. We had a question about the garlic fries and staff was quick to bring out the seasoning and let my wife look to make sure it was safe for her to have. If you have a food allergy you know how rare this type of customer service is and it means a lot! The food came out very hot and fresh. The wing sauces (flaming, garlic, and BBQ) were delicious! I was in the mood for wings and was recommended Golden Fame Hot Wings. The outside of the building looked very inviting and I inside ambiance was wonderful crafted with its well lite, wing theme game day vibes. They also have tv's and a bar for game day. Mrs. Betsy took our order and was so friendly!! I went there 2 days in a row and purchased "6 Piece Lemon Pepper Wings and Garlic Fries & Kids Meal- 4 Lemon Pepper Wings and Cheese Fries". My friend bought the Spicy Lemon Pepper and loved it. We were also informed on Thursdays is "Sing-go"which is Singing Bingo and they have a blast, definitely have to give it a try. I love Golden Flame. I love the wings. I love the sauces. I love the atmosphere. The employees are fantastic. They will let you choose a different sauce on every five wings that you order. So, I like to take the family in and order up twenty with four different sauces. I've been here probably five or six times, and I've tried almost all of their sauces. I haven't had one that I didn't like. I just enjoy sampling the different kinds as I dine. The sauces alone make this place a better alternative to B Dubs. But there's also the fries. They are incredible! Highly recommend them. Just the run of the mill fries are fresh and tasty. Some of the best in the business. And here's something you weren't expecting. The side salad is huge and made fresh. One of the tastiest side salads you'll get anywhere. So you can leave knowing you ate healthy!!! ;) The employees here are quite good. Delivery seemed to be through a third party service but was on time and had no issues. The flavors were good but the wings just didn't hold up to being delivered. While running errands in Lexington, the Fat Man and his wife decided that wings sounded terrific. So, after previously seeing a few commercials, we headed over to check out Golden Flame Hot Wings near the Fayette Mall. Golden Flame is a no-frills eatery serving chicken wings with a selection of sauces and renowned garlic fries. They are based in Colorado, but this is the only Kentucky location. I decided to order the BBQ bone-in wings. The wings were fried perfectly with a crispy outer shell. The first couple of wings were a little dry on the outside, but the inner bites were juicy; it was still a tasty wing. The sauce was sweet with a hint of smokiness; I was unsure if it was made in-house. The wings were also appropriately coated in the sauce, adding to each bite. I only noticed too late that they have a signature sauce, the Golden Flame, several other sauces, from sweet to heat, and several dry rubs. Ranch, Bleu Cheese, celery, and carrots are also available to order. My wife ordered the Cool Flicker(Mild Hot Sauce) boneless wings. The wings were fried well, and the bite was crispy and juicy. The sauce has a good flavor with mild heat, as advertised. These wings were also coated pretty well in the sauce, but the breading does soak up some of the sauce. They were not mushy, but you may want extra sauce depending on how you like your boneless. We split an order of Cheese Fries, which comes with Jalapeno cheese. The fries are hand-cut, and they give you a considerable amount. I think the fries could have stayed In the fryer for another minute or two to get a little crispier. The amount of cheese sauce they put on the fries is excellent. This sauce was creamy with just a little heat; there was a slight sweetness: the sweet hits upfront and the heat on the backend. I recommend a fork for these fries. Golden Flame has several items, including sandwiches, salads, wraps, tenders, french fry options, seafood, sides/appetizers, beer, some alcohol, and Pepsi products. The service was counter-style, and everyone we spoke to was amiable and helpful. The Fat Man says Golden Flame Hot Wings is Fat Man Approved with 1 chin. read more

Would be negative starts. People were nice to a point. Showed up at 11am for a early lunch. Place looked nice and was decorated nice. Except for the LCA helmet. Order 10 wings, 5 golden flame. 5 mile Hi (Cajun ) Order of fries. The order gets brought out. Guy says they messed it up the fries. I could not see how they "messed them up"so he took them back. I have no idea what was wrong with them. I chewed on the Cajun ones, hard as a rock. Not good but I plowed though like a fat guy should. There is only 2 ways to mess up wings. Over cook or make chicken Tartar. They did it. Then on to the golden flame. Nice flavor. Then the new fries come out. They are cooked about 75%. Lady who runs it came over I said the fries needed to be cooked more. Her quote "next time you come on they will be cooked better" Strike one.....what about now? I'm here NOW! SPOILER ALERT, THERE Is not going to be a NEXT TIME. I'm driving home made about halfway home. I got a the stoplight by the leestown IGA, threw up 3 times in the parking Strike two. Made it home. I read about this restaurant and decidedly you give it a try. It's across from the Fayette Cinema, so unless you frequent movies you may not know it's here. I ordered the 6 pc bone-in wing meal. Comes with a good size helping of fresh cut fries, drink, and vegetables with sauces. I tried the mountain berry wing sauce. Everything was really good. Not getting the couple low reviews. We came in and the folks treated us great, letting us try the flavors ahead of time. Food was prompt and had great flavor. We got three flavors of wings and they were all really nice and then finished off with trying the hottest flavors. Fries are a softer style, so if you want McDonalds, go to the arches. We loved the Kickin' Chicken sandwich with crispy chicken and really recommend getting the ghost pepper cheese on it, it was pretty spicy but there's a pickle flavor in the breading which compliments it very well. There are many amazing sauces to choose from and you can sample as many as you like. The staff was very kind and helpful in deciding what to order and the food was super fresh. Me and two of my friends wanted som food after we got off work and I suggested Golden flame. We got 40 wings and 2 large fries with Mile High dry Rub, Shanghai Sizzle, Lemon pepper, Mountain berry, Cool flickers and BBQ Blaze. Let me tell you those were some of the best if not the best wings I have had in Lexington. The wings were crispy on the outside and so juicy in the middle you wouldn't even believe it. The service was Phenomenal and the owners are the nicest people you will ever meet so glad that we have a wing spot in Lexington like this. The atmosphere this place if you like sports that is the place to go for sports. The decor is sports related and chicken wing related also. Came out for a birthday dinner and trivia with some family. To start, there's not really any service, so you go to the counter and order and refill your own drinks. The staff was polite though so I can't complain. The fries are like a steakhouse style, you know, like hand cut with a bit of the skin, so it has that strong potato flavor. It's not really my style, so make your own judgment on that, but even still, I thought they were overly soggy. I am a wing guy, and I know good wings. These were restaurant quality wings that felt like they were delivered by door dash. You know what I mean? Like they might have been good had they not been somewhat overcooked and sat in a Styrofoam box for 15 minutes. These were in the restaurant, though, and weren't that busy when we got there. Well overpriced for what it was, especially when you have a Rooster's within 100 yards. The place itself is nice, though, and had I enjoyed the food, I would probably watch a game there, but I did not, so I'll probably stick to some of the other wing spots in the area but by all means check it out and see for yourself. read more
