The lunch rush was gone and the restaurant appeared to have all of the tables cleaned off and chairs put back neatly, ready for their dinner rush. I ordered the Friday lunch special of Baby White Fish with French Fries and Cole Slaw. It also came with hush puppies. Ordered malt vinegar on the side. I was pleasantly surprised. The sweet tea was good. The portions are huge and the fish was perfectly cooked, thick and meaty yet flaky. Their batter is perfectly seasoned and gives a great crunch. Their cole slaw was good, tasted fresh. The hush puppies were good. I've had better and I've had a lot of bad ones but these were good. The French fries...well they were not in the fryer long enough. Service was good. Staff was attentive and got my food to the table hot. If the fries had been cooked until crispy, I would have given them 4 stars. Not for the restaurant itself, but for the food. Why is this place still open? It has good food AND large portions and the food comes out hot. People are not coming here for the ambiance. I will be back probably just for take out and would recommend for anyone looking for good fried seafood.

Our littles shared a kids popcorn shrimp and also had a side of loaded baked potato. The service was good, until they gave our waitress a table of 20 in addition to the ones she was already waiting on. It wasn't her fault she couldn't keep up with the addition of that huge party.
