I stopped in for a late lunch and noticed how clean this restaurant is. It is decorated with Thai decor which I found interesting to look at as I waited in my food and adds to the experience overall IMO. The gentleman at the front provided friendly, professional and attentive service throughout the meal. I ordered a Sweet Tea and Sesame Chicken from the lunch menu which is served with a Fried Spring Roll. The tea was some of the best tea I've ever had. The spring roll was cooked perfectly and filled with rice noodles, cabbage and carrots. The dipping sauce was typical sweet and sour sauce. The sesame chicken was cooked in a light batter and cooked perfectly. The sauce was a tangy and sweet mix. I enjoyed the flavor very much. I was disappointed the dish was not served with steamed broccoli which is how it is typically presented. However, if I had read the menu in more detail and taken a peek at their Yelp reviews I would have noticed they do not serve their sesame chicken with broccoli so that is my fault for not paying attention to detail but still disappointing to not have any vegetables in this particular dish. The fried rice was visually appealing in that it was cooked with egg but lacked flavor and it wasn't cooked with any vegetables either. Again, had I taken a peek at the reviews, I would've noticed that detail. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I will be back to try their Thai menu items. And based on my choices, (I chose a dish that was not Thai) will know to ask for a modification to the menu item to meet expectations. I would recommend this restaurant. read more

Tasty food and quick takeout. Saw this on Yelp and was in the mood for a light dinner. Gave this a try and happy I did. I ordered steamed dumplings and Pad Woon Sen (Crystal Noodles) with Ground Chicken. The steamed dumplings (5) had a mixture of chicken, pork and shrimp, and were garnished with cilantro. They came with a mild soy dipping sauce. The crystal noodles came with a mixture of vegetables, egg, and ground chicken. Both were tasty and I still had leftovers from the noodles. I was in town for the Zoo and needed some Asian food in the area. I stumbled upon this Thai spot with great reviews and had to try it out! This spot is located in the shopping center of Food Lion on the side. There were plenty of parking places in the area. Upon entering here, the dining area was very intimate and had a nice feel to it. The owner greeted us and was super nice to seat us right away. We ordered the Pad Thai Seafood Combination, Green Curry Beef, and Sesame Chicken Kid's Meal. The Green Curry Beef was amazing with the right flavor. The fried rice tasted awesome. The Pad Thai was great as well. The kids' meal sesame chicken had a huge portion where an adult could be full. Service was awesome where the owner kept asking if we were okay. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for Chinese/Thai food in the Asheboro area. First of all, the menu offers a huge range of options, including items such as sesame chicken and cheese wonton for people in your group that prefer Asian American food than authentic Asian food - I'm not judging, but rather considering it a plus that everyone has an option. All the dishes I ordered were delicious: - beef salad (appetizing, and I loved the cucumbers marinated in the sauce) - Tom yum - drunken noodle (I like that there are multiple veggies in it and I even added additional broccoli. My husband and I love eating here! We've enjoyed getting takeout during the COVID situation. My favorite is the pad see ew noodles with the seafood combination. I'm also not a huge egg roll person--but Simply Asians are so good! I love the peanut sauce that comes with the chicken satay. I've tried several menu items but the pad-see-ew is my favorite. It's got these chunky noodles that just soak up this delicious sauce, along with the veggies and meat of your choice. I usually go with seafood because I think it pairs really well. My husband is more adventurous and likes trying a new item every time. He's never been disappointed so it works! I had the panang curry with tofu from the lunch menu today, my first time trying it, and I give it five stars! We had never eaten lunch here, so I didn't know what to expect. I prefer a smaller meal. Probably the worst experience I have had in a long long time. I entered hungry and left feeling hungry and extremely mistreated. Long story short, dont come here unless you want overcooked meat and incredibly rude service... It started out strong with the two apps (fried and cold spring rolls), those were 10 out of 10 fresh and yummy. The service started out crappy and only got extremely worse....unfortunately so did the food. The chicken in the stir fry noodles was dry and overdone. The pork in the green curry was overcooked to the point where one couldnt chew it. When notifying the waiter of this issue he legit responded with "oh thats just how its made" and walked away....Multiple back and forth conversations were needed between myself, the waitress (I avoided the rude waiter at all costs), and and store owner. Finally, I told the waitress that I dont want to shoot the messenger, as she is was the only one there that was courteous and outgoing. As such I told the waitress that I need to speak with the store owner directly. At this point, the store owner is telling me that she has sold "lots of pork today with no complaints". She continued that "everything costs money...it's hard to keep small businesses running". While I empathize that being a restaurant owner can be financially straining, maybe they could ensure that food is cooked properly. They could also work on how they handle customer complaints- especially since they are unwilling to compensate you for badly cooked food (without paying extra or going into a full on debate in front of other tables). I do feel completely disregarded and mistreated. I ended up (1) debating to recieve a replacement side to fill me up, (2) taking all the food to go since I was extremely uncomfortable, & (3) paying for the full tab, including the inedible meal. I will never ever return to this restaurant due to the horrible service and overcooked food. I honestly feel sorry for the sweet waitress that works there, she probably gets treated like trash considering this restaurant doesnt value quality food and quality service. read more

The food wasn't as flavorful as I am used to and appeared to be lacking parts of the quintessential Thai flavor profile. This is our new favorite Thai restaurant in Asheboro. The food selection is excellent and includes lunch specials. The ingredients are fresh, delicious and nicely presented. Staff is friendly and ready to help with menu decisions. It isn't a large place but there is comfortable, there is plenty of convenient parking and much of their business involves takeout. They have several wonderful Curries that are simply delicious. We especially enjoy those along with their basil and garlic dishes. read more

I had departed work with no particular food in mind. Opened the trusty Yelp app and saw Simply Asian right down the street. After eating at a Thai place in Ouray, Colorado I've been unsure if I wanted to try a different place as the bar had been set so high. This place did not disappoint! I ordered the fried rice and beef. The waitress brought out a spice tray and went over the different options. The Fish Sauce is unbelievably good, and was a great addition to the fried rice. I came to this restaurant by accident. It's located in the Food Lion shopping center off Dixie drive. This is a small restaurant, but very nicely decorated and clean. The service was great. All the servers were very nice. This place is serving very authentic Thai food. I order the Thai basil chicken. This was served with vegetables and a very tasty sauce. The place was about half full and the wait staff was very attentive and friendly. I tried their coconut chicken soup. It's on par with your average Thai restaurant, but the onions could have been cut a little smaller for my liking. I ordered Basil Chicken, Thai hot, and substituted sliced cucumbers in place of rice (on South Beach Diet). The dish was very good and they accommodated my request for Thai hot. Yum....have tried lots of Thai restaurants and can say, this one is a keeper! Went for lunch on a Saturday, door hours said they closed at 2:30, but not true they are open straight through. Egg drop soup was served first and it was very tasty. I ordered sweet and sour tofu, this style and the hubs ordered a noodle dish.
