Good food, but not outstanding. I ordered General Tsao Shrimp - very tasty but the shrimp had a rather thick batter. The sauce was excellent The Egg Fu Yung and gravy were very good. I recommend this dish. House Fried Rice was good. It was a little bland, but it had lots of veggies and meats. I added a little soy sauce and the rice was much better. The House Lo-Mein was also excellent. Egg flower soup was also bland and consisted of yellow broth and egg-nothing else. Sweet & Sour Pork was not very good. Small pieces of pork were heavily battered and served in a very thick layer of bland batter. The sauce was thin and disappointing. Shrimp Rolls were beautiful but the interiors were mushy. I never knew this place existed- have been wanting to find a truly good Chinese place within a reasonable drive of Lexington. Well this place is great and the drive isn't too bad. Not sure about the neg reviews. Faan has always delivered (not literally) for us, including tonight. My wife ordered for the family and brought home Orange Chicken and egg rolls for us. She said the lady in the store was on point and knew they had called in a "big order." This is a gem of a place in Tyro, "suburb" of Lexington. I love Faan!! read more

We also got broccoli and mushrooms in the brown sauce. They used fresh vegetables. We asked them to lightly fry the tofu since this was our first time eating here and other places over cook it but they did good. It was nice and soft. I'd try it again. A simple fast food Chinese restaurant but don't be fooled. The place is clean, dining in is open, the lady is super nice and welcoming. Food: we order Hunan Beef extra spicy for my husband, the beef lo mein for me, and egg drop soup. Wow Hunan beef spicy and sauce was amazing! The lo mein sauce was delightful yummy however do not order the egg drop soup... it lacked seasoning flavor and salt Overall the food order was bought out quick & hot. Well I think if this was more than a carry out & was a true Scratch Kitchen then It would be a real Chinese restaurant Bad rice , No Flavor ( lack seasonings) , flatware not strong Enough No knife ! First visit here at Faan ordered Singapore Mi Fun all I can say is Wow! This is some of the best in the area... to include Winston and Greensboro!!!! It is a small hole in the wall place neatly kept and they family running it is very nice. The Mi Fun is wonderfully flavorful and the meats/shrimp are all tender and moist and easy to chew! The picture shows the size of the portion minus the 3rd I had eaten already- very generous portion for the price! Great place we will cone back! read more

The girl taking orders over the phone was polite and courteous. When I picked up my order, everything was correct. The food was hot and fresh. The orange chicken was seasoned nicely and was crispy despite being sauced. The fried rice was fresh, and the vegetables in it were crisp. The crab Rangoon were big and fully stuffed. Was pleasantly surprised to find yummy Chinese food in the middle of Lexington! We ordered the orange chicken ( non spicy for my kiddies), Kung pao chicken, shrimp fried rice, chow mei fun and chicken chow mein. Customer service was good and the prices were reasonable. The portions are great as we had plenty left overs. My only complaint is that when we arrived home, we found that we were given some chicken/celery plate in lieu of the chicken chow mein. Which was a bummer because that was for my kids. Sleigh we had this mishap, it won't deter us from frequenting this place again. This Chinese restaurant in Tyro (yes, you read that correctly) is very good and currently the best Chinese food around Lexington. Their prices are very reasonable and offer both small and large portions of most meals. They have a very small dining room and is very accomodating for take out. They are generous with their vegetables which are fresh and appetizing. They have 24 combination plates and a good selection of vegetarian and seafood dishes, including steamed entrees. Their menu claims that all the food is cooked in vegetable oil and no MSG is used. They even have 28 lunch specials priced at $5. My only criticisms are ones personal to me: the spicy dishes were not spicy enough for my taste and the crackers for the soups were the small, narrow kind without much flavor.
