Another factor was, even though I was the only one in there when I walked in, many groups of people started coming in either to pick up takeout or to have lunch inside. They did not disappoint I ordered the shrimp Penang curry, which is not on the menu for lunch, but it was what I wanted based on a photo from someone else. The flavors were amazing and it had some kick, just an FYI, if you don't like any more than mildly spicy they also offer brown rice, which I forgot to order, but nonetheless, my dish was delicious.

I was disappointed the dish was not served with steamed broccoli which is how it is typically presented. However, if I had read the menu in more detail and taken a peek at their Yelp reviews I would have noticed they do not serve their sesame chicken with broccoli so that is my fault for not paying attention to detail but still disappointing to not have any vegetables in this particular dish. The fried rice was visually appealing in that it was cooked with egg but lacked flavor and it wasn't cooked with any vegetables either. Again, had I taken a peek at the reviews, I would've noticed that detail. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I will be back to try their Thai menu items. And based on my choices, (I chose a dish that was not Thai) will know to ask for a modification to the menu item to meet expectations. I would recommend this restaurant.

They came with a mild soy dipping sauce. The crystal noodles came with a mixture of vegetables, egg, and ground chicken. Both were tasty and I still had leftovers from the noodles. I will say they seem to have some identity confusion, calling themselves "Maki of Japan", then also "Asian Eatery", but most of the food seems to be more aligned with Chinese cuisine, with a sprinkling of Cajun and Thai influence. Perhaps "Maki Asian Eatery" would have been a more apt name. Food is mostly served cafeteria style, with all of the food looking very fresh and appetizing. Despite a long line it moved super fast, to the point that you had little time to debate your choices. There are a few teriyaki options available made to order. Servings are generous, though a bit light on the meat and heavy on the carbohydrate. Pricing seemed reasonable for what you got. Staff were very friendly! There are some growing pains expected in the first week and I'm sure the kinks will be worked out soon. For example, there were no napkins in sight, and they were out of the sauce for the crab Rangoon. There seems to be room for improved communication between server and cashier as far as what's packed to speed up checkout. I'm not sure if there's an online ordering ahead option, but honestly as fast as the service was you could be in and out in a couple minutes so there may not be any benefit to online ordering. I'm excited to have this new options in town and I imagine they'll be very successful!
