My little wanted sushi, and we definitely can't get that in our town, so Yelp and friends pointed us to Sakura Express. It was delicious! This restaurant is a mixture of tables and booths. They are a self service restaurant where you order and pay first and then seat yourself. The decor is what you think of in a take out restaurant, and it was a little on the dim side with lighting. We all were able to get what we wanted to eat. The oldest little wanted sushi, so they got a crab roll. The youngest little wanted noodles, so we split the chicken yakisoba. The littles tried to use chopsticks, but ultimately resorted to forks. This was a great first experience and we will definitely return again when in the area (or wanting sushi without going to Greensboro). read more

Sakura Express is the best place for sushi in Randleman. I've had a variety of their rolls, but have also tried a few different Japanese and Chinese dishes. Overall, I would say it's a solid 4 for food but a 3 for ambiance. Not a lot to look at but the service is speedy and the prices are reasonable. I took my kids and my boyfriend's kids and they all enjoyed it too! Thankful there is a variety of food available so close to home and it's someplace I can take kids and not have to worry about the noise we all make. read more

My husband and I discovered this place during COVID. They haven't opened up the inside yet but we haven't minded! We have a toddler so inside restaurant dining is not ideal anyway. I ordered edamame, comparing to other edemame I had before, this one are so plain and no flavor at all except the Edemame taste. The seaweed salad are good, I like that they mixed it with other veggies. Updating this review, still ordering from here monthly. They are still closed to dinning in due to changes made during covid- making this the BEST take out place in the area. They still take every request, make the most delicious sushi and meals, and it's such a quick and easy process. They get our constant support because we love their food, their time, and their excellent customer service. Fresh, delicious, walk up window to order/pick up from. I don't even want to write such a nasty review. I can say nothing about the inside of the restaurant do to covid-19 we had to order at the makeshift window. We got $50 worth of sushi and threw half of it in the garbage. All I can compare it to is the sushi in the plastic containers, in the deli section at Walmart. Such a waste in every way. read more

I don't often hand out one star reviews. However, I don't find myself getting sick after dining in an establishment very often (dare I say never in my lifetime?). We had plans to go to the Spring Food Truck Festival in Greensboro that fell through, so we figured we'd treat ourselves to some local take-out instead. We ordered a sampling of rolls (a philly, spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail and a crunchy spicy salmon), a hibachi plate, and a couple of yellowtail jalapeño apps. My husband and daughter had no complaints about their philly roll and hibachi plates, but things began going south with the appetizer. The yellowtail tasted slightly "off." I attributed it to the sauce (wishful thinking?), and proceeded to my rolls. BAD CHOICE. All three of my rolls (tuna, yellowtail AND salmon appeared to be exactly the same. Same color (orangy-red), and consistency (slimy!!!). They literally oozed out of the top of the roll. I'd only been once before (dine-in), and hoped that maybe they had a new/ different chef that had prepared the mix differently. Three bites later (yes, not the brightest crayon in the box on this particular evening), I knew a new chef was not to blame. This was just a bad/ old/ gross product. Not sure which, but what I can tell you is that I was immediately sick. We will NOT be returning. read more

Always a tasty dining experience here. Usually I would shy away from inexpensive sushi but the quality here is excellent! I love the spicy crab roll and the shrimp fried rice as well. They're friendly and food comes out quickly. Nice relaxing Christian music is usually playing. read more

Lunch today was an unexpected treat. Portions were ample, served hot and we'll seasoned. The waitstaff were attentive but not intrusive. I believe the music is a mix of uptempo, faith based tunes. Genuinely surprised at how good this place is! My daughter always gets the sweet and sour chicken and it is always good! My husband gets hibachi and thinks it is definitely good as well. I usually order the salad first and the dressing is good, although a little watery. I always order a few rolls and really enjoy most of what I get. The salmon crunchy roll is good, as well as the NC roll! My only suggestion would be to add alittle more sauces on some of the roll, as they can come off alittle dry sometimes. I am an avid sushi lover and although it's not my favorite place, I will continue to go and get my sushi fix from here!!! read more

Food is over priced. After 3pm prices are increased. I call to order a small Hibachi Shrimp and was told orders are only for large orders. I had to wait for my food. When I arrived home I was not happy with my order. I had paid over $12 for a plate of mostly rice some shrimp and vegetables. The food did not look like Hibachi Shrimp cooked on a grill. Some of the best Japanese I've ever had. I'm not sure what sauce they're using on their hibachi chicken but it's INCREDIBLE! I've eaten at many a Japanese restaurant, but this one is one of the best. We normally go to Greensboro for Sushi but ended up at the Walmart in Randleman one day. I saw Sakura Express as we were pulling out and decided to park again and have dinner. Turned out to be the best dinner selection we have made in a long time. The sushi is unbelievable and Miso soup is amazing. I see a lot of reviews about the woman owner being rude and mean but to be honest the more we go and get to know them the more I know she is not rude at all and people are just being ridiculous to leave reviews about her. Maybe say hi to her and spark a conversation with her and maybe you will find out she is really pleasant and nice to talk to. I make trips down to Randleman more often then I probably should just to get Sushi and Hibachi, will probably never go back to Greensboro now that I found this little gem in Randleman. There is not a single bad item on their menu. I highly recommend, enjoy! read more

I had originally left a decent review about a month ago. That has changed on our most recent visit. Update 12/27: Downgraded from 4 to 2 stars! Sushi is just barely ok this time around. Side dishes are served in styrofoam to go dishes! Really! Edamame was not cooked so we sent it back and it came back uncooked again. Our waitress was extremely clueless about the menu. Owner / manager dropped a fork (plastic ware) on floor then put it back in clean plastic ware bin. We will just go back to our 30 minute drive to Albermarle. read more
