Supposed to be Fried Chicken Lunch with oxtail gravy
Terria S.

Let's just say I wouldn't feed my dog this plate. I was in a hurry and went in for beef Pattie's and decided to get a fried chicken lunch plate. Well this is what I was given, maybe day old chicken which was soggy and sitting there and rice and peas with oxtail gravy. It's Disgusting ! I won't be eating it, I don't have time to go take it back and I won't be giving it to anyone else. the two Pattie's I got were just as bad! Smh $19 down the drain!

Great spot to get ypur Jamaican food fix. The satff are friendly and polite. My wife and I after our weekend rides come here for breakfast and we sometimes have dinner here. They have a full line up of Caribbean dishes on the menu. They are opened Monday to Saturday 8am to 8pm. A definite stop for some Carbbean food. You wont be disappointed.

Went into Golden Krust for lunch. They were not very busy and luckily I was able to find parking which is extremely challenging at this location. Sometimes you may have to park in the back of the building and walk as it is in a small plaza with limited spaces. I ordered the king fish with cabbage and rice and peas. Service was quick. Never with a smile, but not rude as several employees act as if it is beneath them to take your order. Food was hot and flavorful. Fish was a little tougher than usual but still really good I frequent this location and food quality is always consistent. Make sure to look at the daily specials which can save you dollars on pricey favorites. Overall decent priced food with very big portion sizes and service that is underwhelming. The restaurant has very limited seating so if you go on a busy day expect to wait or carryout.

Undercooked fish.

The kingfish I ordered wasn't done in the middle. It's a health hazard. Undercooked fish. I asked for a refund. The woman (I think a manager) stated she needed the receipt. I threw it out when I left the restaurant, cuz, you know, I'm not returning food. Or so I thought. But the transaction occurred minutes before with the cashier who was STILL there. This was AFTER waiting 25 minutes for them to prepare this undercooked fish. I told her I would initiate a chargeback. She said she would dispute it (for reasons unknown to me). They use a computer system. I'm sure they could look up a transaction that just occurred and refund it. Remember I called them to place an order and this was the only one made. I tolerate Golden Krust because they are the only Caribbean in the area. They are far from the bI will just venture to Pine Hills to go to Negril Grill instead. This Golden Krust has poor customer service. And now I have a stomach ache. And threw up.

Really didn't want to leave a bad review because I know times are rough but that has nothing to do with the quality of the food. If it would've been a long wait I would've been understanding but we got jerk wings that were extremely hard we couldn't even chew them. Deff disappointed

Oxtail done right!
Joanne L.

Bumped into the place a year ago when I was at the Sprint store waiting for a rep. I'm a big fan of Caribbean food, oxtail especially, and was starving so it seemed like an easy option. So glad I did! The oxtail here is spot on and so tender! It's savory, full of flavor and served with rice and beans, cabbage, and plantains. They also are happy to give extra sauce that you just want to put over everything. I've had this from here 6+ times and it's always been incredibly satisfying. Have also tried the goat, jerk chicken wings, and fish. All were amazing. The prices are reasonable especially for the amount of food you get.

We saw the sign on the door saying masks required BUT we didn't have any on us because the mask mandate was lifted a month ago and no where else "requires" a mask. We also observed a gentleman walk out (may may work there) walk out without a mask. When I walked in, I got the coldest look from the woman sitting behind the counter. I asked her if masks were mandatory because of the sign on the door and she said, "it's what the sign says". Because we weren't dining in, I was just going to order it to go anyway. Because of her sour attitude, I took my business elsewhere. I will not be returning here EVER and I wouldn't recommend anyone who expects decent customer service to come here either. We ended up taking our hard earned money and business to Flavors of Jamaica on Osceola Parkway. The vibe and customer service was way better. I hope the older woman sees this and takes heed that you will lose business if you lack customer service.

My food arrived hot, fresh, and delicious. The portion size was large enough for me to eat for a little over 2 meals. The food was seasoned just right without the over-seasoning I've experienced at other Caribbean style restaurants. I did not visit the physical location so I can't speak to the ambience but I will say that I throughly enjoyed my meal and would recommend Flavors of Jamaica without hesitation.

Craving carribean oxtails and read the reviews on yelp…read more This is located at Kissimmee on Osceola pkwy area in a shopping plaza. Its kind of a challenge getting parking here I guess cause its a weekend and its a busy day to go. Upon entering the music of reggae / carribean music is playing its looked clean. Few tables and bar seating available. There is a section to point and see the array of foods they prepared but this day alot of the foods were covered in lids. I guess its a way to keep foods warm while sitting on the hot steam plate. The oxtail large plate was $25 with 2 sides plus choice of rice. Its a popular dish because when the lady tried to scoop oxtails all she had left in the pan was gravy. She went to the back and got more oxtails. She gave about 8 pcs of mixed sized oxtails. mostly large / medium sizes. She was "Careful" adding gravy and the oxtails as if she was counting how many drips of gravy and how many oxtails she was going to place in the plate - Also she was counting how many sweet plantains she was serving as a side. She gave me about 4-5 pcs of plantains. Seeing this I told her I want the cabbage in a separate container (Since she was careful with giving out the portions) - She then said its going to be $5 for the cabbage since its on a separate container. I was fine with it - even with the cabbage she was careful filling the container to the rim. This is why I decreased a star - Cabbage is cheap and plantains is cheap - Why so careful with these sides? I am paying a $25 plate - It should show that is how much food I am paying for. I am not sure if she was the owner (Light skinned older lady) - If she is then she should not be that cheap with portions especially on a high priced tag plate on her menu. They had array of fresh made juices I am unsure if they make them or they have a vendor - But they offered "Peanut Punch". Arizona cans (Tall) are $1 - I think those are the cheapest drink you can get in there. I saw someone just went in there and bout a few cans of arizona cans only. Jamaican patties are $3 - they offer curry and jerk chicken, mild, spicy. They had sold out of the mild patty - So I opted for the curry chicken patty. I asked about "Peanut porridge" that I read on yelp that was available only on weekends - But the lady asked me if I meant "peanut punch".. I was not sure but she said the Peanut Punch was $5. I asked for the frozen bottle since I had no plans on drinking the drink until a few days later. Let's talk about the food - Oxtails - The meats were fall off the bone and the gravy was thick and savory - however I think the taste - I like Golden crust gravy better as in taste. Golden crust gravy had more umami but this gravy is not bad - It was just kind of thick for my liking. The oxtails were def delicious though. Tender meat and like I said fall off the bone. Rice and Peas - This rice had a subtle coconut milk flavor in the rice itself - little sprinkles of the peas (beans) not much - It was ok rice .. It was dry for my liking - The oxtail gravy helped moistened the rice. Sweet Plantains - These were delicious. Sliced slanted and had the good amount of chew and sweetness. Just like the rice - Plantains are plantains they are either soggy or firm or just the right bite. Cabbage - These were ok - they were slightly bitter and overcooked. Somewhat too soft soggy cabbage. It had hints of sliced carrots - It needed more broth and black pepper taste to them. Curry chicken patty - These were delicious. The patty dough was delicious. The curry chicken was shredded chicken in curry and the hint of spice kicks in towards the bottom of the patty. No wonder they sell alot of the patties - They are delicious. I have not tried the peanut punch as yet - But I will update review once I do taste the drink.

She said they're supposed to open at noon. They didn't have much food prepared and only had 3 options available (oxtail, curry chicken, & brown stew chicken). We ordered oxtail & curry chicken, but was given brown stew chicken instead of curry. I didn't bother letting the employee know since we had already been waiting for a while & needed to leave. The oxtail & chicken were super tender, which was great, but lacked spice and flavor. The rice was superrrrrrr sweet! I'm used to rice cooked in coconut milk-- but this rice seemed boiled in sweetened coconut cream-- it was like dessert honestly. To end on a good note-- they had no veggie Jamaican patties so we bought the beef and cheese one-- despite not having much filling, it was delicious and the crust was perfect!
