It's Easter Friday so I was craving carrot cake. This was place was a bonus to order from since they also offered regular food that I could get dinner with my dessert. Plus, they were on Uber Eats and I didn't feel like going out. Ordered my usual Jamaican dish - brown stew chicken with rice and peas and vegetables. Started out with the carrot cake - 10/10. Cake was moist, cream cheese icing was creamy and not too sweet, a good amount of carrots in the cake, a big portion sliced in half for sharing, and an affordable price. Brown stew chicken - 5/10. Ok flavor, but the chicken was kind of dry. I would have liked extra gravy but was unable to make that special request. Rice and peas - 10/10. Rice was good, nice hint of coconut milk, peas cooked perfectly. Veggies - 2/10. Bland AF. Everything except for the cabbage tastes like it came from a can. Plantain - 2/10. Bland, kinda dry. We stopped in on a weekend morning for breakfast. We ordered the Ackee and Saltfish breakfast meal which came with a choice of boiled or fried dumplings. We also got the Pineapple Ginger Juice. The staff was friendly. I paid with a card so I was charged a 3% convenience fee which for our order totaled an additional $2. The wait for the food and drinks was short and we received all items in a reasonable time. The food was flavorful. The Saltfish is mixed with the Ackee and was minimal in portion size. The best item was the Fried Dumplings. They were fresh and cooked perfectly. The Pineapple Ginger Juice is a favorite. It's refreshing whether it's served bottled or from the fountain. I came in with some friends, got some fish and provisions, some fried dumplings, okra, and we ate. I landed in Orlando after my quick trip to Jamaica and I was still craving Caribbean food. So TikTok led me to Caribbean Sunshine and the internet wins again! My only complaint is that I ordered the food online through their website and once I arrived they had no documentation of my order. At first I was highly annoyed but the guy behind the counter did a quick service recovery. He ensured me my food would be ready in 5min and upgraded my order for the inconvenience. Now to the flavor... the jerk chicken was falling off the bone and full of flavor. They also added a jerk sauce that you real don't need but I'm a sauce lover so of course I added it on top. Once I drove home I got into the oxtails which were flavored VERY well although they had a bit of fat still on them. I'm mad that I came a little late for a beef patty. because by the time I got there they were all gone. I ended up ordering a beef stew chicken plate with cabbage and white rice. The food was very good. The cabbage was still very hard and a very hard crunchy for me. I like my cabbage cooked a little longer. Not really any season on the cabbage but mixing it with the gravy, rice and chicken you can't tell nothing. 4 out of five for me because of the crunchy cabbage and no beef patties available around 5:30pm-6pm so fair warning to anybody that wants a patty with their meal, you better go early during the day because they will probably be gone. This is one of the only places I will buy curry goat! The meat is very flavorful and tender, and the cabbage, sweet plantains, and the fried dumplings just set it all off! This is a patty review!! I love Patties but as a pescatarian I don't always get to enjoy a good patty. Ackee and saltfish is one of my favorite dishes and come to find out they have an ackee and saltfish patty so you know I had to try it! Oh my gawwwd!!!! It was FIRE!! This place was like walking into a true Jamaican supermarket. Everybody was friendly and the food was fantastic. My husband's gentleman's guild was meeting and the theme was Caribbean food and drinks. I was able to feed the hungry hoard of men with their catering. I have been attending monthly meetings in Orlando and this is one of the closet Jamaican restaurants . I have had beef patty which was nice and flaky and seasoned well. During my first visit, I had jerk pork and rice peas. The pork was nicely seasoned and flavourful. During my second visit, the cashier recommended the stew chicken because the pork was not ready and I was on a time crunch. The chicken was nicely seasoned and tasted like authentic stew chicken. This is one of my favorite Caribbean restaurants. I wish we were able to sit at the restaurant itself but it has multiple restaurants inside the building where it's located. Their food and desserts are absolutely delicious. They have beef patties, oxtails, Brown Stew Chicken, Curry Chicken and so much more. It doesn't take long to retrieve your food. The ladies and gentlemen make sure you see your food before you leave to make sure it's correct. There's not too much of decor due to so many other places in the building but it's my favorite stop by spot. read more

Oh Caribbean Sunshine.... I'm so sad "at" you. We used to be such good friends. I had been craving some Jamaican food for a while. Because of the tasty food served at this establishment in the past, this was one of my go-to-spots. But now, I think this spot is on a slide... Sliding right on down.... Right off of my personal list of "go-to's". Now, I'm not saying that this is any special list. But it is a list that's special to me. Firstly, customer service with the cashier, where I placed my order, was poor. I wanted to order oxtails. The cashier asked bluntly, "large or small?". I responded by asking what the difference was between the two. Perhaps the small came with one side, while the large came with two. Or, perhaps the small has 4 oxtails while the large has 8? I didn't know. I was trying to inquire, but the cashier was apparently annoyed beyond measure by the genuine question. She then responded by saying that they were the same because they both came with two sides. That was confusing. So I just said, "large", hoping that I'd somehow have a meal that afforded left overs. The meal came out pretty fast. I was not asked what sides I wanted or told what the options were. The meal came with rice & peas and cabbage. By luck of the draw, it so happened that I was not opposed to either of the sides. But it would have been nice to have the opportunity to know the options. I also ordered a jamaican patty which was hastily handed to me. Luckily, I knew to look at my receipt to find my order number and then wait & listen for my number to be called. But if I was a newbie, I would have been totally lost since the cashier did not mention any "next steps" after payment was complete. Unfortunately, my oxtails were not made with much "love". They were very bland. And they had not been trimmed of excess fat. The Cabbage was greasy and too raw for my personal preference. I really didn't enjoy my meal. I feel as if I wasted good money on mediocre food and poor service. The jamaican patty was also void of spice, despite being labeled as "spicy". Sealed, leakproof, and included everything you needed! The food...OMG...where do I begin?! The Oxtail dinner was a 10/10! Filled with oxtail and heavy gravy! I've visited a few times now and every single visit has been consistent. Everyone does not make ackee and salt fish that tastes like home, but THEY do. I recently drove home from Miami and HAD to make a pit stop. I also tried their oxtail patty (first I've ever tasted an oxtail patty) and it was absolutely amazing. How do they do it?!! lol The shop is huge - there's a small shop up front that sells clothing, a main counter and in the far right, a lounge. I am unsure if all have the same hours or when they fall, but you have the option of ordering to dine-in. Service is always speedy and consistent. I really appreciate their pricing/portions - I've always ordered a small ackee platter and it's more than enough. The food speaks for itself. I placed an order 2 days for a simple order of 24 patties went to pick up my order today and they tried to give me cold patties that I did not order I asked for a refund and the manager who was completely rude ignored me and denied me my refund that sauce is a third party and that my issue. Management is rude, service is horrible I just want my complete refund with tip. Sunshine Caribbean bakery is the worst and I will never be back. I need my complete refund how do I make a formal complaint to the owner on the manager on duty? She refused to give her name but I do have a picture of her. She completely walked away from me and was extremely rude without me even saying anything. I asked for the best where to reach out to sauce the lady told me she doesn't know and I need to figure it out because sauce is a third party. My go to here are veggie paddy, oxtail, or curry chicken. The red pea soup, and Fish do when they have. It are A1. I also love the breakfast here. This is my favorite Jamaican restaurant in the central Florida area. My friend who is from the islands was going to a popular chain restaurant because they were good in New York. However, I told him they were not Down here. I referred him to Craven sunshine bakery while he was here for work and he went there every day and raved about how wonderful the food was. Every time you come in you're welcome by music and align. This is a great thing, though, however, given that it's hard to find good restaurants and people know this is a great place to eat.
