The food is always a hit! Service is fast. The ambiance is get in/out. Very clean establishement.

I was pretty disappointed during my most recent visit. The Oxtail was extremely tough and inedible. It was as if the cooking was rushed. I ended up throwing the plate out and only eating some of the rice and plantain. It's a bit disappointing to spend so much on a plate of food and for the quality to be lacking. Golden Krust should be ashamed of themselves for selling "bread" as carrot cake! My husband bought me a slice. It didn't have any shredded carrots or anything else in it. It didn't have any frosting on it. It wasn't wedge shaped. It was a thin slice of "slightly carrot and ginger flavored" bread. Jerk chicken was fresh, moist, and mildly spicy. The platter included four pieces of chicken, along with three sides: fried plantains, rice and beans, and cabbage. The fried plantains were warm and sweet, while the rice and beans were fluffy, and flavorful. The cabbage was a mix of green beans, carrots, corn, and Lima beans. The portion size of the small platter could easily be mistaken for a large. I also added a carrot cake to my order, which was an added bonus. It was fresh, moist, lightly sweet, and mixed with walnuts and raisins. They just stare without greeting you with so much as a friendly smile or a thank you! Our server was Kaye Ingram S as printed on receipt she also cashed us out. We decided to dine in and looked at several tables and all were dirty with dried up food. After looking at several tables my daughter went over to the register to ask her if she could come over and clean the table for us. She came over with no urgency looked at the table as if she didn't see the need to bother her. Therefore, I helped her out by pointing out the stuck on food. I could tell by her demeanor, lack of conversation and facial expressions that she wasn't pleased. She slowly walked towards the door where a water bucket sat on top of the garbage bin and began rolling a wash rag around in the water all while staring out at the parking lot! This seemed to be intentional as she delayed washing the table while at the same time checking out the outdoor scenery! We were patient until it became obviously clear what she was doing. The I said politely " anytime today would be fine"; with that said she came over and barely touched the table leaving it still a mess. I pointed to areas that needed additional attention which she grudgedly wiped. I was taken aback by the horrible customer service especially since there were other customers dining in! I have been to this location many many times and I will keep coming back.  The best thing I can say about this place is that the food is consistently very good.  Their portions are generous and can usually last a couple of days. The food tastes just as good the second day. I can suggest the curry chicken, chicken roti and wifey likes the brown stew chicken. I wasn't going to even leave a review but I woke up upset about how this was handled last night. My wife order UberEats pickup from this location and upon arrival, the cashier said that our order hadn't come in but in the app it was reflecting that it was ready. The cashier also told me it had to be at another store. With no complaints, called my wife to confirm the address and I was indeed at the correct restaurant. Showing them a screenshot of the order, it still took them another 15 mins to fulfill the order and correct their mistake. No apology or anything, just a rush to click the "order has been picked up button" in the app. Although this restaurant isn't far from the neighborhood, and the food is delicious, I can't return to be serviced here as the professionalism seems to be about only money. I visited this location yesterday with the intention of ordering a curry shrimp plate. The menu showed only one size, large @ $17.xx. I placed my order and requested the spinach rice because it's so delicious! But I noticed the size container she was using was a small, so I inquired. The server kept repeating that the curry shrimp only came in one size. I told her that I understood that but the menu shows the size to be large. She became very dismissive as if I didn't understand what "Lrg." in the menu indicted. I pointed out to her that the menu shows "Lrg." and surely that means "Large". She proceeded to ignore my request and asked if I wanted cabbage. I then asked if a manager was available and she shook her head "no." I promptly walked out without purchasing anything. Gave me food poisoning. Was sick for three days. I ate their 6 wings tossed in a sweet spicy type of sauce.

I arrived 2 minutes after lunch (3:02pm) and asked for the jerk chicken lunch special. They told me they couldn't give it to me. I was like ok, that's understandable. However, when I drove home and got settled in to eat my food... I opened the box and it was a fish head. I was given the wrong food . I drove all the way back to the store. I advised the store manager Shanica of the issue. She asked me to throw the food in the trash . I was given no discount, no apology, not even offered a drink--just asked to throw the food away. I advised I would rather just give the food to someone else rather than wasting it by throwing it in the trash. She stated I must throw it away to receive the food I ordered. I feel like I've wasted time and gas and wasn't compensated appropriately. I do not recommend this location. read more

As I wait in the drive Thru, two cars ahead of me just to place my order, I decided to write this long-delayed review of this place. The food is never the problem. One of the most consistent eateries I've ever been to. The issue has been and always will be the customer service and lack of regard to "time". Even before the pandemic, they were dreadfully slow. Then, once the drive-thru finally opened, they've reached all sorts of heights of slowness. Let's be real though: the average customer that doesn't know what they want and talking on their cellphones while placing an order is about 50% of the problem. You have to be a real idiot not to know what you want at a slow establishment that practically gives you all the time you need to make up your mind. Or write a review while burning gas waiting on line. Finally, I'm at the box to order my food... I'm told to wait. So I decided to decrease a star in this review for every five minutes I have to wait just to order. Down to two stars and they don't have this food or that food... always out of something. You can argue it's 5pm and it's a dinner rush. But tell me that logic if you're known as a restaurant that runs out of food? McDonald's: 'sorry. We're out of burgers'. Taco Bell: 'sorry we're out of tacos' Chick fi la: 'sorry we're out of chicken' I remember one time ordering oxtail with white rice. No gravy on the rice. Come to get it, and it's not the order I wanted. Given an opportunity to 'not give a damn' about your order, they do it at the drive thru so I highly recommend you mask up and go inside if you order something too complex for the simple uncaring minds. Just had another bad experience at this location. Got a craving for the curry shrimp early today, golden krust opened at 11am. Came with 2 friends and we were all ready to order some curry shrimp. We walk in and order and they tell us there is no curry shrimp and they don't make it until later in the afternoon. Talking about it's still breakfast. Ma'am it's 11am, it's not still breakfast lol. And why is it on the menu? We are pescatarian so we don't eat chicken and beef, it's not the same. We ended up leaving and I called the Golden Krust on Redan and she said they have curry shrimp ready. So that's where we are headed right now. First time trying today & I was very impressed! I had the shrimp patti with 5 jerk chicken wings yum! Everything was fresh & hot and definitely satisfied my 420 high. Lol. I asked what kinda chicken is this? She told me the flavor and I said can I have this? I'm impressed. TBH, usually Jamaican businesses have rude staff. This wasn't the case. I knew the food would be good because there was a line around the building for drive-thru. I went inside for faster service. Mask required. No dine-in seating. Food looks fresh & plenty. Various dishes and sides to choose from @ least 10-15. I've had oxtails and also curry chicken with curry vegetables $1 more. I used to work a few exits away and it was a lunch run maybe 3x. I'll return when on that side of town. read more
