    Large curry chicken

I underestimated this spot. The location is sketchy, that is not an understatement. This is not the kind of shop you need to walk in with a wimpy confidence level. Parking is right. The menu is handwritten on the wall, and there is a cooler of beverages. My food came out quick. Now I ordered a large curry chicken. You have an option of steamed white rice/rice and peas, cabbage/salad. I went with rice and peas and cabbage. Not disappointed at all. Food smelled and tasted like I traveled to the Caribbean and somebodies granny prepared my food. I'm mad I haven't been here sooner. I didn't want it to end. Only my waistline was happy I stopped stuffing my gut.

I eat here like 3x/week and i LOVE this place. Like most Caribbean restaurants, they don't care about the ambiance but the food is phenomenal! I used to eat Fireside all the time until i stumbled into this place. Their brown stew chicken is top tier.

This restaurant is conveniently located on Redan Road. The parking lot can be a bit crowded at times, since the restaurant shares the lot with several other businesses. I have visited this restaurant several times since moving to the Metro Atlanta area. I always get the jerk chicken dinner or a beef patty. So far, they have been pretty consistent. The food has been quick, hot, and delicious each time I've visited. On Fridays, jerk wings are available as a daily special, which works great for me since I don't care for dark meat. The chicken has always been flavorful and the plantains have always been sweet. The cabbage can be a hit or miss though. That's the one item that doesn't always taste the same.

    Now open on Sundays!

This is one of our favorite places to get Jamaican food; the wife absolutely has designated them her number 1 spot. Do know some of their dishes can come across a little spicy, but all of them will be full of flavor. I like that you can also buy grocery items from behind the counter as well. They keep the beverage coolers always stocked and they also have Jamaican flavored ice cream. I recommend the jerk pork, stew chicken or beef. The wife absolutely loves the oxtails.

Their current health score of 96 is a testament to this commitment. Hands down, this is one of the best experiences in Stone Mountain. James was our bartender and sherpa this evening. He certainly treated us well, and was the consummate professional and veteran! This made the ambiance even more appealing while setting the stage for some really memorable eats and a first date filled with mutual gratitude. The food here is next level Jamaican inspired and phenomenal. We had the oxtail sliders, plantain boat with jerk chicken, and the shrimp tacos. Everything tasted amazing and was expertly presented/plated. While this place seems to draw a 24-35 year old demographic based on social media content, older folks will also love this place. Looking forward to more from this team in the years to come. Also, the bathroom and public areas are squeaky clean! Well done!

I don't recall the woman name at the bar but she was helpful and friendly. They were playing Chris Brown & I asked who's the CB fan cuz that all we heard. NO COMPLAINTS; I LOVE HIM TOO. And they serve Pepsi WIN WIN I'm a Pepsi girlie so I was excited about that. I ordered the salmon & the girls ordered the fried chicken. My food was good. The portions were perfect. I tried my daughter's fried chicken which was also good. It wasn't hot though. Her friends said hers was. All & all I enjoyed and I see they're only 7 minutes from my house so I will return. I would recommend as well.

First time at Sunshine. I honestly do not eat at a lot of restaurants on Memorial Drive but a…read morefriend told me Sunshine was good. Service - didn't get a greeting when we walked in, the lady was sitting in a chair at the register, there was one guy In there sitting down waiting on this food so she was not busy. They had a few fish dishes on their menu but had NO fish at all that day (weekday). I mean they were out of everything seafood and they were out of sorrel. This should have been a sign to leave but I settled with a small oxtail meal. They do open the box for you to see your food before leaving, no corrections or complaints after you leave. Well, I wish I would have took a closer look at the "plantains" bc it was absolute mush! It looked so terrible, I thought it was fat from the oxtail... they literally served spoiled plantain on both of our plates, I tasted it & it was definitely rotten. I love plantains when I eat Jamaican food & the fact that it was rotten was very disrespectful. The oxtail was small, not a lot of meat but the flavor was decent although I would have preferred more gravy. Rice & peas and the cabbage were average. As far as the inside, not much sunshine in there, just get it Togo. Oh! And the health score was 81 which should have been another sign to leave. There are better Jamaican restaurants to visit.
