I would say at least 10 to 12 cars could fit in the parking lot so you need to be in and out. Listen, this food is really good! I'm always on the hunt for a good Jamaican food restaurant. Finally, AUTHENTIC tasting patties. The texture, perfect. They were hot and fresh because I got there when they opened. I demolished them. There rice and peas! Oh my god, the best TEXTURE rice and peas I have ever had in life. It was so soft and fluffy. I will say, the overall taste of the oxtail was nothing special. I think I've had others with heavier flavor, but it was really good still. I ordered a side of plantains, they were delicious. The way I like them. Perfect ripeness. I stopped going to Fireside because the rudeness and lack of customer service was above my tolerance level. So I've been doing without Jamaican food for majority of the year. Other places closer to me are horrible. I had this on my list for a while but never had time to stop. Stopped today as I was last minute shopping before travel and wanted Jamaican food. I didn't even look or notice the time was 10mins to 12pm. But the door was open and they took my order. Now, for the cons, in 2026, I will not be buying or supporting Jamaican Food restaurants because I spent over $40 on one meal, two patties, and a side of plantain! No drink. It's pretty good. This was my third time visiting and ordering food. On this trip I asked a a little oxtail gravy on the peas and rice and the server said she would put it in a sauce up. When she brought it out, it had 3/4 worth of fat in the container and a little bit of seasoned gravy. In fact, it was so much fat the container top would not close, because it would slide off. So I did without. The peas and rice were tasty and the rice was fluffy. The brown stew chicken was delicious. I'm sure they have other dishes that would blow What I ordered away. I'll look for that opportunity the next time. Photo speaks for itself. Yes I would dine again. Prices are high, a lunch plate of chicken cost 22.00 plus a 5 dollar tip that I added out of generosity. In the 5 years I've lived in Georgia I've been to COUNTLESS Jamaican food spots. I didn't think much of this spot from its outside appearance but when I entered...It felt like I was transported to Negril. The furnishings, the colors, it's a Total chill vibe. I asked for the 1/4 chicken with bread, a jerk patty and some cocoa bread. I remember it taking a minute to come out but WHOAAAAHH waaaaas it worth it! This spot has THE best jerk chicken I've had since I've been in the state of Georgia HANDS DOWN. Sooooo flavorful and falling off the bone. The jerk patty was even crazy dope. It was so good that I ate it by itself and was about to toss the cocoa bread I purchased with it on account of my full stomach but something said...ahhh might as well try it first... The first thing that I noticed was that she placed the patty in a bag I've never seen in a Jamaican restaurant. I've been waiting to see if I really needed to update my review bc my 1st experience was so amazing. But honestly after going back about 4 times I'm starting think my 1st time was their only ON day. Every time I've been back since, the rice has been different and consistently so in the worst way. Not at all like the 1st time. While in the ATL, my friend suggested we try this place. We ordered the jerk pork bread sandwich which was delicious except why the restaurant does not have ketchup. This was a let down thus the lowered score. Service could have been better as our food too forever to be ready. There were other patrons there who seem to be a bit agitated by the slow service. As for the ambiance, it's was just ok with no real appeal. This is not a date restaurant especially if you are trying to impress. As we arrived, I noticed they had their own small parking lot. We found a spot quickly and headed inside. The interior had a tropical design, and everything looked super clean. We walked up to the counter and saw a sign highlighting online or phone orders, but I asked and confirmed that you can also order in person. I scanned the QR code for the full menu and noticed they also had it posted behind the counter. We weren't ready to order yet, so we let the person behind us go first. After his quick interaction, the staff member behind the counter stepped away for about 10 minutes, which we later realized was to handle his take out order. When she returned, we placed our order. Wifey went with the medium Brown Stew Chicken, and I ordered the medium Curry Chicken. She told us it would be about 5-10 minutes, so I set a timer on my phone. While we waited, we enjoyed authentic reggae music playing in the background, and I noticed a steady flow of people coming in to order and pick up. We waited and waited; it ended up being closer to 30 minutes before our food was ready. We scooped up the to-go bag and headed home. While driving home the good smell of the food was filling up the car. Once home, we unpacked and started digging in. I was impressed from the 1st bite, the chicken was seasoned well and tasted great. When I first opened the carton, I was also impressed by the portion size, but as I started digging in, I realized there wasn't as much chicken as it initially looked. Some of the pieces were bony, so the ratio of rice and peas to chicken leaned heavily toward the rice and peas. Wifey, on the other hand, said her chicken was meatier and just as tasty. Overall, the staff was pleasant, the space was spotless, and the food was flavorful. Although the portions were a bit uneven and the wait was longer than expected, it was still a pretty good experience. I chose pickup, paid for my order, and when I arrived for my food they did not have the order and the cashier and a lady from the back(I guess owner) said, "oh, I don't want to use grub hub anymore. I had oxtail and jerk pork that was very good. I had jerk chicken delivered, two for one special. It was off putting bc it was giving other meat vibes. Like they served some other type of bird and called it chicken. Some people can't tell the difference but the size of the leg quarter (skinny) and the texture of the meat tells it all. Some things Amazing, some things just weren't for me. The bread pudding is far too dense and not very sweet but otherwise tasty. The rice and peas were really good, but very dry. I would've liked more oxtail juice. Quite simply, these are the best oxtails in the Atlanta area. I used to think Conch Heaven was, but this has forced them to slide down to number 2. They are delectable, tender, spicy and meaty and the portion size was generous. The Jerk Pork was not extremely jerky or spicy but more smoke. It taste as if it came out of a brick oven. Every piece, fat and all, is easy to eat and ultimately one of the best pork dishes I've had. The plantains have changed my view on plantains. There was a time I didn't eat them and as I've started to taste and appreciate them, these plantains have now become the standard for what I need all to taste like. Service was delayed but polite. Best Caribbean food I've had in Georgia! We past this place a lot it's off to the side so it's very tucked away but we kept saying we were going to try them. I'm beyond happy we finally went because their food is so good! We got two jerk platters with mango and jerk sauce, we also got fries and the fried chicken for our kids and everything was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The restaurant is located off the beaten path in a small building on Chupp road in Lithonia. They have several booths and tables for guests dining in. Their jerk chicken is some of the best I've ever tasted. It's actually grilled and the meat is juicy and flavorful. The jerk bbq sauce is amazing! Don't skip it. You get a lot of food for your money here. The rice & peas could be seasoned more. The conch fritters are delicious and huge. They come with a tasty mango sauce. The service is fast and friendly. The only down side is that they're only open on Friday and Saturday, so I have to wait until the weekend to get my jerk fix. read more

Instead of professionally addressing my disappointment as a first and now last time customer you chose to be the JERK in your Jerk chicken. So I don't live anywhere close to here but my friend highly recommended it for Jamaican jerk chicken, which I've never had. He said it's a place that actually grills the chicken which in his opinion is a must when it comes to jerk chicken. So I was up for the drive to check it out. It's a really tiny unassuming place with very challenged parking. There was a group of really loud boisterous men when we went inside. Very very loud indeed with those men there. You place your order at the counter and then you wait. The wait was probably close to half an hour but we did order a bunch of stuff other then just the jerk chicken. Fried green plantains, breadfruit, and bammy sticks. The order came with bread, the big carby pieces that remind me of King Hawaiian rolls. The chicken was really moist and flavorful. It came with some type of sauce like a barbecue-type sauce that was really a good accompaniment. It truly didn't even need the sauce but I'm a sauce queen. Not sure how I feel about breadfruit. It was a little dry. The plantains were the okay but I'm not really a fried food fan unless it's French fries or calamari, lightly breaded at that. We go here consistently now and actually used them as one of our 2 caterers for our wedding. I'm reviewing our catering order... The jerk chicken is outstanding and is never dry. The hot jerk sauce is bomb! The jerk pork was so tender and wasn't fatty, and the rice and peas was good and authentic. The rolls are so fresh and our guests raved about the "Jamaican" portion of our wedding menu. Tanya was very professional, quick to respond via email, and arrived ON TIME wo a hiccup. Their prices are also very reasonable for catering and general ordering. We just came on Friday for our dinner after the wedding and got it to go. I love Tropics and they have very friendly staff!
