The soup was amazing, you can actually fill two bellies. Great customer service and family welcome while we were eating a lot of people came by talking to who I believed is the owner of the restaurant. So the ambience is family friendly.

Golden Monkey Cafe offers some tasty Cambodian food in Lynn. The nam chow (summer rolls) and meekathang (like a pad see ew) are my favorite. Both are very fresh and flavorful; I recommend getting the gravy for the noodles so it's more like a lad na. I don't like a lot of sauce but wish I would have ordered it. I also loved the Cambodian pickled vegetables (similar to atchara), which were great. I didn't love the lemongrass beef or tofu dish; thought both were bland. I wish tofu could be added to the noodle and stir-fries. I hope they do well and excited to return when back home.

My friends and I just had to pop in when we found this local Khmer spot. Since it was a soft opening day, they didn't have their skewers as well as other items available yet. We shared some eggs rolls while sipping on a mango and taro slush made at their service window. The egg rolls didn't have a ton of meat but were good for holding us over while we waited. Entrees consisted of the meekathang, ramen, and pork chop with fried rice. I didn't try the meekathang but it did look good. I found my pork chop to be a little bland and could have used some more time to caramelize but the fried rice was decent. My favorite dish was the ramen even though they seemed to have used instant noodles for it. The broth was deliciously seasoned with a few pieces of bok choy. The owner kindly provided us with complementary banana fritters which were an excellent way to end the meal. Nothing like a sweet fried carbohydrate to fill up the stomach. Overall, a good experience that I would like to visit again. I recommend supporting all small establishments especially after the impact of COVID.

Quick and friendly service! Love that there's another Cambodian restaurant in the area. The "me ka thung" has an option for gravy (saucy) or dry. This dish is similar to beef chow foon (Chinese dish) or pad see ew (Thai dish). Reasonable prices esp the smoothies/shakes.

I went to grab a bite last weekend before the snowstorm of Sunday. It was luckily quiet in the mid afternoon and the small lot was free of other cars. I ordered the Ramen with seafood along with a side order of the fried chicken wings with lemon grass sauce. After the meal, I added a mango boba as well to top it all off. There are several Cambodian restaurants in the area, but overall it is still rare so it is great to have one around when I am seeking traditional Cambodian/Khmer dishes. It's not a large space, cozy enough to seat a few tables and everything is simple with a large wall menu behind the counter or paper menu if you choose. The employees are very courteous and friendly. I suspect it is a family business give and you can just tell they take care of customers unlike a corporate restaurant. The ramen soup came out quick and looked great! Initially, the broth was rather plain but I forgot to add the slice of lime and let the flavors marinate for a bit. You have to treat this ramen like pho and not like the way of Japanese ramen which is a bit saltier by default. Once you add in your lime, chili, and pepper then it tasted great. Perfect for the cold weather nowadays and I love the thin noodles in a pretty decently sized bowl. Since I have a big appetite, chicken wing side dishes are usually my go to. They were very crispy and flavorful if you got the wings with the lemon grass sauce. If they added a bit more sauce then it would be even better or a little sauce plate. Really complemented the ramen well in my opinion. My only disappointment was the mango boba. It felt a little bit watered down compared to other places which then diluted the flavor. Still good nonetheless but not the best I've tasted. They have quite the wide variety of foods on their menu from appetizers to other noodles and rice dishes. Golden Monkey Cafe is definitely on my go to list now for Cambodian food.

Lemon grass chicken wings. Wow...your senses will thank you.

Stopped in here for a quick to go snack. I was not disappointed! The chicken wings lemon grass sauce blew me away. So tasty. The spring rolls are fresh and full and soft and ooo so yummy. Filled with rice , rice noodles, veggies , shrimp, and sliced chicken. Mild vinegar sauce with crushed peanuts. Definitely good sized portion for one / maybe two. The meals look great - I can't wait to go back and try another dish. (Literally) mom is out back cooking and her son runs the front. Clean. They have three tables inside and looks like porch seating when the weather is nicer. It's great to have an authentic Cambodian restaurant in the neighborhood. Something new and different. I will definitely be a regular at this spot!

Stop in for the shaved ice, it was really good. My only complaint is less syrup and more condense milk.

Crispy chicken and fried rice which is sooo good

My boyfriend and I have been three times so far the restaurant is super nice and clean and super friendly workers I am pretty sure it's a family run which is even cooler. Support your local businesses

This time we were ravenous, having spent 12 hours carrying heavy boxes and furniture all day, so primed for a good meal. The Rouleaux egg rolls were superb and the steamed shrimp & crab dumplings outstanding, both accompanied by simple but distinct sauces that really made them pop. Our entrees were equally impressive. The crispy fried catfish (Trey Tuk Peng Pah) and seafood noodles (Crevettes, Moules, Champignon Et Pates De Riz Au Gingembre) are my favorites. Such fresh ingredients combined with striking flavors really made it enjoyable. Our server was engaging and had very helpful insights as well.

The reviews looked good and I was excited to try their unique menu... well, let's just say we were very disappointed. First of all the prices are very expensive. I know this is Boston, but $17 for a cocktail is ridiculous! Our server was lovely, he was very kind and had a kind spirit. I was excited to try the "Rouleaux" since they remind me of the eggrolls, my mother learned from her Vietnamese mother-in-law. It was very crispy, which unfortunately is the only good thing I can say about it. The flavor was so off. It's almost as if the ingredients in the Rouleaux were loudly competing for my attention simultaneously! It didn't really melt in your mouth either, it just felt heavy. The other appetizer we ordered was called Dumplings croustillants au poet epics. This was actually worse than first appetizer. I like lemongrass, but MAN the lemongrass was so overpowering. I started to wonder... "is this how it's always made"?! I'm not even exaggerating. Overall, the atmosphere was nice - definitely pricey, and the food isn't worth the hype. Till next eats, SJ

Pork intestine with pickled cabbage here: I think it's prepared really well, and if I have any objections, it might just be my own flavor palette. It's deep-fried first, and also braised, so it's crunchy and sweet, which isn't like any other preparation of pork intestine I've had (most of which have been Chinese). That said, even if it was a bit sweet for me, the pickled greens balanced it out a bit, and the crunch was pretty nice. Came with a pleasant tasting broth too.

Papaya salad! Yes please!…read more Stopped by for dinner from our trip to New Hampshire because we were craving some Cambodian cuisine. The restaurant is very spacious and the staff is very friendly. We were quickly seated on Sunday night and we were overwhelmed with the entree options because the picture menu was huge! We finally decided on a papaya salad, the spicy chicken with veggies and sauteed watercrest. The portions were a good size and everything tasted really good. I really liked the papaya salad because we ordered it spicy and it came packed with a spicy flavor. The papaya tasted fresh and we enjoyed eating with the big green leaves. The spicy chicken was also very good and it tasted great over white rice. We had a great meal and had leftovers to take home.
