R5- Roast pork and bbq pork
Stanley U.

This place by far is my work staple. Every Friday for as long as I remember this was the to go place. The staff are super friendly and always accommodating! The food is to die for, local Cambodian dishes with roasted meats and veggies. Coffee is always a plus as well. They recently did some renovation but there isn't much seating.

S3

First time ordering from here with a couple of friends. We ordered the S2, S3, and S6. We were all ecstatic with the freshness of the pickled carrots and radish. We even ordered a side portion which cost three dollars. The protein served inside the sandwiches were all fresh, crispy, and flavorful. The bread was flaky and soft as a traditional banh mi sandwich is. The cashier was very nice. Each sandwich came out to six dollars each, therefore the menu is not totally accurate with the prices listed. Overall, great experience it will definitely come again.

I drove by saw that the grand opening was today July 10 so I stopped to taste the cuisine. It's a good thing I stopped because the food is delicious. I ordered an S3 which is Satay Beef sandwich this year which consists of Satay Beef, cilantro garlic marinated radish, jalapeño and some kind of sauce all placed on a crunchy roll absolutely delicious‼ I also got a Thai iced tea that was made perfectly wwhat a taste excellent‼This is a great addition to lynn I will definitely frequent here, the food so far is definitely tasty, the staff were polite courteous and the restaurant is clean I Give Cafe Bayon a Solid 4 Stars

Chicken Satay Banh Mi

I wasn't expecting much when I stumbled upon this small Southeast Asian restaurant for lunch, but I can honestly say I was thrilled once I tasted the chicken satay banh mi sandwich I ordered. Truly blown away by how much I enjoyed the sauce. The veggies and chicken were complimented perfectly in a spicy, savory snack on a fresh flaky baguette. There's also a lot of other interesting entrees, drinks and sides on the menu I'll have to check out next time I go. Everything is very well priced and the service was great as well. Would definitely recommend visiting Cafe Bayon if you're craving bahn mi!

Banh mi is delicious. Get there early if you want the bbq pork as it sells out sometimes. Fresh pressed sugar cane juice too.

So many dishes were just an explosion of flavor in your mouth! I'm not a huge foodie or get weirded easily by consistency and I went all in and was so grateful! The service was impeccable! Squad is on top of it and all the little delights of surprise were the perfect touch! Especially the Verona chocolate add on as we exited! Ambiance was moody and just the vibe we wanted for our long overdue date night! A++ all around and can't wait to go back!

I also liked the lacquered fois gra and the bone marrow bahn mi and a slaw salad w apple and mushroom. Also highly enjoyed the ice cream at the end. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. And the woman- I think the front of the house manager was also kind and polite. Now for the rest of the food. We got the 14 course tasting menu. I wish I could grant it 5 stars but my husband And I agree it is a 3 star rating. The flavors were powerful on each dish - the overwhelming taste however was much TOO SALTY. This was the case for the egg noodles, the kale, the bahn mi, scallops even the chocolate mousse at the end. We also feel the portion sizes were just too small. Literally one bite for the majority. Some were 3 or 4 bites (salads). I know it's not the same type of restaurant but I can't help but to compare it to the Zuma experience at the Four Seasons in Boston. THAT was amazing. And the portions were 5 times bigger. Steak. Lobster. of course sushi and a magnificent dessert boat of highest quality gelato and fruit. An experience memorable for life. Nightshade won so many awards. We had to try it. But it didn't meet our exoectations. Portions need to be bigger. Flavors need to be more subtle on the salt. It is a beautiful and casual at the same time environment - people very friendly. And we appreciated the Anniversary card!

This spot is located inside…read moreBambolima which is an Italian spot serving pizza which is a win for us since I got ramen and my daughter order cheese pizza. The service was great and our server was amazing. The ambiance was a little bar feeling with lots of wood tables which I liked. Now let's get to the food.. Pork buns: the pork was cooked perfectly and the bun was nice and soft. The sauce went well everything and it's a great starter dish. Spicy Kimchi Ramen- this consists of pork belly, pickled mushrooms, kimchi and fried garlic. The ramen was really good and had a lot of flavor with just the right amount of spice from the kimchi. Perfect for a cold day! Colonel Sanders Ramen- this had a pork broth with fried chicken and was delicious and moist. Also had corn with Vermont butter which you can taste through the bowl. This dish was the highlight for me and I'll definitely be back again. If you're in Salem, MA and are craving ramen then be sure to give this place a try.

This is a unique establishment in Salem, as it is two restaurants in one: Bambolina for pizzas,…read morepastas, and Italian fare, and Kokeshi for ramen and more Asian options. After seeing the price of the wood-fired pizzas and their actual size as they came out of the oven and were delivered to tables around us, my friend and I decided to stick with the Kokeshi side of things. We ordered an appetizer of Shishito peppers, which were outstanding: I did not know what to expect and whether they would be spicy or not, but these were perfectly roasted with soy, ginger, and scallions. I would 10 out of 10 order these again. For my main dish I ordered the spicy white kimchi ramen, which had Tokyo wavy noodles, roasted pork belly, cilantro, corn, spicy marinated mushrooms, scallions, fried garlic, and cilantro oil. Wow! What a flavor combination! From savory to spicy to sweet to smooth to crunchy and crispy. Overall it was a pretty perfect meal. In terms of the atmosphere, we sat at a high table in the middle of the restaurant, which gave it a more family atmosphere vibe, sitting right next to others. What I particularly loved was the 90s hip-hop soundtrack playing in the background. Notably, it was not blaring loud so that you had to yell to hear the person across from you (always a pet peeve of mine at restaurants). Our server was friendly and checked on us often to make sure we had everything we needed. This was my first trip to Kokeshi but it will not be my last, as it has become my new favorite restaurant in Salem.

Its small inside with tables for dine in. 4/5 drunken noodles was spicy and delicious. Arived fresh and hot. This was lunch portion so assuming its smaller sized. Think there was only one cook so things bit slower but fresh cook to order. 4/5 fighting fish roll was decent. Crunchy tofu skin exterior and packed with flavors of pork, crab and shrimp. Juicy and hot inside, good flavor and texture. 3.5 siam fried rice was decent and flavored well but just wasn't distinguishing itself enough. Service was decent, it was one guy doing waiter and cashier. He was back and forth and sometimes waiting inside kitchen. Things I've gotten: -Larb - quintessential, can't go wrong. -Thai Saap Pork Ribs Soup: SO GOOD. Sour and spicy (you can adjust the heat). It was perfect during the cold winter. The ribs were very tender and the broth was full of flavor. -Pad Thai - again, can't go wrong. -Wonton Soup - some of the best I've had. The broth was deliciously savory and so much tastier than the bland versions you get from most Chinese places. -Pad See Ew - also fantastic. -Rad Nah - appreciated that they packed the noodles separately so I could assemble the dish fresh. No soggy noodles. -Ka Prow Crispy Pork - by the time I got it home, it wasn't very crispy anymore but it didn't matter because the flavor was fantastic. -Crispy Chicken Basil - same thing, not too crispy but still delicious. Restaurant decor looks comfortable and there are a decent amount of tables inside. I haven't made the effort to eat onsite yet, but looking forward to doing that at some point because I definitely want to try their whole fish. It looks amazing! Can totally understand why some people would be intimidated by the location and look from outside, but looks can be deceiving! Absolutely worth the drive.
