Pretty happy with my acrylic full set $45 and pedicure $30! ( though some recent reviews said they got acrylic for $43?) Got a whole massage chair experience while I got my pedicure which was very nice. I only had to wait like ten minutes for me to get my nails done. They had slightly limited color options (at least for acrylic) and I'm not sure if they do a lot of special designs but I like the shaping of the nail and bead. Definitely coming back if I want something basic. I didn't get to cure my nails as much as I did in other salons so not sure if that is a good thing or bad thing. One nail coat did get a bit messed up on my way out and another feels softish.. and spilled over...oh well! Still overall not bad for the price. Also, each nail tech in there worked on me so I think they really optimize their skill sets! Update: I realized 2 of the nail extensions were not flush with my nail so there's space between my natural nail and fake nail. Is bothering me with all the debris that falls in there

I've come back a few times after my main shop closed and it's been sufficient when I'm desperate. This time though, I had to keep asking for them to take old polish off again, like 3-4 times! All I got was a sheer glitter fill on my nails and a French tip for my toes (no deluxe pedicure) and they charged me $110? Prices say $40 for fill and $35 for gel pedicure, so I must've gotten charged $20 extra for french tip and $15 for... removing polish? The lady here is always rude to me and obviously made up a price on the spot but after half my nails lifted in 3 days and an uneven French tip, I'm never going back.

Early fathers day. My sweetie and daughter treated me to "The Royal Pedicure." The was an upcharge but I was totally pampered. We walked in and were cheerfully greeted and seated. Covid restriction in place and the place was very clean. I got in my chair and the wonderful spa treatment ensued. So nice to be pampered. NINA, my nail expert was soooo attentive and exact. The cleaning and the massage got my in the sweet zone. Each level of the upscale pedi was so refreshing. I would easily return for this special treatment. All the oils, ointments, balms, or whatever their magic is, made my day. The menu gives several pedi options including hot stone, massage, and soothing lotion. I shine. Thank you NINA. I've been coming here for a while now and I have zero negative comments. On the contrary, the service is marvelous. Staff are all so nice and gentle every time. I do advise you to call in advance and make an app if you want to be seen right away, they can get busy!

Kevin ALWAYS does an amazing job! I go back and forth between shellac manicures and acrylic nails and they're always done PERFECTLY! I show Kevin a picture and he does exactly what I want! RUN to Golden Nails and have them take care of you! I've been coming here for decades and won't ever go anywhere else. Keep in mind I live in Vacaville and drive ALL the way to Berkeley to see them, yep they're worth it!

I really wanted to like this place. This is my first time coming here since it was closer to me and couldn't make the trip to my usual nail lady in Walnut Creek. Kim did a great job with my pedicure. After years of sticking to plain Gel I decided to get a full Acrylic set with gel and chrome for my manicure. I wanted to do something different and was excited! Kevin helped me and was nice. He was quick but didn't take the time to clean up my cuticles. I also noticed a lot of gaps between my actual nail and acrylic nail that's suppose to be glued together so it wouldn't lift (see photos). The gel-like powder was also layered down far from my cuticles so it looks like it's been grown out for some time. When Kevin was done there was another customer that came in as a walk-in for a full set so he passed me off to Daisy to add the color. I asked for bubble bath and to add chrome on top. I didn't know what color chrome to put so we tried a few. One had a blue-ish green tint. When she brushed it off I could hardly tell there was chrome on top of my nails and asked her if it was noticeable. At this point Daisy seemed to grow impatient and said it's suppose to look like that when I mentioned I could only see the blueish green color at the top of my cuticles and the edges. She ignored me and started to add the clear coat and told me it would go away. When I was done I mentioned to her that I could only still see the blue color on the edges of my nail so she told me to wash my hands and it will go away. I walk to the sink to wash my hands and I told Daisy that I still see the color up top. She then threw this white brush and told me to scrub it off and walks away! I was SHOCKED!!!! Not to mention the cleanliness of the place did not look up to standard. I washed my hands and when I went to pay she pulled up a photo and said all chromes look different. It seemed like she wanted to prove a point so I told her I understood and that I've gotten chrome on my nails before. I paid and left. I will not be coming back to this place and was disappointed with the service because I thought I would end up a happy customer based on a few reviews I've read before coming. Price is decent and less expensive than other places but it's true that you get what you pay for.

I got the hot stone pedicure and I a good hot stone massage with a detailed pedicure. My feet feel like clouds after this experience. They have several soothing aromatic moments throughout the pedicure process and the hot stone is very muscle intensive. Good for those who work on their feet ALOT. That have several types of pedicures. I'll share the ones I try as I try them.

I called the day of to make an appointment for 6:15, but I ended up showing up at 6:00 and they took me in. David did my nails and they look soooo good! I am in love!! I showed him two pictures and he was able to give me exactly what I wanted! He also paid so much attention to detail which I really appreciated. The store itself has a wide range of nail polishes to choose from, and they use DND gel which I have found is the gel polish that lasts longest on my nails/acrylics. The prices are pretty inexpensive, I got a full set of gel acrylics for $38 ((: I'm really happy I found this place and for sure will come back ((:

Start of a "last day of summer" tradition, says my 6yo. I took her here for her first "mommy and me" pedicure per her request. Made a reservation for 1030am, arrived a few min early, were greeted and treated promptly and courteously. I found the place unassuming, standard clean (like The Nail Shop on Solano), similarly priced to other places in the local area, and efficient. The woman I thought was the owner was friendly and - most importantly to me - everyone treated my 6yo with respect, great attention, and care. She LOVED the experience. We will be back - esp since we live close by!

I walk in for My appointment and Dasiy says the male nail tech will do My nails. I asked why not her and she says because she doesn't like to do acrylic nails. The guy sits down looks at My nails and starts looking at the nail polish rack, says something in their native language, gets up and Daisy starts doing them. I then ask if they have clear acrylic and Daisy says no. In that instance I looked around the shop and immediately called My regular nail shop. How are U a thriving, (supposed to be up to date) nail shop and U don't have clear acrylic or clear tips?! I didnt even let Daisy take the polish off both hands. I got it up and left. I am tired of driving 30mis from home to get My nails done and was hoping to find one closer but it's not working. Needless to say, I will never return to Golden Nails. EVER. read more

First time having my gel nails done here and I love it! I forgot to ask for her name but she was really good! Although it was getting a bit busy, she had to help other customers and answered the phone, but she managed to finish mine in about 30mins. Good range of colors to choose from. And the price though! Hard to beat it. Mine was $28 in total, $25 gel and the gold flakes are $3 for 2 nails, excluding tips! Will be back for sure! read more

I went there yesterday for the first time. I'm in town for business. Kevin is who did my nails, a full set with gel color. He first greeted me then proceeded to give me a little bottle of water and a small dish of candies, which I thought was a great gesture. For my nails, he really did a great job. He shaped them perfectly, he was quick but while doing a great job. He didn't try to make me overpay like most nail salons do, and he was very kind. I will absolutely be back while I'm here, and I absolutely recommend this place, see Kevin!!! read more

Was hoping for a walk in pedicure; near closing time and I asked if I should come back another time---between the three employees there I was finally able to understand what they were trying to convey---either come back later or the next day. I was not greeted upon arrival and was told I HAD to have the men's sports pedicure package even though other options are listed. I am not planning on patronizing this place especially when people speak amongst themselves in their native tongue under their breath. Call me rascist but I'm Asian and don't put up with that crap from any race. read more

I've been searching for a reasonably priced yet excellent nail spa in the Bay Area for a while and I think I've found it! I came in on a Friday after work (crazy rush hour) and they had time for me to get a gel mani and deluxe pedicure. Kevin was so friendly and they supplied me with a mini water and some super yummy melon candies. Everyone was so friendly and the customer service was everything you could ask for. Clean tools and foot baths. They really are on top of it there. There is a wide selection of colors, no fancy designs really but every color you could wish for - and I usually go for the weird ones. They shaped my nails perfectly, the execution of the whole manicure was phenomenal. I've had my mani now for almost 3 weeks and there has been no peeling/chipping AT ALL!! I'll be back this week for a color update and for any future nail appointments as well! :) read more

I LOVE this place. I've been here twice now. The first time was for a regular manicure and most recently was for a gel manicure. Both looked amazing and were reasonably priced. The products they use are top notch and last a long time. They are very friendly and take the time to make sure your nails look perfect when you walk out the door. I rarely get my nails done due to the expense but I love the experience so I'm always out looking for a great deal in value and service. This was my first time at Golden Nails Salon and I had an incredible time due to the extremely kind and experienced staff. I chose the $25 Paraffin Foot Wrap Spa Pedicure which started out with a nice and relaxing foot spa. Daisy took her time with the massage and exfoliation. The Paraffin Foot wrap looked kinda funny as it was just some orange looking liquid put in bags where you put your feet in but it felt really nice to feel it soaking in and feeling so moisturized after. The nail polish was selected from a wide-selection of OPI nail polish and applied beautifully. Also when my parking meter ran out of time Daisy was kind enough to put in coins for me. I'll definitely be back when I decide it's time for another treat yourself day!! read more

I've driven past this place a lot and I'm glad I finally stopped in! Kevin was very gentle with my manicure. He expertly filed my nails and prepped them for polish. I chose this place specifically for their large selection of cat eye polishes and they did not disappoint! I also loved that as I was getting my nails done, many regulars came through the door and would joke with staff. My only qualm is that they don't do nail art! Otherwise solid spot :) read more

Didnt like how the man painted my nails..color was on me..paint job was on man working there...i explained my dalema and they was going to charge me 45.00 for a repaint on fingers and toes..my daughter and i go in once a month and spend 100 to 140. A typical nail salon with massage chairs and massaging foot spas. Small water bottles and candies provided to each patron. Interestingly enough they also do hair cuts and waxing and had one hair station set up in the front. Nicely priced. I got one of the deluxe pedicures (hot stone) for $25 (regular pedicures are $20). They have a fairly large selection of colors and brands: OPI, Gelish, Essie to name a few. I loved that they had sanitized tools from a sealed pack that were opened for each guest. Each foot tub was lined with a single-use plastic protector as well. The pedicure itself lasted about 45 mins excluding the time to dry and included typical pedicure detailing, a callus scrub on a pumice stone, lemon sugar scrub, hot stone massage, and a lotion massage. I knocked off a star because during the pedicure the nail technician used the cuticle cutter to cut the skin on the sides of my big toes. She cut it pretty deep and while it didn't bleed, you could definitely see it was pink and raw from the cutting. I did not like how she used the cuticle cutters to essentially cut the sides of each of my toe cutting the nail itself and the skin next to it. Otherwise, a very affordable place to get your nails done and only an extra $5 for your choice of deluxe treatm UPDATED: Removing a star for service. Came back for a pedicure and was asked if I was with the people currently waiting. I said no and then was told to come back later. There was only two people ahead of me. read more

Classy Nail Salon in El Cerrito damaged my toenails during a gel pedicure; I have spent the last few months waiting for my toenails to grow back out, and I ended up with ingrown and strangely shaped toenails. Have been here once before and really liked my manicure so I figured I would go back. But as of today I won't be returning. Poor customer service!! Specifically called and asked if I could come in for a manicure. When I showed up they told me they no longer had time. Waste of an uber ride, and last time I'll come here. What's the point of calling for a time if you won't honor it? read more

Came here on a whim after shopping across the street at REI. Had solid Yelp reviews, so I thought I'd give a new place a try and I'm so glad I did. Daisy and the other ladies who work there are so sweet. I got a mani/pedi for $30. I had just gotten back from a backpacking trip and my feet needed some extra love, and now they look and feel great :) You can park on San Pablo (paid parking) or in the neighborhood for free. Bonus: Wifi! Will definitely be back - best mani/pedi experience I've had in the East Bay! read more

Super reasonable prices and generally easy to get an appointment on a weekday night around 6pm, when I usually go. I don't get manicures very often, mostly because I'm pretty good at painting my own nails and am kind of a perfectionist so if anything is a little off, it annoys me! I've gotten a few manicures/pedicures at this place and have been happy every time with the quality of the job and how long the gel nails have lasted. My most recent manicure was the tiger or cat eye shellac (costs $5 extra- worth it!) and they definitely grew out and looked a little janky but didn't chip or peel up at all for THREE WEEKS and even after getting a few chips still held strong well after that. read more

This place rocks. I've been to a handful of Berkeley and SF nail spots since I moved here last year from New York and have realized the nail salon scene is quite different from NYC. Gel manicures are done with expert attention to detail and unlike other places who make you feel like an outsider while they chit chat among one another while they sit right in front of you, Golden Nails talks to you and makes you feel welcome... even invites you back! My manicure was the best thus far and so I intend on returning regularly for both manicures and pedicures. Yay to new favorite places!! read more

I almost don't want to leave a fantastic review because I don't want them to be discovered more than they already are (well, it's too late for that, they got super-busy right after I got there at 11 AM). I made an appointment for my sister and me to get pedicures and I opted for the paraffin pedi, my favorite. I had Daisy - she did SUCH a meticulous and good job and my feet look and feel amazing. Ahh, so relaxing. My new go-to spot for feet (and hands, when I want that, too). Highly recommend, and will for sure be back to see Daisy! read more

This is my go to spot. They are very attentive, super nice, and I like how they evaluate my nail bed shape to recommend the best shape for my actual nail. This was my first Brazilian, and instead of creating a calm, supportive environment, Meena became visibly agitated and began loudly ranting about political issues related to her home country, then she began yelling. Her tone escalated to the point where it felt aggressive. I was lying exposed on the table during this. I expressed that I was uncomfortable, and I had to be the one to regulate her emotions, while she stopped speaking so loudly and intensely, the energy in the room shifted in a way that felt tense and hostile for the remainder of the appointment. A Brazilian wax requires a high level of trust. Clients are physically vulnerable and often anxious, especially the first time. Emotional regulation and professionalism are not optional in that setting. At the end of the service, while I was still in a vulnerable state, she took out her phone and began showing me graphic videos, including footage of people being killed. Being shown violent content during a waxing appointment is completely inappropriate and deeply distressing. I did not consent to being exposed to graphic material, and it was extremely uncomfortable. I was also given zero aftercare instructions despite clearly stating this was my first Brazilian. No guidance about heat exposure, friction, exfoliation timing, or what to expect post-wax. Within 24 hours, I developed significant redness across the area. Without aftercare direction, I was left anxious about whether this reaction was normal. This experience felt emotionally unsafe and lacked basic professional boundaries. A service that intimate should feel calm, respectful, and supportive -- not tense, aggressive, and unpredictable. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, because clients deserve safety and professionalism in spaces like this

Luckily their location was not terrible to find, as there was ample street parking. When I walked in, the warm and friendly receptionist greeted and made me feel right at home. Throughout my visit, Shannon shared me with her wealth of knowledge of the various AHAs as well as retinoid products. I love that we were able to geek out on which products to use to achieve brightening effects. She also made some recommendations based on my skin type such as mandelic acid instead of glycolic acid for gentle exfoliation. Without trying to oversell me her products, she suggested that I try over-the-counter Nizoral antifungal wash for possible white-heads that pop up occasionally as well as prescription tretinoin since I had a few hyperpigmented spots that I wanted to fade/brighten. Given it was my first time there, she did allow me to use my credit card to pay but informed me that she only accepted cash or checks to help keep operating costs down. Since my back issues were minor based on her assessment, I did not schedule a return visit. I so very much appreciate her sound and scientifically backed advice (I also follow various certified dermatologists on IG for general aging skin care maintenance); I definitely will be making a visit if future skin issues arrive!

The picture shows before and after 3 months (out of 6 months for the whole process) of braces Imie uses to straighten the nail. I will update after the completed 6 month cycle! My nails have NEVER been this long, I've never gone this long without pain, I've never felt this comfortable wearing sandals before.
