I came in for a gel manicure and while it was cheap, it was not what I expected. I called in advance and was told they don't take reservations. When I arrived I waited about 15 minutes to be sat. Well, I used to go here for a pedicure once every few weeks and it was fine. Today I feel like I got screwed. Had my normal service but she was using this weird light thing on my toes, that I was having white polish applied. When I was done, she said $70. I usually pay $55. She said it was "gel" polish, which I didn't ask for. She said the polish she removed was "gel" it was not. She said she tried to remove with polish and it wouldn't come off. First-Timer here! I've been getting my nails done for YEARS! They are not super long as I'm very active, but at the moment I have the almond pointy look. That design is $20 extra on top of the $60 then she said it was extra for the shape of my nail. My thought why are you happy about that? Well about 10 mins before we were done, another lady showed up for her appointment with her... Ahhhh yes, that is why she didn't want to do my design!! Moral of the story, I walked away for the first time completely unhappy, with no design. She made a quick $60 without much effort. The shape of my nail wasn't even nice. At least that would have "kinda" made up for all of the pushback. I would not return, the guy who greeted us was nice, but that all I can say about perks! My bestie ended up paying for a $100 pedi. RUSHED AND BAD TECHNICS I went here today to get basic white dip powder on my real nails. I have been here many times before and even when they had a smaller shop. I liked Emily so I requested as i have done before and she did a good job BUT NOT TODAY. When I asked for plain basic white dip powder she said they didn't have it but the owner was at the front and another nail tech said they did. This place is a very rushed environment and money hungry. They aren't worried about customer happiness or technique. THE MAIN PROBLEM was how she removed the dip I was getting off. She did not soak them at all and just drilled and tried to pop the dip off by scraping and stilling a cuticle tool under. Ridiculous and it hurt. I stopped her and she seemed to be annoyed. I am not one to complain but my experience with this company was just awful I went in a couple days before thanksgiving and got a full set of nails. Within 3 day 3 nail were already lifting I was out of town so I was unable to go get them fix. By them lifting the started to rip my real nails really bad. I had to go buy super glue to hold them down because it was so painful and I was unable to get them off myself. As soon as I was back in town I went to get my nails fixed. They almost didn't do it because of how much damage was done to my real nails from acrylics lifting. after sitting there for another hour while they repaired my nails at the end they tried to charge me. I had no problem with tipping but I don't feel that is fair that I have to repay for poor quality!!!! I've been getting my nails done for over 16 years never in my life has a nail lifted after 3 days not only one but 3 nails!!!!!! That is poor quality! They argued with me and embarrassed me in front of everyone like I was lying they asked me what the name was of the tech this was only my 3rd time there and i paid in cash so I didn't have her name on my venmo. I go here a lot. I usually am happy with the result. This last time was kind of an unfortunate experience that will deter me from going again. I walked in for an appt and sat down with one person before moving on to another person that didn't ask me any questions about what I wanted. If she had let me clarify that I didn't need that much length, my appt probably wouldn't have needed to take 90 mins for a fill. She made the square very wide on the sides coming out, the pictures are taken after I filed down the sides myself. A week later, the nails started falling off. When I went back to get one finger fixed, she made me feel bad about not wanting to pay $50 for a whole new set and seemed like she was really annoyed to have to redo my one nail. Why have appointments if you end up waiting 25 minutes past the time they asked you to be there? Then have them spend less than 20 minutes on a removal of gel and gel mani. She barely did any cuticle removal and this was the only gel mani where they didn't ask me to wash between removal and new application. I think it's important to know that there is only a 1 week guarantee on nails. I went in for a dip manicure and about 3 days after my hair started to catch on one of my nails and 9 days later they were all peeling up at the base and chipping near the ends. If I knew about the 1 week guarantee I would have went in right away, but have never had a place guarantee less than 2 weeks. I paid $50 not including tip and expected better. Then I wanted the full pedicure with scraping and all. Extra $5. Strike two. After picking some polish out, they constantly pushed me to do the gel polish. I will never do the gel polish and ruin my nails. I understand it sucks to get off and need to go back into them to remove it or have them fill it in for more money. Strike 3. Lastly, the nagging didn't stop about needing to do my eyebrows, manicure with gel polish and designs... Aside from all the nagging, if you can be assertive, you will get what you need for a reasonable fee. I also enjoyed the chair massage, foot massage and free drink. They offered a lot of pop options, water or tea. $40 later, my toes looked pretty for my date! I would recommend this place for large groups as well. The guy did REALLY good on my nails. But the girl who did my toes seemed high! She kept painting and taking them off 3 times! I had an appointment and I was waiting over 30 mins. She took an hour on my toes and most of it was as due to painting! 2 days after I was done 3 of my toe nails broke with the gel. I came back and they said they had no time to fix 3 toenails. They tried tell me come back another day but no I paid GOOD money and I need my toes fixed! Then they said fine go wait in your car and didn't even give me a time. And started speaking other language and had the whole nail shop thinking I'm crazy. So don't waste your money they love to get you in for a new set or new toes but won't finish the job once they mess up. read more

I've been coming to Golden nails for over three years now. I've come in for a fill multiple times and each time I've had my nails done without needing to take off my original nails for a fresh new set. Today on February 25th 2022 I came in for a fill and the nail technician began ripping off my nails using an acrylic tip without filing them down or soaking them in acetone it was extremely painful and she could tell that I was extremely uncomfortable but she kept going. Ripping of nail enhancements without properly soaking them is very damaging to my nail bed. She also glued the tips on with my nails all jagged and ripped up didn't even cut them down. Then I got a whole new nail technician. After my service was done, I was told it's 75$ and when I asked why a fill with no design , no special shape just green tips is 75$ because I've gotten way more detailed designs and paid 75$ which is understandable. I was told it's 75$ because they had to remove my tips ( wasn't told why they had to or even told they were going to have to remove them) because I've been getting fills at golden nails and never had my nails taken off they just did a normal fill. I'm not angry with the price because I still tipped but very disappointed with the service and lack of communication with me so I was aware of the situation. As a nail tech making sure you are not to rough with someone's natural nail is very important and being gentle because it's very painful to have acrylics ripped off in that manner without any consideration for my nail bed or comfort! Especially when you can see as a nail tech that your customer is pulling their hand back and verbally saying ouch multiple times. And when I said this is really painful and damaging my nail bed why can't we soak them she kept ripping them off saying I'm almost done. read more

The only words that were said to me the entire time I was here for my Manicure were "pick a color" before we started, "do you want to pay now" midway through, and then "don't touch anything" while the nail tech walked me to the hand driers. On top of that, my manicure is AWFUL. my cuticles are rough, my nail tips are uneven, and there is polish all over my skin but some of my nail is missing color! How does that even happen? I really want to like this nail salon but it is simply not worth it. I have come here before with a very mediocre experience and wanted to give it one more try. I came in and they were able to get me in right away which was very nice. Once I picked my color the entire experience was ruined because I did not pick a long lasting brand or gel option that was up to their standard (I picked opi). The option to change and spend more money came up at least 8 times before I left, which I opted out every time. She quickly rushed through trimming my nails and I felt the job was poor so I asked if she could even out my nails. With this she snarked and completely cut of my nails with trimmers and filed them down till there really was no nail left. Then came time for the lotion and she quickly put lotion on my hands but didn't rub the lotion in. Then asked my to rinse my hands off. This is weird, usually places would message and rub your hands/arms a bit more. Once I came back from rinsing off the lotion she demanded my card, which usually I'm fine with but I didn't want to tip with out seeing them finished. But she demanded or wouldn't continue. Finally she put on the nail polish and showed me to the corner where I was to dry my nails. In all for my manicure I spent $25 and was only in the salon for 20 minutes. I don't think they care about their customers and are just trying to make their money. In no way was my experience worth the $25. I also got home to realize there was nail polish left all over my fingers that she forgot to wipe off and my nails were not all filed evenly. Just a poor job. read more
