This is the second time I bring my dog here, not impressed with the haircut at all, and this time he came back with gray spots throughout his white fur!!!!! I brought his shampoo bc he has allergies issues but this seems like they used shampoo for black dogs or dirty water with some black tint on it. If you want your dog to be groomed in here you most be very patient and don't care that your dog is on a cage for long time no potty breaks neither water. never coming back! Michelle read more

They have such great service here! I've been taking my dog here for a while now and she loves it here! I've been to other groomers and my dog seemed to always come back with some sort of rash or irritation from the products they would use. However, the first time I took her here, she didn't come back with any irritation or rash of any kind and they took such great care of her! She's always excited when she comes and happy when she leaves. I'm really satisfied with the service here and the employees are super nice and sweet here. Definitely recommend this place!! read more

We were told my dog (80lbs) will be ready around 3pm and priced around $85 dollars when we dropped him off at 730am and it ended up finishing at 5pm and $160. They also could not tell me why the price is almost double up than what I was originally told. No break down pricing, and they just give you a price. When I arrived there, the front desk girl was assisting another customer and told me she will be right with me, but after she finished, she literally asked the lady came after me if she is picking up her dog "Cupcake". It is a very very small front desk and the girl ignore that fact that I came first and I had to tell her "I was there first." Also, my dog came back with razor burns on both his ears that makes him keep shaking his head and super uncomfortable and I had to visit my vet for that. Terrible service. read more

This place is the worst!!! Do not take your four-legged friends here. INHUMANE treatment. They kept my dog locked up in a tiny cage for 8 hours with no water or bathroom breaks before they finally groomed her. Please for the love of God do not subject your precious pets to this torture! UPDATED 2/14/20 to include my response to the owner's reply below: Dirk, The appointment was under my dad's name, not mine. I will not be calling you to discuss as I have vowed not to give your company any more of my time or business due to the way my dog and I were treated that day. Thanks anyways for the offer. Actually, when I picked my dog up that day I asked one of your employees if they give the dogs water and bathroom breaks, as my dog was panting uncontrollably and was so parched (thank god my dad had warned me in advance to bring water for her!). Your employee straight up told me your salon does not do either of those things, so please don't try to control this narrative and rewrite my experience when you were not present during this conversation. If you actually think your employees are in fact giving them water and taking them to use the bathroom, you ought to supervise them more closely because that is not the case. My appointment took place at YOUR location - the one located on Weslayan across from Whole Foods, but I appreciate your efforts to dodge responsibility and act like these events transpired at a different salon. I wanted to love this place because of its proximity to my home, and I prefer to support small businesses. I accepted their apology the first time my dogs nail bed was bleeding after a grooming. The 2nd time this happened they blamed the dog. Any dog owner would prefer their dogs nails NOT be cut at all, if they are having difficulty. Unfortunately I will not go back, and risk putting our dogs through any unnecessary pain. read more

I really want to like this place because it's so close to home and very affordable and they do an amazing job. I have taken my dog here twice. I always try to give places another try after a mess up. But both times I have taken him he has had irritation with his eye shortly after picking him up. This has never happened with any other groomer. I've been to about 5 others. His haircut was great both times. But unfortunately, I won't be back due to this. read more

We unfortunately had a bad experience with Golden Paws after many years of being their customer. My wife was called shortly after dropping off our Golden Retriever with the staff claiming there was a "hot spot" behind her ear. We took our dog to our vet who found a scissor cut and sutured the laceration. What is really incredible is that the owner refused to call us back at all since this incident!! Love to bring my chihuahua here. We have a rescue chihuahua who is very timid. Does not open up to others easily. When we began looking for a grooming place we picked and tried out lots. When we found Golden Paws we knew we found the spot. Nancy was amazing. Very gentle and took extra care of our fur baby. We tired another place for a while but came back to Golden Paws because of Nancy and how great she is with our little rescue chihuahua. We are very particular who we intrust with our fur baby and many places just did not give that good vibe. But this place did. Ps: ask for Nancy!!! read more

Have 2 Westies and one Schnauzer. They cut them exactly as I request every time. It's clean and dogs look great. Would recommend. Had been using Petsmart but like boarding or grooming at Petsmart; it is an ordeal time wise. Takes 30 minutes to get in and almost that to get out. Not good! and my Westies didn't look like Westies anymore! I recommend Golden Paws for a good clip. read more

I have been a customer at Golden Paws for many years. Unfortunately, I haven't been in a while because of school and financial reasons. The last groom my dog Gravy got was this past July. I have had to bath her myself lately because I've been so busy taking eight classes and studying and working. I miss them! I had two dogs, one passed away in January of 2015. My two dogs names were Biscuit and Gravy. When Biscuit was ill they still took the time to bath him. Knowing he had a heart murmur they were nice enough to have him in a separate room instead of with the other dogs to keep him calm before his bath. Even after Biscuit passed away they were extra nice to Gravy because I explained how she wasn't eating for two weeks. I wouldn't take Gravy to anyone else but Golden Paws. The folks here are very nice. I started taking Gravy here in 2010, when things calm down with school, I will definitely go back. read more

Absolutely amazing! I heard about this place from my sister. I live in Austin and was visiting my her on Thanksgiving holiday. My baby boy Mr. Bentley couldn't get in to his regular groomer back home so I'd asked my sister to see if he can get in at her groomer. She got him in, texted him a picture of how I want him to be groomed. When I brought him in n saw that they had the kennels up front where we can see them instead of somewhere in the back where we can't see if they're ok. The kennels appeared to be very clean and plenty of room to move around. The reception took Mr Bentley n was very gentle with him. When I picked him up, he was in one of those kennel with plenty of room to move around. He looked exactly how he looked in the picture that I showed them...IT WAS PERFECT!!! I would highly recommend this place just solely from this wonderful experience. Mr Bentley is sold on this place and will make the 3 hr drive cause it's worth it!!! Thanks Golden Paws!!!! read more

Any school associated with anything Golden Paws is a complete joke. The curriculum created by Mitzi Parrish is the most embarrassing joke of a program. Most of her schools call her grooming books paper weights. With stick figure drawings and dvds that look straight out of the 80s. Don't ever waste your time or money on any Golden Paws school. I have been a Golden Paws customer for over 15 years, but no longer. The last two trips for my 11 year old dog reveal a business in the state of either decline or disregard. I took my dog there because he has horrible tear stains. They did an ok job getting them out but I was disgruntled at how they handled my dog. First, they refused to let me get past the front desk in the lobby. All I could hear were unhappy dogs whining and barking. When my poor little guy came back, he was shaking and trembling to no avail. I went back there one time after that (as they were the only ones who could again remove the tear stains to fit my schedule) but as soon as we pulled up and walked inside, he began trembling and shaking. They obviously did something he didn't like. Additionally, when I called the first time to get through, I had to leave a vmail message and no one ever bothered to return my call. Customer service is low and I am not sure how exactly they handle the animals. Additionally, pricing varies based on the breed of dog you have (ie if you have a maltese or high-end breed, they jack you on the price and over-charge, thinking you have lots of money whereas if you have a mut, it's much cheaper). This is irrespective of how large the dog is. read more

When I talked to my cousin, I learned they had cut her dog's ear years ago. I called them back and asked for my money back. I am still waiting for the owner to call me back and it has been two weeks! I called on a Tuesday to make an appointment for my Yorkie-poo to get groomed. I asked if they walked the dogs while they had them or if they were locked in a cage the entire time. The lady I was speaking with said they usually don't walk them then told me she she would walk my dog if requested. I specifically told her I will only make the appointment if my dog is walked, which she agreed would happen. I dropped my dog off Thursday morning at 8 am and specifically told them I do not want his ears long or his tail long. Around noon I called to see if he was almost ready to be picked up, thinking I could do so on my lunch hour. I was told he was not going to be ready until around 2 pm. Around 1:30 pm I called to see if he had been walked....I was informed he had not been walked but was ready to be picked up! When I picked my dog up his ears were long and so was his tail.
