Let's start with the best thing this box has going for it and work down…read more PROGRAMING: KOA does an outstanding job here. They program in cycles, each cycle focusing on either strength, gymnastics, olympic lifts, or conditioning... Hell there are even a powerlifting and CF competitors programs for members who compete in such events. You can always expect a metcon as part of your wod though, but depending on the cycle KOA is in, the work before the metcon will vary. This has allowed KOA to produce strong, conditioned athletes. COACHING: KOA's coaches know their stuff! You only need to watch a member move to see how obvious this is. Great coaching produces great movers. Additionally, each coach takes the time to prepare your body for the wod ahead with specific mobility drills and or warm-ups. FACILITY: by far one of the better equipped boxes in the area. They have everything from lifting platforms, to lifting blocks, axle bars, oly bars, rowers, assault airbikes, ghd's, sleds, rigs, rings, ropes, dumbbells, kbs, slam balls, medballs, and much much more. KOA also occupies a storefront and it's storage warehouse, so there is plenty of square footage. CLASSES: You want classes, KOA has got classes! As I mentioned earlier KOA occupies a storefront and its warehouse which are connected but separated enough that KOA is able to run 2 classes at the same time. What this means is that from 5:15pm to 8:15pm (there are early morning and mid day classes as well) KOA starts a class every 45 minutes, one in the front and another in the back. KOA also offers a gymnastics and competitors programs free of charge to members. There's also an oly club that participates in competitions (also open to members but requires a lifting singlet to join). COMMUNITY: KOA has a lot of members, because of this it is impossible to have that small box feel where everyone knows one another. However, KOA is not without a strong sense of community. Members throw parties and invite everyone, KOA has plenty of in-box events, and they are very active in supporting the CF community by participating and or hosting friendly box vs box throwdowns and charity events. In the end I recommend you drop in at several of the few surrounding boxes so you can make an informed decision about which box is best for you. But I do feel that KOA offers the best package in the area. As for addressing the comments below, I've been a member of KOA for over 6 months now and I can tell you with 100% confidence that the negative reviews this place has received on yelp don't hold up. I've never been pushed any products, although a few of the athletes do use the same brand, but they do so because they feel it works for them and I've never seen them push it to other members. Like Miguel said, nothing but positive life changing experiences here. And yes, Miguel did leave, but he did so to become a coach at ECC.

Aside from being an amazing place to reach new heights physically, KOA's best quality is that is…read morestrives to create a positive atmosphere for all of its members. There are no egos, and everyone (coaches and fellow athletes included) are as happy for you as they are for themselves. There is a special bond that forms from doing workouts together, that I wouldn't of ever thought was possible. Whether you're a former athlete trying to get back into it, an elite athlete trying to reach the next level, a casual gym goer, or an athletic novice like I was, this is the place for you. Koa will push you to be the best you can, and this is not only physically. They teach you to be mentally tough and to keep striving to improve. There is a mental toughness, determination, and aggression that you need to be able to lift a bar over your head. I found myself unknowingly taking the same confidence into other every day things in my life. You learn that things you never thought were possible, are very possible if you put a plan together and execute it. When I started, I could barely lift the bar over my head, couldn't do a pullup, and was out of breath doing burpees within seconds. However, the community never let me feel down, and kept encouraging me. It would of been very easy to stop, but KOA has an atmosphere where you want to keep getting better, even when you are struggling... I really felt awful physically, but emotionally the support I got far outweighed it.. This pushed me, and others to keep going. I stayed with it, and It's amazing how 3 years later to see how far I've come. I've gone from not even knowing how to squat to squatting nearly 400lbs. I couldn't do a pullup, but now can grab the rings and pull off some muscle ups... Somehow I can even throw up over 150% of my bodyweight over my head... The program just works! If there is a negative, it's that this place has somehow created a magic atmosphere and unbelievable positive energy that makes you think you can do anything if you put a plan together and execute it.. The  confidence I gained from KOA made me believe that I could run the NYC Marathon, and a 70.3 Ironman Race... And somehow I did them both... If not for everything KOA has taught me, then I don't think any of these would of even been thoughts in my wildest dreams... The constant motivation to get better never ends no matter where you are... Right now,  I'm  signed up for a 140.6 Mile Ironman Race in July, and because of KOA I'm crazy enough to know I can do it... Join, and never look back!

I had to move due to work and I have a very hard time finding a gym that would come even close to what Isabella Fitness has to offer. Isabella provides and amazing Foundations class that would teach you about all different Crossfit movements. I found it very important and absolutely beneficial as a first time crossfiter. They have a very personal approach to every athlete and make you feel comfortable during every workout. Before you even start CrossFit classes they will figure out your appropriate weight for every exercise and give you extra guidance during class for at least first 3 months until you feel prepared to be on your own. Plus, they keep a track of your weights for as long as you are a member (not many gyms do that). In addition, their programming is amazing. They include a variety of exercises that can be scaled down but you will feel every time that you got an awesome workout. If you want to have a CrossFit experience of your life - go to Isabella fitness. I truly wish I could come back to north Jersey to be back at that gym! In my search of a new gym I found out that it very hard to find a good CrossFit gym! Isabella fitness set a bar soooo high that I have a hard time finding a decent gym that would match at least 10-20% of what Isabella has to offer. And I went thru 4-5 gyms at this point! If you ever hesitate about joining a CrossFit gym, go to Isabella and you will never look back! And you cannot put a price tag on everything that you learn from these amazing people! Do not wait another day- just go and check out for yourself. My review cannot explain how thankful I am for going to Isabella as my first CrossFit gym. They changed my life forever!

When I arrived the coach greeted my girlfriend and I and She was super welcoming and explained how everything worked with their particular gym. The class was a good size and the gym and equipment easily accommodated. The WOD was solid and feedback from the coach was great the whole time. I really enjoyed my time there. As we left, I got a chance to meet the owner who was super cool as well. I will absolutely be coming back next time I'm in town. Great box.

I have tried different things throughout the years in a futile attempt to find "THE THING" that was going to make me want to exercise. Well, everything except zumba, because I just couldn't get down like that. On Tuesday, my sister texted me that she bought a Groupon for Ride+Reflect, and asked if I wanted to go. Then we could go for sushi after. I said yes almost entirely for the sushi, and thought of 50 different ways I could feign illness or injury to get out of the first part of the night. Cut to this very moment. It's Thursday night, and not only did I make it through the Wednesday night class, I WENT BACK AGAIN TONIGHT. You read that correctly: I participated a vigorous physical activity for a prolonged period of time two calendar days in a row. UNHEARD OF. This place is rad. The people are so nice, and NOT what I expected them to be. They are welcoming, chill, not intimidating and genuinely seem happy you're there. They don't make you feel like an idiot, even if you are one. The cycling room itself is set up in tiers, so everyone is a little bit staggered and can see the instructor, who is illuminated by a heavenly spotlight in the front center of the room. There is a mirror, but the lights are dim so you don't have to stare at your purple, sweaty face the whole time. I don't know that I could do what I did in a fully lit room, to be honest. It's all about the music and the instructor, really. And both nights were superb on both counts. It was the first time in my very spotty athletic history that I actually gave 100%, not because I felt like someone was watching or forcing me to, but because I WAS MOTIVATED TO! However, you can take the entire thing at your own pace. When I felt like I was going to puke, I just toned it down for a few minutes and then challenged myself again. I have one more class left on my Groupon, and then I'm going to have to figure out a way to get back here regularly -- even if it means saying goodbye to a kidney. Just kidding. Joking aside, thank you, Ride+Reflect, for opening my eyes to a form of exercise that I don't have to pretend to like and suffer through. Truly, thank you.

They offer a good variety of protein drinks and sugary snacks to power through serious workouts. It is a "powerlifting" gym, but honestly anyone could get a great workout with the types of equipment they have, which is a great variety of dumbbells, bars, row, lat pull downs, seated row, hammer strength, chest flys, kettlebells, cables, bags, ropes and a sled. (I might be forgetting some stuff). If you ever get frustrated because you can't squat or bench due to crowds, THEN THIS IS THE GYM FOR YOU. They have like a million bench press stations, deadlift and squats. Which is honestly the best part. The atmosphere is really kind and yet serious. The culture seems to attract strength goal lifters and not tic toc queens, high school phone scrollers, attention seekers etc. Everyone is also very helpful and I don't get any judgment vibes. The mix is also 40/60 women/men. Yes I'm observant. My goals change from size, to strength to cut to performance based on the time of year and this gym works for all of them. Kudos to the owners for putting together a great place.

I have been eyeing this gym on Instagram for quite some time but I haven't gone until today out of fear of not fitting in. First of all, I was welcomed and a lot of the members introduced themselves which I thought was really dope. I'm really spanking brand new to lifting and so the owner, Michael gave me a ton of pointers that helped me PR. ALSO, with every lift you have an army of folks cheering you on which is always an added plus. I haven't joined quite yet but if you're considering doing so definitely go for it! You won't regret it.
