I paid the original bill for the work. Then after discussing the job with another plumber he indicated that their work does not meet code. I called and they indicated they would send someone out to fix it, which they did. And then they sent me an additional bill for fixing their substandard work, charging me labor and materials. I complained and they took off the labor, but still charged materials. Stay away from Harbor Plumbing, they used to be a good company, but you can bet I am not using them for the rest of my plumbing needs.

Clearing a sluggish (not fully clogged) kitchen sink drain cost over $500. Could another plumber have done it cheaper? Probably. But CPI was there, had the equipment, and that saved me having to shop around and hassle with scheduling. Could I have bought the powered snake at Home Depot and done it myself? Sure, for $200 or more, but there's no Home Depot (or Lowe's) nearby and I would have used the powered snake probably once every 10 years and had the hassle of learning how to use it and then finding space to store it. Could I just have used the manual snake I already had? Yes, but not as effective and could have damaged some of the piping. So ... cost over $500 but they were right there with good equipment and saved me hassle. Importantly, the plumber was fantastic. Invited me to shadow him. Answered lots of questions -- I learned a lot. He also tweaked a few things that didn't end up on the bill. Showed me some tips and tricks for the future. Again, A+ on quality and customer service. Pricing was the only concern, and that's set by the company, not the workers. Also, they found one major problem that had caused water damage. But after stopping that leak, they referred us to a company that gave a high bid to dry the damage -- a bid that was around $2K more than a competitor company. So I'd give 5 stars / A+ for communication, customer service, professionalism, quality of work, great staff and plumbing technicians, helpfulness, etc. But 2 or 3 stars for price competitiveness. So 4 stars overall. They do offer membership discounts and other things -- but a discount on a high priced service can still be high. Nevertheless, their work was top quality and the customer service was great. Sometimes it's worth it to pay premium prices for that peace of mind. My general advice: If it's not an emergency, get at least two quotes. And before any plumbers arrive, research reasonable charges for things like snaking a drain, replacing appliances, etc. Then be clear in your own mind on how you want to balance cost, company reputation, quality of work, Yelp reviews, you name it. Will I go through CPI again? Sure. Good company and you get what you pay for.

There were no updates, no follow-up, and no accountability. By October 2025 after months of silence, we cancelled the service and requested a refund. It is now December 2025, and despite repeated calls and constant reassurances that the refund is "being processed," nothing has been returned to us. At this point, their lack of communication, failure to honor the agreement, and ongoing delays have left us no choice but to involve legal counsel to recover the money we are owed. While their "contract" states 30% nonrefundable, I cannot accept that their failure to perform, bad faith, unjust enrichment, and potential breach of contract would be an excuse to have them keep the money that's rightfully ours. This experience has shown a clear disregard for customers, and we would strongly caution others before working with this company.
