Needed a local plumber and found Jet Plumbing online where own's profile highlighted his military service and accomplishments. Having, myself, retired from the Army, I called Jet Plumbing, and after explaining my plumbing requirement the owner informed me that required a $100 payment for "travel", in addition to any part and labor to perform the job. Since I live less than 20 minutes from his Port Townsend location I felt that his $100 "travel" charge was unreasonable, and therefore declined his services. read more

I was at first very impressed with Albert calling me back on Saturday night. He said he could fix the gushing tub faucet on Monday first thing, and I replied that I would move my work schedule that day to accommodate him. Then he texted me at 6:30 on Sunday morning, and then arrived before I was awake. He did not call, which would have wakened me. His text reply to my apologetic calls and texts was snotty, saying I was trying to "jump in line." The fact is I would have been up at 4 am on Sunday if that is when he had said he would be there. He told me to expect him *Monday,* and now refuses to come, and blames me for his mistake. read more

Trying to find a plumber this time of year? Most businesses were booked out past the end of the month or charging $300 an hour for emergency services and no one was listening to my distress. I had a plugged garbage disposal which had disconnected itself from the system and backed up into the bathroom on the weekend of moving into my new house. Al called me on Monday and was there Tuesday morning. He immediately took charge, rerouting my plumbing under the sink which had been done improperly, unclogged everything and added small, minor but essential pieces and repairs while explaining everything he was doing and why. He didn't stop there. He checked the whole system including the hot water heater and washer/dryer and talked to me about winterizing my home. Someone was looking out for me and it was Al at Jet Plumbing a very honest and reasonably priced man. I did not know they made people like him anymore. If I could give this gentleman a hundred stars I would! He fixed a DIY disaster under my kitchen sink. What started with a leaking faucet ended with PVC hot water line so old and brittle it snapped and the entire hot water tank was emptied onto my floor before I could get to the heater and turn off the water supply. I call Jet P&H and left a brief message, Albert returned my call within a few minutes, made sure I had turned off the water & heat to the tank and set up an appointment for the next morning. Later he called back and said he had to pick up supplies at Home Depot and offered to bring a faucet with him in case he couldn't fix mine. I was so happy about this as the faucet was beyond repair and I hated the only suitable replacement I could find in town. Through pictures he sent me I was able to pick one I liked and he brought it with him! How's that for service? Albert quickly explained what he was going to do and got to work. He installed new pipe and fittings under the sink and all went well until the old soap dispenser would not come out! The thing was solid metal and firmly rusted. After seeing him wrestling with it for a while I said it was okay to leave it but the new gear came with a soap dispenser and Albert was determined. So, after trying everything else he had to saw through it... from above, as there was no room underneath! The entire time he was super careful not to damage the sink. So an estimated job of two hours turned into three BUT Albert did not charge me for the hour it took to saw or the two blades he wore out! All is well now. Faucet and soap dispenser look and work great. To cap it all off, when he went to turn on the water to the water heater he noticed a ground wire that wasn't properly attached, grabbed a tool and fixed it! He gave me sound advice on a lot of things that need to be taken care of and he will be the one I call when I am ready to do some improvements. read more
