Pies, baklava and cheesecake were extraordinary. Area restaurants boast their pies and we had to stop. Very happy.

I love going to this bakery!! Everyone has always been very friendly, I've never had an issue with paying - either cash or card, and I'm pretty much addicted to the Coffee Cake and the bread. I also really love the brand of tea they sell there. I've been there for baked goods - Carrot Cake, the Chocolate Oat Cookies, the Coffee Cake, Flourless Chocolate Cake, Cheesecake - and I've loved them all. I don't even usually like Flourless Chocolate Cakes. The artisanal breads are so amazing, not just to look at, but to eat. I've also been there for lunch, meatball sub, and it was really delicious. I moved to Laramie from Houston, TX and this bakery blows Houston out of the water. I've been to much more expensive and "fancy" bakeries in Houston and didn't like it half as much as the Golden Prairie. It's addicting though, so be careful! read more

My wife came here with a friend. She said the food was pretty good and the girl working the register was friendly and helpful. The baker(owner?), however, was off-putting. My wife tried use a credit card that didn't work there. The machine was having issues. The card worked right before they went to the Golden Prairie and has worked without problems since. But the baker tried to tell my wife that the card was denied and that it was my wife's fault. She then went on to rant that it happens often and is always the customer's fault and that it is never her fault and their machine works just fine. After living in Wyoming for the last four years, we learned very quickly that sometimes a strong wind will cause the credit card machines to go offline and that it is something that just happens. But for that lady to be openly hostile about it being the customer's issue and nothing else despite even admitting it happens often, is just bad business practice. It really tainted the experience for my wife. After talking to the friend that went with my wife, I found out that the lady was actually extremely rude towards my wife. She said she would not go back because the "the baker was a bitch to Darci the whole time". This experience will keep us from returning. read more

True artisanal baking on the prairie! They have an excellent selection of sourdough and savory breads. They also have a great selection of pastries, including scones, cakes, cookies, and bars. The staff is also welcoming and conversational as you shop and watch the goodies being created. read more

The Golden Prairie Bakery is the best thing to come to the Laramie area in a long time. Everything I have tried has exceeded my expectations and is far better than anything to offer in this area or even anywhere close to Laramie. The customer service is amazing as are all of my favorites: the cheesecake, the quiche, and any of the breads. The owner and staff go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. A Hidden gem. DO NOT MISS THIS BAKERY! These days it is hard to find "scratch" bakeries but this is a gem. A little out of town on Snowy Butte Rd you will see the sign on the right - the building is sitting way off the road in a cattle field so if the gate is closed you are more than welcome - just close the gate behind you so the cows stay in the field. (Hey - it's Wyoming). Very small operation just yet - the owner and a helper. She makes everything by hand and everything is wonderful. Even offers daily lunch sandwich specials. Delicious sourdough bread and lemon bar. Clearly this bakery knows what they are doing. The owner is a wonderful, friendly woman. She cares about her business, her craft and her customers. We've had nothing but delightful visits to Golden Prairie since it opened. The baked goods are as good as it gets and watching the baking going on is a bonus. The owner has a great sense of humor, knows her business well, and does the difficult task of baking while often also serving customers. What a great addition to the prairie between Laramie and Centennial. It's also in a perfect location for a before- or after- airport drop off or flight. read more
