We were looking for a local non-chain lunch option in Laramie on a road trip, and 2nd Street Deli was a huge hit! My husband had the turkey basil cheddar sandwich on homemade bread, and I had the very generously portioned Bombay spinach salad. They were excellent, the service was prompt and attentive with a smile, and we said, afterward, that we would make a point to come here every time we go through Laramie, which is usually two or three times a year. However, another element of our experience set this establishment even higher in our estimation. Following our lunch stop, we were about 3 hours and 150 miles north of Laramie when I discovered I was missing my purse. I remembered I had slung it over the back of my chair at the deli, thinking, "Don't forget this!" and I DID. It had my wallet, driver's license, credit cards, cash and passport inside, and we were on a road trip from CO to WA, where I would be for a month. Couldn't exactly come back to get it too easily. I called, and one of the staff confirmed they had found my purse, and it looked to be intact. Well, long story short, they sent it to my destination in Seattle, Priority Express Mail, and they wouldn't even let me pay for the costly postage, let alone give a gratuity to the person who so kindly took time to box and send it from the post office. I was just floored by this above-and-beyond service -- not to mention the relief I felt, knowing that all my important financial means were in that purse, for nearly a month's worth of traveling. Thank from the bottom of my heart to this wonderful team. I am so incredibly grateful to this kind and caring staff, and I recommend their food very highly, too! Be sure to stop here in Laramie. The chicken club (sub ham) was great. I would highly recommend the jalapeño bread it was great. If you're in town and in the mood for a sandwich it is worth a stop. Only criticism is the coleslaw was all vinegar and cabbage. But I'm not from Wyoming so it might be a regional thing. read more

Visited Laramie, Wyoming recently and 2nd Street Deli was a food highlight of the trip forsure! Nice staff, great selection of sandos/salads/macs/sides/drinks as well. I ordered the tomato basil cheddar sandwich with bacon with a side of the pesto pasta salad and wow, phenomenal! My partner enjoyed her sandwich as well and got a side of broccoli which was also delicious. My new go to spot anytime im in Laramie. The food was so fresh and really delicious. One of the best Rubens I've had and the bread is toasted to perfection. I also loved the pairings they had and the use of seasonal ingredients. The menus are big and offer a selection of options. Vegan and vegetarian as well. They also update the soups of the day which I appreciated. We were greeted by a warm welcome and friendly service. Everyone was kind and checked in on us even though it wasn't table service. Tons of parking around the area and easy to access as everything's on the ground floor. The layout was very spacious with enough room between each table. Excellent food! This wasn't the first on my list to try while in town but it didn't have a line out the door and I was starving so I have it a try and wasn't disappointed one bit. Grilled chicken club and a side salad. Sandwhich was packed with flavor - perfectly done bacon, avocado that's ripe but not mushy, and the basil mayo is excellent addition! I'm always hesitant about a club bc the toasted bread irritates the roof of my mouth but this one didn't - toasted lightly! Perfect! I would stop again when I'm in town! Give it a try! Food was amazing. I had the vegan Mac, two others had the cheddar Mac and one has the Rueben. The vegan Mac was the best I have ever had. It's so hard to make a good vegan Mac. My son said the Reuben was also the best he had ever had. Great kid options as well for a good price. Not a large place and not great for large groups. This is the best place for a sandwich in Laramie, but it's inconsistent. Fortunately, it varies from "pretty good" to "near excellent". The cheddar, apple, bacon creation is quite good, but sometimes the apples are cut too thick and not reduced enough. The only real negative is that the kitchen help uses the back door alcove to sneak out for a smoke break. Therefore you walk through cigarette smoke if you park on 2nd Street, and you're left wondering about them handling your food after handling a cigarette. read more

Rebrand really tanked this place. The food is much worse, and way more limited. They basically cut out most of the good options. It's not even a real deli, so don't show up looking to buy some deli meats...plus now it just feels like a high school cafeteria with all that harsh lighting. Just had one of the best sandwiches I've had in years! I got the BLT on jalepeno cheddar bread, which was so soft and buttery. Everything on the sandwich tasted really fresh and high quality. I got the pesto pasta salad on the side which was also very good. The service was quick and the folks working this afternoon were very nice. It got very crowded a few minutes after I came in, and it definitely seems like this place is regularly poppin, but I can see why! While I enjoyed the BLT with house made bread, I wish it was just toasted versus griddled as the added richness was unnecessary given a BLT is typically a lighter option. Takes time to read, there are multi choices from carnivore to vegan. Interesting salad dressing choices, bread is house made, kitchen is open to see what's being made.
