Armando did such a good job restoring my black suede half boots, I brought him these 30 year old stilettos...he did his magic and restored the color, sewed close a hole...stretched to help made what was tight looser, and replaced heel tabs and glued what was peeling. These shoes 30 yrs ago cost a small fortune, so this repair was worth it to me...about 40 bucks. Also Armando called me to let me know the shoes were ready, as he promised when I first dropped them off. Also I think he turned on the air conditioning knowing I would be arriving within 15 minutes. Do not go there!! Brought some Danner boots to get resoled. Went to pick them up and he put a different kind of sole on it. It was Vibram sole but not the one that was on originally. Told him that wasn't I wanted. He said they didn't have the one that was on before. Told him he should have called me to ask if I wanted that. Argued with him and he wouldn't fix the problem. Basically saying oh well, take it or leave it. Had no choice since I paid up front for it. Even gave example if I brought in some expensive LV red bottom heels and you put some black bottoms on it, it doesn't make it the same if it is the same name brand. The sole he put on was way cheaper too. Charged me $125 for this POS work also. read more

Sam did an excellent job on the 2 purses and 1 and a half pairs of shoes we needed fixed. My boots needed the heels replaced, and he also polished them for an additional $5 and they look brand new now! The purses straps have been repaired and also look great. I used to go to a shoe repair place in El Sereno, but lately their hours of operation have been inconsistent and I haven't been able to get a hold of them via phone so I had been searching for a new place. I was disappointed in the work done on a purse repair where the strap had to be reattached. On the upside it was done quickly within a few hours but the quality of the work was lacking. I probably won't go back there. If they did such a poor job on a simple strap reattachment, I would not take a more expensive item. $25 was an overcharge for shorty work on a $75 purse! read more

I've been coming here for about 8 years now and the only reason I give 2 stars not 5 is because he is inconsistent in how he prices his work. Each time, I come to re-sole my work pumps or the heels for my boots, and usually, it's about $4-8 per pair. This time, it was $10. He does a good job but I don't like his inconsistency. This is the first time he's hiked his price up like that on me, and unfortunately, that means I need to find a different place to come to now. Everyone else- you won't be disappointed in his work, but don't expect his prices to be fair, or to be rewarded in any way for your loyalty! Go somewhere else for consistency. I support small businesses and understand the struggle-- so I know it's "just" $10 to help the business, but as a customer, I put a premium on honesty, integrity, and consistency from a store owner! read more

Did a decent job on shortening my purse strap, but quoted me $6.00 while he was looking over the purse. when my purse was done, I gave him a $10.00 bill and he gave me $2.00 change. I then told him that he had told me $6.00 but he only gave me $2.00 back. He then said, "No, you misunderstood me, I said $8.00 cause it had two sides." I said, no I heard $6.00. I always take my shoes here to get polished and change my heel and sole, Sam always does an excellent job. My shoes always look brand new.

I take all of my heels to get cut when too high and get them stretched when too tight. Sam is always nice and has a good sense of humor. He always gives me good advise to maintain my expensive shoes.
