Wife and I were excited to visit a new place to drink wine and have fun, but extremely disappointed when arriving and trying to greet people and staff then left standing with no response at all. They are very welcoming and Helen makes you feel at home and gave us a brief history on Golden Star Vineyards. It has been there since 2006 and thriving since then! The ambiance is very intimate and inconspicuous for sure. It seems like it's nothing around when your driving up, but it's quite a treat once you enter the winery. Place is Located in Littlerock Ca, near Palmdale and very cute and quaint, which makes it very personable. Today they had live music and the singer was great! She played all the cuts for sure. The Owner's Helen and Lee welcome you with hello and glad to see you when you arrive. The wines are wonderful. They have a wide range of reds and whites and champagne. The place is cozy with wine barrels, all along the walls. Frequently they have someone playing music or or a small band for entertainment. My aunt took us to this vineyard as a nice gesture and this place was outstanding. The owners Lee and Helen were very welcoming and had some great tasting of wines. The purple rain tasting was my favorite. We had five tastings and all were good. They have a Groupon also for (4) people with five tastings and a free glass with snacks. Lee and Helen are super nice people. We love that they have live music on the weekends. We've been away from their tasting room for a few years and just joined their wine club and are looking forward to reconnecting with their wines. I'll report back with more thoughts after I taste some more. They welcome bringing your own snacks, picnics, etc. I've seen sometimes they have a food truck. They have a very clean portapotty. Here's hoping guests keep it that way! I've also seen Cornhole for when the temps cool. If you have a well-behaved kiddo and bring activities to keep them busy then it's cool to have them there. We found Golden Star Vineyards on Groupon, and we took a nice little drive north to Little Rock to try it out. Located out in the desert, Golden Star Vineyards is a little haven in the middle of nowhere. We were greeted at the door by winemakers, Helen and Lee Williams. They welcomed us in and got us right to tasting. We brought snacks, and our Groupon included a little charcuterie board that they provided. Right after we started tasting, there was live music. The performers played oldies and we found ourselves singing along to almost every song. Helen even provided Kopi with a blanket to keep her warm on the winery floor. We took our time tasting their wines (which were all delicious and many of which have won awards in prestigious wine competitions). We got a taste of the 2019 Zinfandel and LOVED it, so naturally we bought a bottle. If you have some free time, go support Helen and Lee at Golden Star Vineyards. Their wines are great, their tasting is affordable, and you will leave smiling. The Steikers loved this place, and we are sure to go back sometime in the near future! read more
