We have been able to enjoy Sycamore Ranch on several occasions. Each person has been knowledgeable and helpful while tasting. We have done white wines, red wines, and ciders. We always leave with a bottle of something special for later. The grounds are welcoming and lovely as you sit around oak barrels with the orchards and vineyards nearby. On one occasion I was by myself and had the opportunity to do a tasting with some other folks who didn't mind my intrusion. The owner was most gracious. read more

Cute winery with relaxing outdoor atmosphere. The wine , ciders, cheese and service were excellent. They were very busy and Alicia was the only one working while we were there. Every table was full and she handled the crowd like a pro. Kudos to her !! It was our first time there and didn't have reservations. Alicia greeted us straight away and said she would be able to accommodate us and quickly cleared up a seating arrangement for us. It was getting a little chilly out and she turned on the patio heaters for us to be comfortable. We purchased four bottles of wine and the tasting fees (2) were waived. This is just a tip: For a first time experience things to know before you go. 1. check the weather - Too hot to be outside for us. 2. Ask to book inside and if they can accommodate a special occasion inside. (or be in a cozy indoor seating) we decided to really not inconvenience anyone since we didn't know about indoor seating. we did show up beautiful location even as the green is starting to turn brown. But, on a hot day at 1pm we decided to go elsewhere to celebrate our 2yr anniversary. Next time! read more

Had a wonderful visit at Sycamore Ranch. My husband and I arrived and were greeted immediately. We were escorted to our outdoor table/wine barrel which already had our name on it. My husband did the cider tasting and myself the wine tasting. The tastings are all preplanned, no picking what you want to try. My husband only liked one of the ciders he tried but it wasn't worth buying. We ended up buying 4 bottles of wine. All the wines I tasted were good. I went home with the Merlot and Cab which were my favorites! The winery itself was adorable. Lots of flowers and even a vegetable garden. It was so nice to taste and watch all the butterflies flying around. I'm genuinely looking forward to another visit really soon! read more

Sometimes, when you live in such a fun place as Palm Springs, you want to press the EJECT button and land somewhere else....even if briefly.... or momentarily.... ANYTHING to be able to get oneself OUT of oppressive 110 degree heat. Its only going to get hotter (with no relief in sight). I scanned the map as thoroughly as possible and specifically chose anything that is in the "UP DIRECTION". Beam me up Scotty...becuase I simply just want to get the "hell out of here". I stumbled upon Sycamore Ranch Vineyard & Winery in the Lake Arrowhead region in this process and although its officially mapped as Crestline, I knew I had found an answer. Upon arrival, I found the winery bustling with activity. Every seat outside and at the small bar area inside was occupied. Carefully maneuvering my car between two others, ensuring I wouldn't block anyone in... I hoped out of the car and gingerly walked toward one of the buildings that had no markings on it. Eventually I did walk to the correct area and upon looking around I could see that there were no more tables or seats left anywhere. I had hoped to secure a table outside but were informed that they were all pre-booked. More groups continued to arrive as I was trying to find a place to even sit or stand. The lone employee, managing the crowded scene, directed me to a grassy spot under the shade of gigantic pine tree near the patio area. Reluctantly, I settled onto a picnic blanket, carefully balancing a glass of wine. Although my alcohol consumption is minimal to none these days, I simply longed for an excuse to be amidst the towering pine trees of the beautiful California Mountains and relish this blissful 74-degree weather. As I reclined on the blanket and gazed at the sky, the scent of grass, the whispers of the breeze, and the warmth of the sun enveloped me. Immersed in the ambiance, I closed my eyes, allowing my thoughts to wander. Questions flooded my mind--was this where I truly wanted to be? Was I making good life choices? Where could I improve? How could I become a better person? Yet, amidst the swirling thoughts, the prevailing realization was that I felt utterly content in that very moment. The worries of the world slipped away as I embraced the serenity of my surroundings. It didn't matter where I was or what others thought. Our visit to Sycamore Ranch was very pleasant. Alicia was soo very helpful and she was so nice to talk to. She really has knowledge about the wines and our afternoon spent there was amazing. The patio and grounds are so beautiful and picture perfect backgrounds for cute fun photos while you're there. There are heaters outside that make it very comfortable. The ladies did the wine tasting while the men enjoyed the hard cider tasting and my husband said it was the best hard cider he ever tasted. We ended up buying 3 bottles of hard cider and 2 bottles of wine. We will definitely be coming back for a visit. This was a beautiful little gem we found while taking a trip into nature. I'll admit it! Me and my bf are surely becoming wine snobs. The multiple trips to multiple wine towns, the bi weekly trips to wine bars around LA, the friends with the extensive wine collections, have made us....picky. So, when I suggested Sycamore Ranch to my bf on our latest trip to Lake arrowhead, we were both a bit skeptical. "ITS THE ONLY WINE BAR IN THE AREA" we simultaneously screamed. Our initial thoughts had us concerned that it wasn't going to be very good. And boy oh boy......How wrong we were. We sat in a lake arrowhead parking lot to maybe see if they had some time to seat us (reservations are v v important) and luckily they did. Walked in around 2pm on Saturday where they had the cutest little 2 top set up. We were perfectly positioned in some lounge chairs and enjoyed the beautiful outside area. It was a great surprise to find out that they, not only, produce wine, but also cider! Honey Bunny opted for the cider while I got the traditional wine flight. EVERYTHING WAS SO DELICIOUS! So delicious, in fact that we ended up taking a few bottles home. The viogner was my personal favorite and the ciders were so refreshing! I truly loved the experience. Got a tasting for both wine and cider. We purchased the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon. Wow. Sourced from Frankel Family Vineyards and Live Oak Vineyards in Paso Robles and produced at our winery in Crestline, California, this full bodied and juicy wine opens with aromas of figs, dates, cherries, black currant, cinnamon and subtle essence of spearmint, eucalyptus, and pine forest. On the palate the aromas merge with soft baking spices of cinnamon and nutmeg, rounded out with aromatic flavors of spearmint and eucalyptus in an intriguing, layered finish. Aged in 50% new and 50% once used French Oak barrels for two years prior to bottling. 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 10% Petite Verdot Then for the cider we got the cyser. Its apples with wildflower honey aged in Hungarian oak. Its dry. Lightly carbonated. I really like sitting on the grass. The service is A plus and the ambiance is chill. My sister made the reservations for this place for my mother's birthday weekend. My job was to arrive there after they started to surprise my mom. This winery is really out there. It is not that easy to find. But it is a lovely place and their wine is great. All of us had a tasting with charceturie. We also were treated to some wines not on the tasting that we requested. I bought 5 bottles and thought this place was great. I'm not a white wine person, though I thought the whites were pretty good. But their reds are quite excellent. First time wine tasting in the woods! On weekends you would have to call in to make a reservation. Wine flight was 5 for $25. All extraordinary wine selections, highly recommend the Syrah and primittivio (not sure if I spelled this correctly). Parking is a short walk away from this winery. They had a cozy outdoor area and two adirondak chairs waiting for us. We were invited to bring our own snacks which is what we did, although they do sell some there. Discovered this gem of a hidden vineyard & winery today. The owners make both wine and hard cider since the place came with a hundred year old apple orchard when they bought it. Sycamore Ranch Vineyard and Winery is the fairly young winery from Richard and Elizabeth Krumwiede. What began as a hobby evolved into a passion and then a business. There are some grapes on the property (Zinfandel and Syrah), but most of the grapes are sourced from Paso Robles, Santa Ynez Valley and elsewhere on the Central Coast. However, all of the wine is made in Crestline. The idyllic property is a tribute to Richard's landscape architecture business and the ancient apple trees throughout the area. The small tasting room, which accommodates 4-6 people, is mountain chic. Devin, the knowledgeable wine steward, is a hoot and an absolute treasure trove of information. Each wine that we had was fantastic. I was not surprised that they were award winning wines, because I was impressed again and again. They also make ciders from the apples that they harvest throughout the area - I particularly the one aged in French oak. The entire experience was amazing. $20 to taste six wines and a cider with bottled water and a little cheese and chocolate plate is a great value. Reservations are a MUST and I recommend book far in advance. Also, Sycamore Ranch sells out of wine, so it may be unavailable at the end/beginning of the year. Richard, his apprentice, Jason, and his guide, Devin, are a great team delivering a fantastic wine tasting experience in a gorgeous setting. I cannot speaking highly enough of the wonderful wines! Myself and 5 friends reserved a spot here several days ago excited to spend an afternoon at the winery. We flew from al over the US and planned to catch up over several bottles and several hours of wine. We arrived at 115 and were seated in the grass. There were tables as well but we chose to enjoy the winery picnic style (we brought our own food after we verified this was allowed). The wine was great and the staff was friendly. We spread our food out and began the wine tasting. The wine tasting took about an hour and a half. We finished around 250. At the finish, she brought out the menus to order our own bottles. As we began looking at the menus she informed us "By the way, you all need to leave by 310 as we have another party coming in and we need to disinfect." We were the ONLY party there at this point. There was another party there when we arrived but they left maybe a half hour later. We were in the grass. I'm not sure what they were going to disinfect. Needless to say, with only 20 minutes left we didn't order a bottle to have there. We were very disappointed as we had no idea of the time constraint and would have liked to know before hand. Also, 1 hour and 55 minutes does not seem like adequate time for a wine tasting with 5 people. We ordered a few bottles to take home and realized after we left that the order wasn't correct. One of the bottles we ordered was switched out for another bottle we didn't like as well. I have no pics to show bc we had to leave so abruptly but it was beautiful grounds. read more

Love LOVE love this place. Had to wait a week to get a reservation, but soo worth it. They have moved their tastings outside in the beautiful garden. Covid protocols are being followed, but you are still able to enjoy yourself, mask free, at your table. Silly me took 3 non-drinkers with me as I just needed to get out in nature!! All 3 took small tastes to be polite and all 3 said they would drink their wine again!! New fans for life! Had the pleasure of one of the owners serving us (unbeknownst to us until we were done). Batch made sure all our production questions were answered. He gave us such an indepth history to the property and made us excited for the upcoming ecents and products.. Absolute gem of a place! My boyfriend & I were on a weekend getaway in Running Springs, and found this spot as a little afternoon trip. He's a huge wine enthusiast, and while he's always down for a good glass of red I'm more of a whites/rose girl. Everytime they brought out a new red, I loved it more than the last (we ended up taking home a few bottles!).
