As I got older I developed this passion for small cactus plants-not sure where it came from,I…read moredidn't have it when I was in my 20s or 30s or my 40s but when I hit 50-those cute little plants started speaking to me in a way to I can now call my small cactus collection at home-a passion project.People in my life kinda make fun of me about but I don't care-when I see my ever growing collection of cactus at home each morning as I walk out the front door-they make me happy inside and for sure make me smile. Well you can imagine my happiness while at a Yelp event in Oak Park I saw next door there was an amazing looking nursery-I just knew I would have to make a return visit-well when I finally had the time,we headed to The Plant Foundry located at 3500 Broadway in Oak Park. This place is so cute-I haven't been to a ton of nurseries as I've generally picked up my cactus plants at random spots like a midtown market or a Trader Joe's or as gifts from people but I will say this was one of the cuter nurseries I've been to. When we arrived I walked around a bit to check out what they had to offer-what was in season and wondering where the cactus plants were. I liked this little sign they had in the middle of their nursery which advised everyone what was in season and what should be planted at this time of year-for a newbie green thumb person like myself-information like that is very helpful. After walking around a bit I decided on the cutest little cactus to add to my collection at home and it cost me $7.99,so cheap and my daughter decided to get a snow peas plant($7.49). In closing-if you ever find yourself in the Oak Park area and want to check out the cutest little nursery-I would 100% recommend The Plant Foundry for all your gardening needs-they have a really awesome business running out there-I like em and will be back.

This nursery is on the smaller size and not as overwhelming as some of the others in the area, and all the plants we've picked up here have been happy and have been great additions to our garden. I like that we've found consistent seasonal offerings as well as have been surprised with some fun plants we haven't seen elsewhere. The store inside is also fun to browse with both garden accessories, as well as gifts, fun items, and local things that someone with an interest in gardening would also enjoy. The staff is friendly and helpful and there's even sometimes a cute and friendly cat that's wondering around to greet guests. A great spot to browse while visiting Oak Park and a great spot to pick up seasonal plants or more longterm additions to your garden.

So instead of making up for the low quality plants they threatened to close my landscaping account. Talk about a power trip and awful customer service. God knows who is right and the facts are know by him. Matsuda's evil intent is evident. I just asked them to replace $20 worth of bad plants. They went all out murderous and vindictive for it. Consider that before you do business with them.

But just recently I have been going to Matsuda's nursery for plants and material. Yes, Matsuda's is geared more for the contractors than for homeowners. And the other reviews that I've read have been harsh and almost personal. But when I did go for the first time I was treated respectfully and they where also eager please. They also have a large variety of product and I have no complaints but that may be because I don't wear my feelings on my sleeve. Just know if you do go they are geared more towards the contractor.
