I've driven past this place a number of times, but never planned out a time to shop as I'm always running errands in the area. However, I had a fast but friendly stop into Talini's right before closing time. The nursery is laid out nicely without having to figure out a labyrinth of shelves and stands, and staff were ready to help me find the right plant when I was looking in the complete wrong place. There was also walls of seeds and seed starting equipment, many of which are CA natives and at affordable prices. I can't wait to drop back in when I have more time to wander the selection of plants they carry, and shop for more plants than I could possibly have room for. Not tons of parking in their lot facing Folsom, but no issues finding a spot when I arrived.

Love this shop it's well kept and customer service is great... Good variety of plants and flowers

A wonderful and diverse nursery in the heart of East Sacramento. So many nurseries treat their stock like commodities and it feels like fast fashion that churns out low quality but colorful and eye catching items with no staying power. All the plants I've purchased here have been robust, healthy, and thriving. No small feat compared to the over fertilized, mass produced big box store plants that often die off once their force fed fertilizer existence ends. The plants here are healthy, root-strong, and dare I say loved. Delightful areas in the nursery demonstrate which plants do well in shade, sun, and partly sunny environments. You can peruse selections quietly or get valuable advice if you inquire. Everyone has always been helpful with assistance in the plant area outdoors to check-out inside. Their culinary herb collection is extraordinary. I loved to visit this nursery when I was a child visiting my grandparents on 58th St. to today. A true treasure. In addition to plants the store stocks a quality variety of accessories, pots, tools, decor, and fountains/benches/fire pits etc. You will enjoy seeing the vignettes created with artistry and skill in the nursery combing garden accoutrements and plants.

My opinion of Talini's, based on several visits spaced out over several years, is improving. I proudly come here to support local, but I haven't always encountered locals supporting me. On my last visit, at least, the experience was the most positive of them all. I know nothing about how to garden but I like to learn. The place is lovely and nestled into a sprawling lot off of busy Folsom Blvd. Even without a goal in mind, I love to wander the aisles and soak in the smells and visual beauty of the plant life. On my first visit many years ago, I dealt with a snobby employee who made me feel dumb for not knowing what I was apparently supposed to know about a home garden. On my second, I spent 20 minutes searching for help and found none. On my third, most recent visit, Talini's redeemed itself. The person I spoke with was very helpful and friendly and I ended up getting some drought tolerant plants. I felt that part of this was because I've educated myself quite a bit over the years and knew what to say and ask, but either way they were very helpful. It costs more than Home Depot to shop local, sure, but it's a conscious effort I make to support long-standing establishments such as this one.

Cute little place. Came in not liking for anything specific. Didn't end up getting anything but the prices weren't too bad.

Ask the Community - Talini's Nursery

Do they answer emails sent to them? Still haven't heard back.

No. I tried also. Months ago.

Do you have ladybugs available right now, 4/8/21?

They don't seem to care for online presence.

Is there a good selection of house plants as well?

Talinis is great. You should go and just browse. They have everything stuffed in to the smallish size store. House plants? You betcha.

Since we do…read morenot know much about landscaping, we were willing to pay a premium for professional design help and quality plant selection. Unfortunately, the experience was frustrating from start to finish. We made it clear from the beginning that we needed all materials by Sunday for our landscapers, but after spending over an hour selecting 9 trees and countless plants, we were told at checkout that delivery would take two months. Some material did arrive sooner, but not all of it. The bigger issue was the design advice itself. The Liriope we received already looked unhealthy, and we later learned it does not do well in the Sacramento Valley heat. We returned it and replaced it with boxwoods. Even more concerning, a Weeping Blue Cedar was recommended to be planted only about two feet from our home. After getting second opinions, we learned that could have caused foundation issues because of the root system. We canceled that tree as well. On top of that, 7 shrubs we ordered never arrived, and we ended up buying replacements from another local nursery. Two months later, we are still waiting on a refund for the canceled tree and the undelivered shrubs. We have gone to the store multiple times, could never reach the manager, and kept getting different answers about store credit and restocking fees. Some of the plants we received are doing well, but overall the communication, design guidance, and follow-through were poor. I would definitely recommend getting a second opinion before trusting their design plan. Based on our experience, we would not recommend Moon Valley Nurseries in Roseville.

Well you can imagine my happiness while at a Yelp event in Oak Park I saw next door there was an amazing looking nursery-I just knew I would have to make a return visit-well when I finally had the time,we headed to The Plant Foundry located at 3500 Broadway in Oak Park. This place is so cute-I haven't been to a ton of nurseries as I've generally picked up my cactus plants at random spots like a midtown market or a Trader Joe's or as gifts from people but I will say this was one of the cuter nurseries I've been to. When we arrived I walked around a bit to check out what they had to offer-what was in season and wondering where the cactus plants were. I liked this little sign they had in the middle of their nursery which advised everyone what was in season and what should be planted at this time of year-for a newbie green thumb person like myself-information like that is very helpful. After walking around a bit I decided on the cutest little cactus to add to my collection at home and it cost me $7.99,so cheap and my daughter decided to get a snow peas plant($7.49). In closing-if you ever find yourself in the Oak Park area and want to check out the cutest little nursery-I would 100% recommend The Plant Foundry for all your gardening needs-they have a really awesome business running out there-I like em and will be back.

The store inside is also fun to browse with both garden accessories, as well as gifts, fun items, and local things that someone with an interest in gardening would also enjoy. The staff is friendly and helpful and there's even sometimes a cute and friendly cat that's wondering around to greet guests. A great spot to browse while visiting Oak Park and a great spot to pick up seasonal plants or more longterm additions to your garden.
