I love this plant store! The people that work there are super helpful and knowledgeable as they obviously love their plants! They help me pick out the best dirt for what I'm doing and can help suggest plants or care for them as well. I can often find things here that are not in other stores too. My problem is that I will go in for one thing, but end up leaving with 10! Haha. It's a fun problem to have. Most of the plants are outside and wrapped along their building, but there are some more inside along with gardening tools, seeds, etc.. Because they are not a chain store, their prices are a little higher than a Home Depot or Green Acres, but everything seems to be more hand chosen and it feels good to support local. There are a couple parking spots out front, but may be a little challenging to get back onto Folsom Blvd because it's at a busy intersection. I like to park on the side street where there is plenty of parking available. read more

I've driven past this place a number of times, but never planned out a time to shop as I'm always running errands in the area. However, I had a fast but friendly stop into Talini's right before closing time. The nursery is laid out nicely without having to figure out a labyrinth of shelves and stands, and staff were ready to help me find the right plant when I was looking in the complete wrong place. There was also walls of seeds and seed starting equipment, many of which are CA natives and at affordable prices. I can't wait to drop back in when I have more time to wander the selection of plants they carry, and shop for more plants than I could possibly have room for. Not tons of parking in their lot facing Folsom, but no issues finding a spot when I arrived. read more

A wonderful and diverse nursery in the heart of East Sacramento. So many nurseries treat their stock like commodities and it feels like fast fashion that churns out low quality but colorful and eye catching items with no staying power. All the plants I've purchased here have been robust, healthy, and thriving. No small feat compared to the over fertilized, mass produced big box store plants that often die off once their force fed fertilizer existence ends. The plants here are healthy, root-strong, and dare I say loved. Delightful areas in the nursery demonstrate which plants do well in shade, sun, and partly sunny environments. You can peruse selections quietly or get valuable advice if you inquire. Everyone has always been helpful with assistance in the plant area outdoors to check-out inside. Their culinary herb collection is extraordinary. I loved to visit this nursery when I was a child visiting my grandparents on 58th St. to today. A true treasure. In addition to plants the store stocks a quality variety of accessories, pots, tools, decor, and fountains/benches/fire pits etc. You will enjoy seeing the vignettes created with artistry and skill in the nursery combing garden accoutrements and plants. read more

My bonsai tree was turning dull green and brown. Possibly dying with a chance of survival. My Bonsai tree the needles should be green to bright green. The needles on the branches were falling off. So I called Talini's Nursery on Folsom Blvd. Young lady name Leo helped me out. She tested the soil with her fingers. Asked how often I water the tree. Leo asked if she could remove tree from my pot to inspect. The The roots on bottom of tree and soil looked good. My pot looked too small for further growth, She put new bonsai soil back in to a larger pot.Gave a lot of advice and tips. Had this tree since July 27 , 2024. My dog Chubby passed July 29 few days after I bought bonsai tree. So we are hoping this tree survives. In memory of my beloved dog 16.5 years old. Thank you for giving me hope. Cross my fingers and pray it works. Thank you Leo for your patience, knowledge, giving me the time, effort and willingness to help out. Much appreciated and thank you very much. This is a cute small local nursery. Workers will let customers in to control traffic. I went in the morning on a Sunday and didn't have to wait after I rang the bell. It was pretty quiet in the morning too. I was really excited that they had the plants I was looking for. I'm so in love with my plants! I got a 6" snake plant for $25 and an 8" monstera plant for $45. They're so beautiful and healthy. There were a few plants looked like they were dying but it could be because of the summer heat. Prices are a bit more than at a big box store but I don't mind paying extra to support a local business. read more

My opinion of Talini's, based on several visits spaced out over several years, is improving. I proudly come here to support local, but I haven't always encountered locals supporting me. On my last visit, at least, the experience was the most positive of them all. I know nothing about how to garden but I like to learn. The place is lovely and nestled into a sprawling lot off of busy Folsom Blvd. Even without a goal in mind, I love to wander the aisles and soak in the smells and visual beauty of the plant life. On my first visit many years ago, I dealt with a snobby employee who made me feel dumb for not knowing what I was apparently supposed to know about a home garden. On my second, I spent 20 minutes searching for help and found none. On my third, most recent visit, Talini's redeemed itself. The person I spoke with was very helpful and friendly and I ended up getting some drought tolerant plants. I felt that part of this was because I've educated myself quite a bit over the years and knew what to say and ask, but either way they were very helpful. It costs more than Home Depot to shop local, sure, but it's a conscious effort I make to support long-standing establishments such as this one. read more

I am a big fan of this local nursery and garden center as they have wonderful items for sale. I recently came in here to check out their selection for my spring vegetable garden and was pleasantly surprised with my eight ball squash, yellow cucumber and various peppers that I purchased. I can't wait to watch them all grow this spring and summer. Chances are if you go into Talini's you will leave with something. I have often come in here just to look around but found that I just had to have something so I purchased it. The owner and employees who work at Talini's are very nice and knowledgeable. I love this little nursery. They have a decent selection of air plants and succulents for a great price. Just browsing there for 39 minutes, I came out with 2 succulents and 5 different succulents. All plants were in great condition. The air plants were a great size. All the air plants I selected were at least 5 inches. My succulents were a great size with pups. I love it! The staff are very friendly and helpful. They make you feel comfortable browsing around and taking your time. I would definitely come back here again for more air plants and succulents. Ahh...I also got a very nice indoor base. Highly recommended! read more

When I first visited Talini's, it was close to 25 years ago. My friend had bought plants from there called chocolate cosmos...which smelled like chocolate! I fell in love with this place and when I got my own home, I went to buy a rose bush for the backyard, one that has striped orange and yellow roses. And a pineapple sage! So amazing! The flavor was herby and pineapple-y at the same time. I brought my little family here to buy plants to landscape our front yard: drought tolerant, but butterly and hummingbird attractive. The advice given was fantastic, and we bought quite a few of the plants that were pointed out to us. We also bought herbs to plant. A very good haul! I love the family feel of this nursery. They are so friendly, welcoming and amazing. I would be so sad if we lost this treausre and all we had were the big commercial nurseries! read more

Such a cute little plant shop! In addition to a wide selection of plants, they have cute little garden decor trinkets and all garden supplies you may need. I was there to check out some house plants and found this beautiful calathea makoyana! All of the plants in the greenhouse were in very good shape and looked beautiful! Although it's a small indoor plant space there still is a lovely selection to choose from. The staff is also all very nice and helpful! I will definitely be visiting again. read more

Recently moved to Sacramento and been in search of fox farm soil and this spot has it! The have a few options too. There's a woman that works here that has a certain personality but all the other staff has been super nice and friendly. I've gotten into a few conversations with a couple of them about plants as well. They have had great prices on spring potted fruits and veggies and organic options as well. A wide variety of chili peppers which i don't often see. I went to green acres and they don't have any organic options nor fox farm soil. So Talini's nursery is definitely my favorite nursery around here. It's also better to support local/small business read more

I like visiting nurseries when i'm on an excursion. I was looking for California natives. They didn't have a section but Amanda pointed out an area where I might find some. I had a-lot of questions and she was very patient. I can spend hours here Its a pleasant nursery to walk through. It's full of unique garden decor n supplies to meet the needs of beginners and advanced gardeners. Another successful nursery trip. Walked out with an airplant, native fern n groundcover. 4 stars for products, 3 stars for location, 2 stars for service. I still want this place to be better. Yikes. As the saying goes, "your money's no good here," if it's a Benjamin, that is. I spent 30 minutes perusing plants and soil amendments (with minimal assistance) and got to the register only to be told they wouldn't take a $100 bill. "Fine," I thought (with smug self-importance), "I'll just take my cash to Home Depot." But after searching the garden dept.there, I ended up buying nothing but gloves. Happy Frog soil amendments or organic fertilizers for your vegetable garden? You won't find any at HD, and neither did I. So it was, with a sheepish grin and smaller bills, I slunk back into Talini's, handed over some cash and left with the goods. Bottom line: Good stuff to buy, overpriced, don't expect any tips on gardening. - Just in case, here's my previous review: "Expensive. Parking sucks. No one ever around to help you. Same pottery I've been seeing for the last 5 years. But it's convenient to East Sac-ers and it's locally owned. Just don't go in needing a lot of advice about Eureka vs Meyer lemon, what's wrong with my plant, soil amendments etc., I always find it hard to chase someone down and get real advice. They have some nice flowers you won't find at the H.Depot type nurseries, but you'll pay! This is an accumulation of 5 years and about 30 visits. " read more

I could spend hours (and a lot of money) here. Talini's is much larger than they appear from the street. Their backyard seems to dominate the block and is kind of breathtaking when you first walk in - rows and rows of plants and colors and smells, and usually even a few butterflies to complete the scene. They have everything from cacti and succulents to bonsais to herb and veggies to trees, and a great selection of each. The service is friendly and knowledgeable while still knowing how to leave you alone so you can browse. Some items like pots are more expensive than other places, but the plants themselves seem reasonable. When I was looking for herbs it seemed like a lot of them had more dead leaves and general lankiness than you usually see at Home Depot, but maybe this is because they have been there longer. I recently bought a Thai Basil plant that is doing very well, and some lady bugs that saved my herbs and veggies from an aphid infestation. Gotta love aphid genocides, and all for the low cost of $8! There is very limited parking and it is actually pretty hazardous to get in and out of the lot. The fake geese are terrifying and make me jump every time, but I'll be back! read more

Clearly the cream of the crop as far as garden centers/nurseries go in the Sacramento area (this ain't your Home Depot Center!). I was greeted with friendly service (although they need to do a better job of finding customers who look confused or with questions). Staff provided great advice, found many plants for me and were able to provide specific instructions on how to care for my new plants. I ended up getting this hibiscus looking plant that climbs like a vine with beautiful multi-colored flowers. I also found some bulbs of a plant I really like. Prices are reasonable, I don't think there is too much of a difference between them and the huge chains. Next time you are jonesing for some greenery, help with your black thumb, or if you just want a nice stroll through their gardens, head on over to Talini's. read more

I really wanted a fresh wreath and they had tons to choose from! The staff was very kind as well. The place is cute and has lots to choose from. The price on the wreath was great as well. All in all, I found wjat I needed. Ps. Truth be told I was riding my bike back from home depot where they didnt have wreaths and apparently were sold out 3 days afyer black friday woth two bags if trimmings ready to make a terrible version of my own. I used to love this place until today. I went in around 4:30pm I went to ask a younger employee about a few plants and she answered my questions as if I was stupid and she is above me. I understand college students need jobs but don't be rude and ruin a great business because you think you know it all. Also when I first walked in I saw about five employees in the garden center outside alone. When I myself actually needed help or the many people outside needed help. No one was around. Found the only person inside. I ended up putting all my stuff back and leaving. I am very disappointed and honestly do not know if I will be back. read more

I had a plant that I brought home, that seemed to have some sort of disease and died immediately, they took it back no questions asked and replaced it with the same plant....the plants are healthy and happy, and if they end up not, they will make it right for you. I never tried Talini's Nursery because it seems so small when I drive by, but finally gave them a try after I lost my beloved Capitol Nursery chain. And whatdyaknow, Talini's has a surprising amount of stock for their smallish property. Considerable flower and food plant selection (really liked their antioxidant berry collection), beautiful pots and containers, some lovely garden furniture and statues, and cute gifty stuff inside the actual store. The prices seem a bit high and the parking lot sucks to get in and out of, but otherwise Talini's is definitely worth browsing for my greenery needs. read more
