Huge selection of plants! Fun classes if you are looking for something to do. Everything was decently priced and everyone was so helpful!

This place is so inviting and you will encounter happy plant people with every turn. You can't help it, like come here on a bad day and it will soon change your mood. I came in with purpose, but a Peace Lily but came out with a few succulents and accessories just because - I mean, why not right? HA! Btw - I forgot to take a picture of my haul! Failed! Yes, this place is a little more pricey but you're supporting a smaller business who has staff that will provide the extra touch to your visit. They should serve cocktails lol Who wouldn't like to drink and plant shop at the same time? I probably would buy more. Jk - ok not kidding. Love Secret Garden - hope this place continues to thrive!

The Secret Garden is such a cute shop with an amazing selection of plants, and their gift shop is absolutely adorable. I went to one of their workshops and made a botanical cloche (pictured), and it was SO fun. It really lets everyone get creative, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful the whole time. The shop itself is full of beautiful, handmade, creative items, and it's just a really lovely place to spend time in. I definitely recommend checking out their workshops, such a wonderful experience overall.

Our yearly holiday tradition now includes purchasing our Christmas tree from The Secret Garden, a small family owned local shop. Prices are comparable and even cheaper than those cold parking lot pop ups. Each tree is stored in water to ensure it remains fresh and lasts all season. They will trim it, give it a fresh cut, wrap it and even help you load it. The special part is how each tree is individually named based on their personality. This is part of the family fun is finding a name that vibes with you. The back of the tag shows the price so there is no secret about the bargain you are getting. Save the tag and bring it next year for 5% savings. An eco friendly store too!

The secret garden is an eclectic independently owned garden nursery that offers a vast selection of indoor and outdoor plants, water fountains, statuary, glazed ceramic and terracotta pottery, pavers and stepping stones, soil, DG, artisan curated pressed flowers, macrame plant hangers, plant pics & so much more. Theres an entire "teaching and learning" aspect the Secret Garden offers to its shopping community. All their classes are posted on their monthly calendar, which is on the webpage And you can sign up online and pay to reserve your spot. This is exactly what I did when I received an invitation for their Valentine's Day teaching and learning craft and shop day, They had two crafting stations, light hors d'oeuvres were served with champagne or tea, and each guest got the opportunity to spin a wheel and win an instant discount coupon that could be used right then and there if you decided to shop their fabulous gift shop after finishing up at one or both crafting stations. The two crafting stations were the copper wire plant pick with wider wrapped tumbled crystal or natural crystals, and the pressed flower crafting station where you got to select from secret Gardens, curated pressed flowers and make your own mini window frame that you could hang up. Two of my friends and I did the copper plant pick with the wire wrapped crystals and one of my friends did the pressed flowers craft station. And I must say the results were simply gorgeous. This was a super fun and relaxing event and we had such a great time. I will most definitely be checking out the Secret Gardens spring class calendar for their up-and-coming classes.

I went to this spot with 1 of my son's because we both enjoy planting, gardening and creating. He I been here before, this was my first time. It was cool just pretty pricey. I would under the pricing if there was a lot of things you couldn't get from the larger chain stores. I did purchase about 150.00 worth of things, because again it was a nice little garden. Until next time.

We have visited a few times- not the best customer service or the friendliest. Prices are higher than some of the other nurseries in town.

As far as price goes, since this is my first time there and not really buying plants aside from the seasonal flower to indoor plants I'm not too familiar with it being good value. But I do believe they are as my best friends always come back and the constantly have fliers for sales. They also give notice to upcoming community events. Our last visit we realized that they also sell beef cuts, tallow, jams and honey. We decided to purchase the honey and we just tried it with tea and by itself, and we will be repurchasing! We're excited to get our beef there too. But amazing place, heavily believe in supporting local nurseries it's worth it.

Not only are there a bunch of plants to choose from, the owners there are super kind and helpful! I went to buy bonsai trees for my mom's birthday and there were tons of options. I asked the lady for advice and she was able to help me narrow down which plants were best indoor, which were best outdoor, and how much they were. As others stated, prices aren't listed so you have to ask the owner how much the plants are, but they are fairly priced in my opinion. The owner was also helpful when it came to giving advice on how often to water the plants, where they should stay to get the best light, and answered all our questions. I ended up getting a ficus (left) and a juniper (right). When our ficus wasn't doing so well, we brought it back into the nursery hoping for answers on how we could better take care of it or plants like it in the future. Not only was she able to examine it, trimmed it, and showed us how to water it, she even went ahead and repotted a new one for us! We weren't expecting to even get a new ficus, but she went out of her way to find us another ficus, teach us how to take better care of it. This is one of the best shops I've ever been to as they truly care about their plants and their customers. We were just expecting to receive advice on how our ficus was dying and we ended up getting a new plant to start our journey again. No matter if you're a beginner or an expert, definitely give this place a go for some good service from the owners and some pretty plants!

Well you can imagine my happiness while at a Yelp event in Oak Park I saw next door there was an amazing looking nursery-I just knew I would have to make a return visit-well when I finally had the time,we headed to The Plant Foundry located at 3500 Broadway in Oak Park. This place is so cute-I haven't been to a ton of nurseries as I've generally picked up my cactus plants at random spots like a midtown market or a Trader Joe's or as gifts from people but I will say this was one of the cuter nurseries I've been to. When we arrived I walked around a bit to check out what they had to offer-what was in season and wondering where the cactus plants were. I liked this little sign they had in the middle of their nursery which advised everyone what was in season and what should be planted at this time of year-for a newbie green thumb person like myself-information like that is very helpful. After walking around a bit I decided on the cutest little cactus to add to my collection at home and it cost me $7.99,so cheap and my daughter decided to get a snow peas plant($7.49). In closing-if you ever find yourself in the Oak Park area and want to check out the cutest little nursery-I would 100% recommend The Plant Foundry for all your gardening needs-they have a really awesome business running out there-I like em and will be back.
