This review is strictly related to the service department. I received a notification in the mail from Infiniti about a recall on the turbo charger for my Infiniti Q50S. I stopped by Golden State Infiniti in early July as I began experiencing some of the warning signs detailed in the Infiniti recall notification. After speaking with a service advisor by the name of Bob, he advised he would order the replacement turbo charger. Bob kept in contact in subsequent days to let me know the part was on order and when it should arrive. Once the part arrived, Bob called to schedule a date I could drop the car off for the replacement to be installed. I made an appointment for July 15th at 11 am. I was provided a loaner vehicle as I was advised that it would take 2-3 days for them to replace the turbo charger on my car. I got my car back with the replacement turbo charger installed. Drove the car home and parked it. The next morning or so, I attempted to drive my car. I noticed the car "hesitated" when it shifted into the next gear. However once the car was warmed up, it drove without hesitation. Initially I thought it was a one off instance but the hesitation continued each time the car set for longer than 4-5 hours. I reached out to Bob with my concerns. He advised that the work performed wasn't near the transmission to cause the hesitation. He suggested that I bring the car in for them to perform a diagnostic at no charge. I was due to travel and opted to bring the car in once I returned from my trip. The appointment for the diagnostic was made for August 5th at 9:00 am. I received a call once the diagnostic was completed to pick up my car. I was then told of issues with my transmission fluid that weren't advised to me when I picked the car up from having the turbo charger replaced. I later took the car to a second Infiniti dealership for a second opinion. I dropped the car off the night before the diagnostic appointment in order for them to experience the hesitation on a cold start. I received a phone call later that morning from the service advisor and technician. I explained the issue that I was experiencing with the hesitation on a cold start. The technician then explained the turbo charger replacement process and how the work is done near the transmission. They gave me scenarios that could fix the issue leading up to needing the transmission replaced. The next day I was provided with the diagnosis. During the turbo charger replacement, it was determined that a line may have been nicked which caused transmission fluid to leak from the car. The level of transmission fluid in the car was low which caused the hesitation on a cold start. As the car warms up, the transmission fluid expands thus the hesitation issue not replicating. The technician provided more information as noted on the report but for this purpose he suggested a transmission flush and refill. The work was done and my car was driving as it did before I took it to Golden State Infiniti for the turbo charger recall replacement. I reached out to Golden State Infiniti through their service appointment portal with the same information but never received a response. I also emailed the service manager and general manager but both emails bounced back. I had a bad experience once before with this same dealership. However, I had gotten a call they were under new management and to expect a different experience. Unfortunately, the second experience was worse and I now regret giving them a second chance. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the California Bureau of Auto Repair but got responses that Golden State Infiniti didn't respond to either attempt to discuss and resolve the complaint. read more

STAY AWAY from INFINITI, especially Golden State INFINITI! My recent experience with their dealerships regarding the end-of-lease process has been nothing short of a nightmare. My lease is ending at the end of the month, and despite following all pre-return instructions, including scheduling an inspection, I am now stuck in the final step of returning my vehicle. Golden State Infiniti told me it was not their responsibility to take my car back and that they had no space for any end-of-lease cars. They directed me to call other dealerships in the Bay Area. I contacted Redwood City, Stevens Creek, and other Infiniti dealerships, only to be told they also didn't have enough space to accept my car. To make matters worse, when I called Infiniti customer service, their only solution was to suggest extending my lease for another month, which I have no interest in doing. This lack of accountability and responsibility from Infiniti dealerships has left me completely frustrated and hanging in the middle of nowhere. This experience has severely tarnished my view of Infiniti's customer service and dealership network. I expected a seamless and professional end-of-lease process, but what I received was a runaround and complete disregard for customer convenience. I hope Infiniti addresses these issues promptly, so other customers do not have to go through the same ordeal. I will file a complaint with the BBB. read more

TL;DR: Bought a car here. The engine blew up 6 days later, and the dealer said "too bad." Long version: I recently purchased a used Cadillac Escalade from Golden State Infiniti. After test-driving the car, the dealer had poor communication, and did not reach out or follow-up for an entire week. I have never had a dealer try so hard to NOT sell a car. I ended up buying the car two weeks later. They offered to deliver the car to me at work in San Francisco. The night they were supposed to deliver it, they called me and said they weren't ready in time, and would deliver it the next day instead. The salesman offered to use e-sign to complete the documents, which I requested. The next day he showed up with the car, and with paper contracts, instead of the e-sign documents. My name was misspelled on the DMV paperwork, and I have yet to see if it was corrected. They provided a form for to me to sign stating that the vehicle was equipped with a front license plate bracket per state law, even though the vehicle was not. (It is the dealer's responsibility to provide a front license plate bracket at no cost to the consumer). The car was delivered with only a 1/4 tank of gas, and it was due for an oil change when they dropped it off. The tire pressures were also oddly off-balance, with the driver's side tires under-inflated, and the passenger side tires over-inflated. The dealer installed two newer tires on the rear wheels, however the front tires were the original from the manufacturer, and were 5 years old, and should have been replaced. This dealer also adds one of those bogus "Portfolio Glass etching theft protections" that doesn't really do anything. Because they install it on all of their cars, it is "Non-Negotiable" and they charge $1,000 for it. Essentially, a scam of a mark-up. I have recovered dozens of stolen cars in my career, and "Glass etching" does absolutely nothing to help with the recovery. The real issue with this car came six days after I bought it. I loaded up my family of six, including four young children, and drove the car to Truckee for a week of skiing. Just before we arrived in Tahoe, the car started blowing white smoke out of the exhaust. I limped it to a mechanic, and they confirmed that the head gasket was blown. I was now stranded 4 hours from home with my family, and no vehicle. I called the dealer to see if they could help me, and their response was, "Sorry, there's no cooling-off period." (If you don't know, a cooling-off period is a pre-agreed amount of time where you can change your mind and return the car. It has nothing to do with providing a warranty or guarantee on a vehicle that the dealership sold). I eventually got the car towed to a Cadillac dealer who tore open the motor and told me that the car had prior engine work done incorrectly, and that the head bolts had been left loose, causing the motor to overheat for months. This car had been in the Wise Auto Group dealer inventory for over a year, which means they were likely aware of the issue and did not address it. Even if they weren't, they should have stood behind a car that they had sold just 6 days earlier. Additionally, they clearly don't perform any type of pre-sale inspection, based on the neglect of maintenance on the tires and oil change. To add insult to injury, two weeks after buying the car I still had not received any of my paperwork or sales contract for the car. I made multiple calls to the dealership, who told me that they had just hired a new finance manager, who was "Catching up." Even if the new finance guy needed a few days, there is absolutely nothing about the paperwork that takes two weeks to complete. During most car sales transactions, the paperwork is handed to you in an envelope before you drive away. It was only after repeated requests that the dealer finally scanned and emailed me digital copies of the contracts. Three weeks later now, and I still haven't received the originals in the mail. I have purchased DOZENS of cars over the last 20 years. This dealer was the worst by far. read more

We were shopping for a new car to replace our Infiniti QX60. Golden State Infiniti was the closest Infiniti dealership to our house. At this dealership we were greeted by Sergey who did an amazing job showing us their inventory and going through the pros and cons of each model car. Sergey was very knowledgeable, patient, and courteous. Ultimately we settled on a QX55 and drove it off the lot the next day. Buying or leasing a car is rarely "fun" but the recently promoted Sales Manager, Sergey, made it as enjoyable as possible. Sergey was very informative and jumped through hoops to make sure that we got the car that we wanted. Sergey kept us informed of all the steps needed to get the car to their lot and pushed the other dealerships to receive the car in our desired timeframe. Sergey was never pushy, as many car salesmen are, but rather, he listened to our preferences and gave us various options for us to consider. The worst service repair I have ever used. DO NOT GO THERE. It was a total ripoff. I took my car to Golden State Infiniti/Nissan for an electrical problem. Before they explained anything, they said it would cost $400 just to "diagnose" the problem. I was told it would take a few hours and they would call me. No one called and I called 20 TIMES over the afternoon and there was no answer. Their phone automatically cuts off after 30 seconds. I could not find out when the car would be ready, etc. and even tried the sales department and the parts dept and no one ever answered. This is the worst kind of "customer service" when no one answers at all. I am dependent on others to drive me to the dealership and yet I could not get any answers as to when the car would be ready. I did not hear from them until late morning the next day. They said I could now pick up the car. They seemed to say they didn't do anything except clean a filter and "we should see" if the problems persist. If so, it would be several thousands of dollars to fix. So $400 for nothing and the rudest, most unresponsive company imaginable. Do not take your car there unless you want to throw your money away. read more

I've been to Golden State Infiniti several times for service on my car. It can be difficult to make an appointment or get anyone on the phone - even though they have several different phone numbers listed, none seem to do much good. The last time I was there for my brakes, I went back (twice) shortly after because they were still making a lot of noise. I was given different reasons and solutions each time. The most recent time I was there was Aug. 23. While the individuals I dealt with directly were very polite during this visit, I was most disappointed to see that COVID rules/precautions were not being followed. This is at a time when local facemask mandates are in effect. Staff working in the service area took their masks off or wore them below their nose (FYI - that doesn't work), most staff that appeared to be on the sales side weren't wearing facemasks at all (including when a couple of customers came in and were talking to an employee in close range), and several other employees came through the customer waiting area without facemasks. Additionally, the waiting area has coffee and vending machines and several customers were eating and drinking inside. There were also other customers that came in without any facemasks just because they felt like it. While waiting the 3 or so hours for my car (way too long, BTW), I became uncomfortable with all the unfiltered breath surrounding me and went outside, only for another customer that wasn't wearing a facemask while talking on the phone and sitting a little too close to me inside to also go outside - guess he also wanted to be in the small shaded spot I found. When paying at the service desk before leaving (the service area is very small and narrow), the employee sitting right next to the one assisting me was talking to what appeared to be another employee, both not wearing facemasks (apparently they couldn't be bothered to at least put one on when customers were standing right in front of them). It seems this location neither adheres to nor enforces any type of face covering or physical distancing guidelines. I'll likely look elsewhere the next time my car needs service. read more

If I could give 0 stars and also bring my business elsewhere, believe me, I would. I previously leased a QX60 from Peninsula Infiniti in Redwood City. Unfortunately, they closed and I had hated the car I bought after my lease was up. I decided the Lexus GX460 was enough and I went in to GSI looking to lease a QX50. They technically hadn't opened yet, but, obviously, welcomed my business. Gustavo was my salesperson and was helpful and did go above and beyond on getting the color I wanted. However, he did promise me a bottle of wine then an Edible Arrangement since I was Golden State Infiniti's first customer. Also, a picture in their showroom to celebrate their first Infiniti customer. I am still waiting for the delivery of both the bottle of wine and an Edible Arrangement. I signed the paperwork on 7/7/20. I was told the Infiniti paperwork system was not ready yet and I kept calling about an update. Finally after a week they had me come in to sign paperwork. I then took delivery of the car. I called once a month to check on the fact that I hadn't received a invoice in the mail about my lease payment. Tommy, the manager, told me the first time in July to wait a week and it will be coming in the mail. I waited another month. I called again. I asked to speak to Matt in finance who helped me with my initial paperwork. He told me that the Infiniti system was not set up yet and the that they were working on it with Corporate. Golden State Infiniti didn't even let me know that my lease paperwork didn't go through TWO MONTHS AGO. I had to call! Matt finally sent me the lease paperwork electronically, which I signed on August. All throughout this process Matt, Tommy, Gustavo and the other finance manager kept telling me that they would take care of me by washing my car. Peninsula Infiniti would do that guaranteed. If I took my car there for service or just because it is a given. Telling me that they'll wash my car is a slap in the face and I truly believe Tommy doesn't know how to manage an upscale branch. A car wash and a loaner car should be a nonnegotiable. Apparently, it is at Golden State Infiniti. Today, September 28,2020, I received a letter in the mail from the credit union that I sold my trade in to. Golden State Infiniti did not buy off my trade in as of today when I sold them my car on 7/720 and then they SOLD my car on 7/19/20. Tommy told me that his finance department was closed and he'll get back to me. My credit may now be affected because of this dealership's incompetence. DO NOT go to Golden State Infiniti. Peninsula Infiniti reopened in Redwood City. Believe me, it's worth the drive. I have been dealing with this dealership's incompetence since July and in September I am still dealing with it. I am also in the process of reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and also to Infiniti Corporate. They are a disgrace to the Infiniti name and should be dealt with as such. read more

Dishonest Service department. I had an electrical issue in the car. Quoted $700 just to diagnose the issue. I had to leave the car for 4 days because they're backed up on service orders. They will try so hard and get you to buy a vehicle, that parts good, i got a vehicle with a slight crack on the windshield, a little paint scratches on both side of the read fender, the sport buttons were not working, and these were all promised to be fixed, got my windshield done after two months of running and begging them to fix it, however the other things were not done as promised, 35k is money, but im not going to stress running after them to do it for me, i regret it, customer service pathetic.
